Honestly don't understand channels like this, it's SO easy to make cute, safe videos with the potential to get lots of views and be popular. VanillaHamHam is such a good example as they create such adorable videos but none of their hamsters have ever been hurt nor do they put their hamster's safety at risk for a little video!

Things wrong with this "maze" #1 had its foot caught many times also the swinging pointy ball couldn't have done any harm but the poor hamster was twitching. #2 the fish was in a 1table spoon cup for who know how long. #3 there were a bunch of crabs out of water and one of them was not moving so I'll guess it was dead.

It's disgusting how they abuse animals. I have two guinea pigs and a dog myself and if I did something wrong and or abused them I would never forgive myself. I feel all animals should be treated equally if they live in the ocean etc. I do not care if you have an excuse to be doing these sorts of things I still think you should go to prison it is horrible to treat animals different and anyways we are the late comers they were here first.

That’s honestly disgusting. Literally the poor hamster was being thrown and almost suffocated, almost broke so many bones. And it could have died. Why would you put live crabs in there with the poor hamster. It’s cruel to the crabs too how they were just being tossed around
@Herrick Family im not talking about the hamsters. there were literal live crabs in the video that were put in the same space as the hamster. the live crabs literally chased the poor hamster.

Whoever made that maze should be banned from owning animals. That hamster was so scared, the crabs were stressed, and the fish were kept in a space that was far too small for any aquatic animal to be in. Just a truly horrible thing to see.

@quack right? Even if temporary that's just... no. No way. But seeing the video they probably actually keep them like that. For hamster care, thanks to youtubers like Victoria it seems like people in general know about proper hamster care (I always see people complain in video comments if something seems dangerous, cage is too small etc) so that's great. But not that many people seem to jump at mistreating fish... for fish it seems like the misinformation was more widespread and only a few realize how complicated properly taking care of a fish is

This was so sad 😭 I watch this channel that does really low drops for the hamster. Its so low that the hamster drops it’s back legs in the hole and only half the body is covered ups and the best thing is they show how they build it and there is an artsy part of it and basic mechanics using gears and the moving portions or hand cranked so that you don’t hurt the animal. I was gonna look for that when I came across a channel that also did hamster mazes. It wasn’t as bad the ones in the video and didn’t include as many moving things but there were ax shaped bars that were moving so fact and the hamsters eyes were UNCOMFORTABLY close. That’s when I searched up if this was ok. So glad I came across the video to find im not the only one who hates this. Imma go back to my wholesome videos where they treat the hamster good.

My young son just requested a maze, I made one with cardboard, very minimal but I don't feel right about it. Plus she just climbed over all the walls. I'm glad I found this channel

When the hamster gets squashed, stuck with its legs, it’s body, hips and more isn’t enough it gets crushed and thrown down into a ball pit and while it’s struggling for its life trying to get up, it is being repeatedly smacked down. Literally in tears

The hamster wasn’t squashed or crushed, they can flatten their bodies, so don’t worry. But everything else about that video is just wrong.
I'm really glad I found your videos. I'm adopting a rescue hamster next week and they won't even let me have her until I can show her enclosure fits their minimum recommendations and prove that I'm able to take care of her. Not that I would ever make a maze like this because it just looks like torture but it's good to know little things. I probably would have assumed hamsters were a bit more durable than they actually are so it's good to know that even falling from small heights can hurt them.

Just imagine you being stuck in this situation - being tossed around, getting stuck in uncomfortable positions, getting thrown in areas that can harm you, being chased by horrifying things, and being buried in styrofoam balls. Wow :(
And you were woken up in the middle of the day and cannot understand what is going on because you don’t speak the same language.

