  • Easy repair to the regulator, but check what’s failed on yours before ordering the new kit. You may need a pivot wheel.

Spent 3 hours at night yesterday fighting the wire, watched your video and then today between putting the kettle on and makingy my Mrs a cuppa all was done! Winding it up with pliers makes all the difference, takes really less than 2 minutes!

    Thankyou,
    Terrible job as in frustrating.
I also found that the old grease had hardened so cleaned it down with some brake cleaner then applied new grease.
First method worked for me, should we even be buying cars made in a country where they drink wine most of the day. . 😉

Great instructions dear bro. I just fixed my right rear window with the kit. At 8:43" I found the 2nd method of the upright twist and turning into position easier for me.
Interestingly the one that you removed from the car was the same original part that peugeot "upgraded" on all four doors upon a warranty recall. Originally, the parts were fully plastic like the kit, but that failed in 2 rear windows of my car after just a year as the weather/heat warped it.
I hope the current repair lasts.
    Cheers n Thank you bro!

I probably spent about 2 hours trying to wind the cables around the drum without sucess. Then I noticed that the window regulator I was working with was not an original part yet it had also failed. The cables were actually shorter than the ones included in the replacement kit! I had to modify all parts in order to get a working window regulator again.

Sí,ya sé que es el colmo de la tacañería,pero me jode mucho que una ventanilla que usé cuatro o cinco veces sólo se me rompa su mecanismo.

      Reset Procedure
      Start your 508.
Close all the doors and windows.
Open the window by pressing and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully open, keep the switch pressed for a few seconds.
Close the window by lifting and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully closed, keep the switch held for a few seconds.
Note: Repeat the procedure if the window does not automatically close with one press of the switch. If it still doesn’t work, repeat the procedure without starting the engine and the ignition in ON position. To turn on the ignition in vehicles with start/stop button, press the button without pressing the brake pedal.
      Reset Procedure 2
If the above reset instructions do not work for your 508, then this alternate method may work.
      Start your 508.
      Close all windows and doors.
Open the window by pressing and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully open, keep the switch pressed for a few seconds. Release the switch, then press it again and hold it for a few seconds.
Close the window by lifting and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully closed, keep the switch held for a few seconds. Release the switch, then pull it upward again and hold it.
The one-touch up and down features will then be fully functional.
Note: If the window still doesn’t automatically close in your 508, repeat the procedure without starting the engine and the ignition in ON position. To turn on the ignition in vehicles with start/stop button, press the button without pressing the brake pedal.

@@floridahummer I ended up fitting the cable about 4-5 times cos I missed it on the camera and got the camera the wrong way up etc, once you get the knack the whole job is 10 minutes. Just make sure the cables are in their correct groove so as one vacates a groove the other one fills it, if they cross you’ll have a big mess. You can and probably should slide the sliding plate down the rail rather than clip it over like I did. Which is how I’ll do the next one. That saves stressing the new plastic slider. Let me know if you sort it 👍

I can’t say for sure but the wheel is 48.5mm diameter . 13mm thick and has 22 teeth for the motor drive. But the 208 has a different regulator, with 2 sliders. The cables will be much longer as well. But if you get yours out it may just need a simple part like a new wire, than you can make from a cycle cable.

@@Vaynecenzo that’s why I sent you the measurements, so you don’t waste money taking a chance on buying a 508 wheel. But if the wheel is worn like in my video then the wire groove gets deeper and holds the wire even better. If it’s worn on the motor drive teeth then you need a new one. Usually on those two slider systems one of the small wheels at the end breaks then it goes round the drum and mangles everything. But for sure a 508 cable won’t fit a 208 regulator. But the wheel might

Hi, there are EBay sellers in Turkey Lithuania and Germany . There are problems with shipping to the EU due to BREXIT. You must get the correct repair kit for your window. Left and right are different and possibly front and back are different .
The 2 wires are the same length. One gets longer and the other shorter as the window goes up and down. I suggest you remove the window mechanism first to find out what has broken. Before you order the repair kit. I would remove the mechanism and then secure the window with a piece of wood from underneath inside the door. If you use adhesive tape to secure the widow, it will fail and the window fall into the door and break. I have seen that happen. You may find that yours has a broken part that is not in the repair kit. Sometimes the small wheels can break
