- The SpongeBob Squarepants franchise is one of the most iconic, recognizable and marketable brands in recent history, appearing on what seems like millions of products. The franchise has spawned several licensed food promotions and products, why don't we take a look at them?
From cereal to gummy candy to ice cream with gumballs, today we take a look at several forgotten nostalgic SpongeBob food products.
Along with food, in this video we also discuss the case of stolen SpongeBob inflatables, and various attempts at a real life Krusty Krab location. Many people will recognize these products, but few know their full history, and that's what this video is for.

Hillenburg drew a hard line against Spongebob ever promoting fast food directly. That's why a true, real Krabby Patty has never been sold. Most of the merchandising seems to have been, naturally, out of his hands, but he was vocal about that one point

At my grandma's for sleepovers, we lived off of SpongeBob fruitsnacks and gummy krabby patties. We'd wake up to watch SpongeBob and enjoy these treats in between meals.
I'm glad SpongeBob is a worldwide loved character. For how much joy he brings into the world, the least we can do is keep SpongeBob popsicles around.

I remember Snoopy. He's big in Japan so my parents gave me that one alot. I also had Dora once, only because the truck was sold out of the one I wanted. I was pissed, but at least her hair tasted good.
My grandpa used to run a very successful fish store named el crustaceo cascarudo (mexican dubbed krusty krab), and while there were no statues, the whole place was covered in really good artwork of the characters

I remember making a 100 days of school project out of SpongeBob macaroni. Nearly 20 years later, I'm sick and depressed watching this video and craving SpongeBob macaroni for the first time in years. I haven't been eating much and the nostalgia is kicking in. I'm about to cry.
I ate SpongeBob macaroni alot in 2002, including when I held a viewing party of the House Party episode at my apartment. I think they still have it.

I ate that cereal too. I also remember the Superman cereal they had out for Superman Returns. Though Cree (the owner of a comic book shop I go to) says she misses the Nintendo cereals like Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr, and Pac-Man had cereal too. They should bring them back!

I remember my late grandma bought me the gummy patties back when they were labeled with nick candy. She knew I loved the show and she'd never seen them in candy stores before and bought them for me. Its a very sweet memory.
This video is one of my favorites. I can't believe it hasn't even been that long since it released, but so much has happened recently that I find myself constantly thinking back to a simpler time, even if it was only 2 years ago. Just thinking about this channel fills me with tons nostalgia and I can't contain it. I'm glad you're still around even if it's only an occasional video every once and a while. It's pretty great stuff that always just seems to put me in a good mood.
Same here! I’ve re-watched this video countless times and it never gets old. It’s easily one of my favorite videos on TH-cam. I love PatMac’s videos and they always feel like you’re just chilling and talking with a good friend.
In the Netherlands, they used to sell a SpongeBob chocolate cookie. These were extremely popular and featured images of the characters on them. People would always be exited to see which characters they got! Unfortunately the company appearantly lost the license for the SpongeBob franchise and the cookies have been discontinued. :(

Oh my goodness, I indeed remember those, as well as those SpongeBob popsicles with lemon and cola flavours! (They sold the latter in the mid-2000s, and they might've been twin popsicles, but I'm not sure anymore lol)
Fun fact: In mexicali, there was for some time a krusty crab themed restaurant
at the time, I wanted to go, but it was real expensive, and I don't think it exists anymore

No it doesn’t. I have pictures when I usually go to visit family. It was a really nice replica tbh. But it was changed to a pirate themed restaurant and the food was pretty good when I went. Pretty cool to see it in person tho

The krabby patty gummies were a God-tier Halloween candy back in the day. One Halloween I bought a Frankenstein Spongebob collectors box which came filled to the brim with them which was sick. Such a great video, brought back childhood memories.
One of my earliest memories was eating ketchup flavoured spongebob themed crisps at some sort of carnival, and considering I have a horrid memory it must’ve been a very important part of my childhood if I’ve remembered it this long. I still randomly remember it whenever I see either spongebob or hear the mention of crisps
The saddest one is miss, is when they discontinued the SpongeBob cheez-its!! When my grandpa was still alive he used to get these for me evey time we went to tops! I cried when I found out when they were gone!

You don't know how much I as a fan constantly look for any old spongebob food product boxes from his original years and I just can't I swear this is something that was just really unthought of overtime by most people unlike toys and stuff
Those ice cream bars with the bubble gum eyes are super nostaglic to me. My grandparents used to own a little deli/corner store and my grandma used to have those ice cream bars in the freezer and she would let us grandkids have one and they'd melt all over my hands. I was 2 years old when I first had the Spongebob cereal from Kellogg's. That is still my all time favorite cereal only rivaled by the Shrek cereal.
I loved the Superman Returns cereal they had. I also remember Cinnamon Toast Crunch when they still had the chef.