What I like about Victoria is that she's not biased. She feels sorry for the fish and crab.
My daughter has just showed me this video. she has recently got a hamster and I am teaching her how to look after it responsibly as I had hamsters when I younger. I was absolutely disgusting that this video of the hamster maze is allowed on the internet. I am so glad my daughter understands that you have to be a responsible pet owner. The people who made the video of the hamster in that maze should have their hamster and any other pets took off them. and also, it’s really obvious that the hamster is not liking this, especially at 4:17, you could see the hamster was pushed down a lot faster than it was going, also completely ignoring that is quite a small tube for your hamster size (imo, sorry if it’s the right size) and it’s going a lot slower than usual so to be pushed down that could cause some injuries possibly, along with all the other things that are really dangerous for hamsters, also the WATER CONTRAPTION at 6:40!

I think those fish were going through worse - those were a species of tropical freshwater fish known as Mollies. That "tank" was so small that they could hardly move, and in addition to that, there was no heater in sight, which meant that they were probably freezing to death. If this person doesn't even know to enough about fish to give them a heater, then the water was probably untreated too, which means they would also be dying due to having to live in tap water which is full of chemicals which can damage their insides. Also the fish in the robot was experiencing so much stress from the shaking and confined space, it has probably died from stress by now.

All these videos show is just how heartless you are for a little bit of money. Animals need more love, it was be even sadder if these hamsters were from a rescue centre considering most animals from a rescue centre have been neglected and saved.

@@humbleguy1904 if they can easily get through small holes, then how come the hamster's hips got stuck in them? At least the last one, she/he hips were stuck. Ik hamsters can fit through small holes, my hamster and past hamster also can fit under doors, but those holes were definitely too small.

Imagine if you were in something like that though, I would be so stressed out and scared. And if you don't even know what's going on I would be so scared. Also that part where they fill up the small space with Styrofoam while the hamster is still in there! Then they proceed to put more balls in, pushing the hamster out. Even just the poor hamster at the end when he/she tries to climb up the ramp. It was so sad and stressful!

SimiTV I believe is a good person to watch for safe hamster mazes, he always designs them super carefully and always warns his viewers not to do this with their own hamsters. He lets his viewers know that he monitors the hamsters, lets them do everything on their own time (he never rushes them), and makes sure they don't stress out and throws plenty of healthy treats throughout his mazes for them :) His videos are very fun to watch!

Before my dwarfs hammy die my dad kicked my hamster ball when I was cleaning her cage he just said « don’t worry it not fragile it like a tiny cat »and he also spinned my hamster wheel so hard when she was in it now my hamster died 3 day ago and I just got a new one and I’m gonna get an another one tomorrow they are Syrian boy and I just really hope my dad isn’t going to do this anymore I don’t want I’m to see my baby hamster again 💔😔
The hamster was really stressed and could of been seriously injured, the crabs couldn’t breath and who knows how long they’ve been out for. And the betta fish were in a tiny tank and the gold fish was being thrown around. All of it is just awful

I love this women so much, she speaks volumes that nobody else does about little animals, and why they should get treated better than they do. she never fails to give out the right information, she changes animals life’s for the better. I’ve been watching her for about 3 years and now I feel ready to finally get a hamster that I can give the right care to, it doesn’t just happen in a few days, weeks even. like I said I’ve been watching 3 years and now I finally feel ready, I new nothing about hamster care 3 years ago. about proper hamster care anyways till i found her TH-cam she’s honestly the only person I’ve met that cares about small pets like I do. and with that aswell I’d like to give out a big thank you to her for teaching us all what we didn’t know and how to care for an animal the right way. ❤️
I used to watch these videos, I used to find them absolutely awesome. Then I started realising what they were *actually* doing - harming the poor hamsters; and it’s disgusting. Thank you, again, Victoria for your information videos, helping to protect hamsters from their imprisonments and horrible conditions; we should call you the Queen of Hamsters! 💞
Me too that is just to wrong hamsters have tiny hearts the size of a pea for starters the starting hamster is my hamster right now it got taken away from the person so i took it and the hamster nearly got attacked by that crab OMG HE FLINGED IT INTO THE AIR NAH NAH NAH PLEASE REPORT THAT
@@unicornprincess1378 I agree with your point but I definitely don’t believe it’s your hamster shown in the video. I’m not saying this to be dramatic and rude or anything but it’s just to make a point those hamsters don’t get taken away from terrible owners but have to suffer.
Same, I liked these videos. Thankfully I didn't like the ones with the crabs or the hamsters getting hurt, but I did like the ones with the styrofoam balls and the trap things that I didn't know were stressful to the hamster. Then I got a hamster (poor thing had to live in a tiny cage for more than a month, so glad that I got it from a rescue not a pet store), and started watching her videos and realized "Oh my gosh, these people are abusing their hamsters this should not be allowed". Now, thanks to Victoria, my hamster is having a good life in a bin cage eating sunflower seeds in his deep burrow. She definitely should be called the Hamster Queen!

