  • PEUGEOT 306 - Removing the window regulator (electric window motor/mechanism)
    You may need to do this to repair due to a slow or totally failed electric window motor.
    All you need is torx bits (long), a small screwdriver, trim lever tools, 10mm sockets, drill, perhaps some wire cutters/strippers/soldering iron.

    I’m changing my phase 1 to phase 3 body panels and your videos have been extremely helpful, you are very good at explaining how each part actually attaches to one another, I’m very new to working on Peugeots as it took me a long while to find a 306 in the spec I wanted to own, in New Zealand they are a very uncommon car, working on it has been a breeze thanks to you!

    The part here showing how to remove the clip from the green plastic slider was a game changer for me. Very useful video, well narrated, clear , no irritating music and informative. This wil enable me now to finish the job now. Thank you.

    Brilliant video, I'm just about to do this job which is not explained in Haynes manual. This looked a good quality motor and slider kit - what make is it (I'm in the UK)? Cheers

    To lube or not to lube, that is the question... the cables, I mean. Since they work on friction, lubricating them is counter-intuitive, but if they are left dry they destroy themselves.
    All in all, they really are a horrible cheap and nasty system compared to a rack and pinion + scissor like in the early days of electric windows.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  ปีที่แล้ว

      The cables don't usually fail, it's the fixings at the end of them or the bushings or the motor. They are pretty reliable considering the age of them. I don't do many to be honest

    I had a new motor that had the wrong connector (Delphi type) so to save chopping the loom, I bought a male Bosch connector and plugged that into the original loom and then soldered a male Delphi connector to it to act as a bridge :) hope that makes sense

    Hi, where did you source the regulator from? Also, do you know if the same company does rear regulators for the Cabriolet?

    This would have been a handy video years ago, when I needed to take the passenger door apart to fix the electric window. Everything working except the window glass kept falling inside the door when button pushed to lower the glass. I guess it needed new clips etc.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah clips on the runner top corner and the clip/dimple on the regulator classic places

      @@PiggyPower The first sign that my window was like this, was before I drove it from the forecourt after buying it. The sales guy tried talking to me outside the car, so I wound the window down to hear him better......

      Fortunately the window could be dragged upwards and fully closed with the palms of my hands! 😁