Honestly as a HUGE SpongeBob fan, this is great. I do recognize a good amount of foods in just this one video. SpongeBob will always and will be my number one favorite cartoon character of all time. For the first one, no. At least I don't think so? I have never really tried it so I wouldn't know the reaction.
For the reactions I have to gelatin, I get a stomach ache, have really bad migraines, have a rash around my neck area and I throw up sometimes. I was told if I eat more then a cup of gelatin I could possibly have a chance of dying so haha!! Fun :')

@Vector can confirm stuff like this happened in my old school when i was younger, i was in elementary school when spongebob was at its peak of popularity. kids liked to sing that during when pizza was being served for lunch.. it wasnt like a chorus of kids or anything, just someone would go off singing it to their group of friends. its like how fnaf kids in 2014 do little kids things like singing the fnaf song randomly (my little cousins did this) or annoying people by "jumpscaring them". im sure op ment *a few people sung it* and not the whole class lmao.

The first time I saw the popsicle on a tumblr post like 15 years ago comparing it to the wrapper , I absolutely could not stop laughing. Like, the kind of laughter where every time you look at it tears start streaming, your stomach hurts, and you can’t hold in the laugh. I love him.
I discovered your channel yesterday and i immediately subscribed. I love these nostalgia stuff. It unlocks memories in my brain that i completely forgot about. For example, when i was a kid spongebob didnt start to air in my native country straightaway, but i remember seeing pictures of him everywhere on the internet. As 50x50 animated gifs or in glittery images made with blingee in kids signatures on forum posts. And i remember thinking "what the hell is this cheese guy"

i cant believe... how much... i remember eating spongebob themed food. i think i've had nearly every spongebob inspired food listed when i was a child.
The last time I had a Spongebob popsicle was when i was 9 and mine melted very fast. Bleeding eyes, vampire teeth and everything.
It looked like Spongebob was in a pool of blood. I literally had to get a Tupperware bowl. In just a minute, it was covered in red liquid.
I was traumatized. At least it tasted good until I realized I was basically eating Spongebob alive.

One set of fast food toy tie-ins I remember was back when Atlantis Squarepantis was new, Burger King held a promo where you could get these toys that were very posh, historic-looking SpongeBob figurines. However, there was a catch--there was a very small chance you could win a real-life "Vacation to Atlantis" (obviously, it wasn't REALLY Atlantis, but it was a tropical resort I forget the name of). How did you know if you had a winner? Well, when you went home, you'd have to dunk them in water once you got home, and it'd reveal if you won anything or not! It was effectively a combination fast food toy/novelty sweepstakes method, and it was actually a really clever concept!
I know I had one for awhile (was repurposed for a bath toy after the sweepstakes passed), but I've sadly lost it. I know there's a few images online, but very little mention of the sweepstakes!

This video spiced some really old memories. Some years ago, me and my mom walked into the Dollar Tree store. It was 3 days before Easter, recently my last 3 years of Easter were: my sister chocked and had to go to the ER, my dog ate chocolate and was fine but still scary, and this year my dog ate my sisters dark chocolate bar and went to the ER. So this was my last good Easter. I was 10. Me and my mom were strolling, getting Easter cards. We say a spongebob plush, it was ever shaped. Not only that, it had a pretty big box of Krabby patty gummies staples to the tag. Ever since, every year I forget to put it on display. Every Easter it feels like everything is against my and my family’s life. But whenever I even look, let alone hold the plush I feel warm. Not to get all cheesy, but it really makes me happy.

they stopped selling them in the stores near me a few years ago and i was so sad :(((
This was a local thing, but I live in Maryland and we used to have this restaurant called Rocky Run (iirc) and they had a TON of sponge bob advertisements and art work painted on the walls. I can't recall if they had their own 'krabby patty' on the menu, or if they had the rights to use spongebob characters at their location, but this place was my favorite place to go as a kid.

@@hotdogstockimage Sadly it closed down YEARS ago, at least a decade maybe? But the restaurant itself is still there, all the windows are covered up. The mall it's in, Marley Station Mall, (even before shutting down for the quarentine) is a dying mall but to this date hasn't been replaced. The restaurant's sign, and chairs and tables in the outdoor section are still there. I'd love (but don't condone) for someone to break in to see if all of the hot sauce bottles they decorated the store with are still there.

In Mexico we actually got a variant on the popsicles! These being based on Spongebob and Patrick, but just being their shapes. Spongebob was pineapple-vanilla flavored with chocolate pants and Patrick was probably strawberry. The spongebob was my favourite and i still remember it with love