Alright, so I'm not the only one who found these maze video's disturbing.
Watching this almost made me cry
I have seen SO many cute mazes that aren't stressful to the small animal going through them, and there's plenty of treats. And there's cuts in the video, meaning if the animal went back or chewed or something, the owner allowed it instead of forcing the animal to continue (and cut that part of the video out later). Ones with robotic stuff isn't my favorite since I'm sure that stresses them. In the ones I've seen they have been slow and easily stopped, but this one's robotics seem very fast and not easily stopped. But ones with water, and a severe potential to get their legs stuck above the water. And that fish in such a tiny area; I don't even know how they got the poor thing in there. And then the crabs -- I. I have no words for the crabs. I don't. I don't get it. I'm mad.
These are cute little rodents with little legs. Not trained athletes. Or lab monkeys. I don't get it.
Hamsters shouldn't be doing these hard challenging mazes. These small cute, adorable hamsters cant be treated like this

So true! - Ella I have a channel called excellent Ella and I have a Syrian hamster and my sister has a winter white dwarf. 💕I luv them so much. I honestly don’t use mazes and hardly ever use my hamster ball because I believe in free roaming and a little hand handling here and there.

I would honest just rather watch a hamster enjoy an "outing" in a large natural-themed enclosure that's full of grass and other safe plants or hideouts. Erin (the other famous hamster youtuber. I hope I spelled her name right) did something like this once and I LOVED it. It was great to watch the little guy dig around to find food. Probably much more relaxing for the hamster too.
Erin made a whole dang hamster garden just for play, and oh how I envy her natural hamster enclosure setup...
As of now I can only get bin cages, and tissue/paper based bedding lol can't find a reliable source of giant cages or different substrates yet ;-;

I love your videos! My son and I are new hamster owners, and we didn't know much until watching you. I bought him his Syrian long-haired girl at the petstore, and the day I bought her was the day she got delivered to the pet store. I didn't know that was bad until her droppings got soft. I was worried about it so I took her to the vet, and she had something called wet tail, brought on by the stress of being taken from her mother, sent to the store, then to my car n to my house in one day. The large pet store never told me to look for that! I did not know that was even a thing. Stress brings it on, and they can die from it easily. Watching these mazes are making me worry these hamsters will get wet tail
I really hope the people who make these cruel mazes get reported and learn how to look after all their animals safely instead. It’s so sad 😢 X

Whenever I make my hamster a standard cardboard maze, he cheats and climbs. So I pick him up and just give him the treats.

That video made me so scared for the poor hamster, as well as the other animals. Every time the hamster came in contact with a crab, my heart beat faster and I was terrified something awful was going to happen. How could someone do this to their animals?

This is disgusting. Everyone always sends these to me telling me to make one for my hamsters but they seriously dont realise how cruel they are.
You never see people putting cats or dogs through "traps" like this, they only use hamsters because they're small :(
I just found one of these on instagram and I commented that it’s super bad for the poor thing and two people replied telling me that it’s perfectly safe for the hamster and now I’m crying because I’ve been caring for hamsters for almost 2 years and they are my whole life.
I feel so bad for the hamster.😢 He could have gotten really hurt. How could somebody hurt such a cute animal?
