    I think what gets me is you have these guys do all this body work just to cover it up with armorized or heavy cloth suits. One example, Chris Evans. The whole Star Spangled Man With A Plan bit was of course goofing on the classic outfit but look at Chris's actual silouette in that thing! If they hadn't purposely made the cowl floppy and goofy looking you'd have a dead on comics Cap because Chris had the shape for it.

    I'm lucky, so far, I'm in my late thirties, just over 6' 1"and 225 lbs. and have worn x-large shirts since my late teen years. People always tell me I don't look my weight. It's helps when you keep active no matter what it is you may do. Along with other exercise I walk at least 4 miles 4 times a week in 95 degrees heat and often after having worked an 8 hr day. Great video. So much to discuss.
    Do these actors use PEDs? Most likely. But whatever.. like you said, they still have to put in the work. People not into fitness are just very ignorant to that. They think you take something and are instantly and effortlessly going to be jacked. Doesn't work that way at all.
    David.. I do 100% think he did use something.. his weight gain is very unlikely to be done naturally. People can certainly gain weight quickly, but not quality muscle. Also the pic everyone uses to show how "jacked" he got, he looks large.. sure.. but he is likely at peak bulk there (and after a pump) and man.. honestly... he doesn't look impressive at all. He looks soft. Also notice we only really see his arms. What are his abs looking like here? He doesn't show them for a reason. Smart.. I mean, I don't have abs all the time either and unless I'm dieted down around June/July.. I make sure to wear a tank top. lol So I get it.
    Also David's face is meatier as well. So the weight gain.. sure, he added some muscle. BUT a lot of that is water from the PEDs and while no one wants to admit it, a lot of it is fat. If he gained 10kg I'd say 2-3kg of that is muscle and honestly 2-3kg of muscle gain is a LOT. But that leaves 7-8kgs that aren't muscle.. combo of water/fat.
    I think the main "problem" for him is that he didn't have the base to work off. He was very lanky like you said. Not a very muscular or fit guy at all. So all this muscle is likely new and built off of peds instead.
    Hemsworth on the other hand had a solid base. The guy has always been in shape and has the years and muscle maturity. He needs to get bigger for the movie and so he adds in a little vitamin S and he can get into Thor Love & Thunder shape easily without needing to put on water/fat.
    Cavill's MoS body is the only one that honestly doesn't look like he used PEDs. He isn't overly large or soft like Corensweat at all and he isn't crazy shredded like say Hugh Jackman for Wolverine. He honestly looks like a normal in shape guy.
    The suits.. I've been saying this for years. Like you said, Cavill's suit's.. is to accentuate not add. Reeve.. he was in ok shape for the 70s, but his body is NOT impressive at all. I mean, my uncles (all military guys) looked far better back then. But yeah, Reeve's suit didn't have muscle lining at all, but I mean.. objectively speaking, it shows. I know people feel it is something we just shouldn't do.. but the Reeve look.. it is old and dated. It doesn't compare to Cavill's look at all. It just doesn't. Dean Cain... personally one of my favorite Superman, same thing. And honestly Dean Cain probably looked better than Reeve shirtless back then. But the suit.. just didn't help their over all look. And sadly Corrensweat's suit does him no justice either. I don't think he is as conditioned as Cavill was, so you probably wouldn't see as much definition, BUT he did add the size.. the suit however shows off none of that.
    And in terms of his own feeling about it. Gaining weight, if you aren't used to it, can feel uncomfortable. I workout and lift all the time. I don't really do "bulks" anymore, I follow the "maingain" sort of approach. But like 6-8 months of the year I don't really count calories. I eat somewhat the same thing so it isn't like I'm just eating crap and getting fat or anything, but tend to feel better most of the time. Sometimes I will start to feel heavier though and that is my mental que to drop some weight. And that is just a few kgs. I can't imagine gain 10-20gs let alone in a few months. That has to feel bad. AND while I don't use PEDs, I know guys that do and I've heard a lot of them say they start to feel bad and unhealthy.
    Anyway, as usual, my reply here got longer than it should have. Just I love these topics.. superheros and fitness are my two loves. lol
    Anyway, great video Andrew. Now, time for me to get a workout in. :)

    David has actually said that he wished he could stay at that 230-240 peak bulk weight, because he has insecurities about his head. He says in this interview that he believes his head is too big for his frame: th-cam.com/video/bv3W8GmhYZM/w-d-xo.html. That said, I do believe he probably want to do it at a slower pace without too much fat gain.
    I always take these celebrity transformations with a grain of salt. Like Chris Evans who said it was grueling to only eat chicken, broccoli and rice every day - Yes, I believe he did that, but he only did it during the cutting phase, so probably just for a month or two. Chris Hemsworth was obviously on steroids, but he talks a lot of BS too about bodybuilding, eating etc. He even sell fake goals via his fitness app. I don't like that. So far I like Corenswet, he seems relatable and he seems to have had the idea of putting on as much as possible in a short space of time. That is not the right way to go about these things, but they have a time constraint they have to adhere to unfortunately. Henry Cavill is the only one I would venture almost 100% certainity of being natural. He was not ripped in Man of Steel and photos of him during that time showed he had no visible abs etc. He was just packing on mass and fat. I think the abs was added in post, like Snyder always does with his movies. I am looking forward to seeking Corenswets physique and whether he could be natural too. It is hard to tell based on the fully clothed photos we've got so far. Then again, Robert Pattinson was not massive or huge in The Batman and obviously natural too and he nailed the role anyway. It's not about the body, it's about the acting.

    David’s trainer is either a straight up liar or stupid LOL. He said David gained 40 lbs of solid muscle in 6 months. Not only does that sound incredibly stupid but it’s incredibly impossible. I think he definitely took steroids to gain 40 lbs of mass in 6 months. Most of that was probably fat. I’m on the latter of steroids. Not only is it cheating, it takes less effort to build muscle due to the protein synthesis and recovery aspect of steroids vs natural. They scare me but also I’d like to know how far I can push my own body naturally rather than taking the easy way out.

    • @KasperK-su9oz
      @KasperK-su9oz วันที่ผ่านมา

      40lbs in six months that's 6,6lbs a month (3kg pr month). Is that doable? Yes. Is it healthy? No. Is it all solid muscle? Hell nah! There is a saying that we can expect to put on 40lbs of muscle in a life time of bodybuilding and that is an insane amount of muscle. These Hollyweird trainers always exaggerate to make it seem wilder than it is. I believe David put on 40lbs in six month and I believe he looked too fat at some stage, so they had to do a cut. He has spoken about that his normal weight is 180-190lbs and he's never been happy about it, on the contrary to this video he has actually said that he wished he could be 230-240 again (peak weight before Superman). He attributed it to insecurity about his looks and the belief that he has a big head, so he feels his natural body composition doesn't fit his head. It's a good interview and he seems very down to earth and relatable: th-cam.com/video/bv3W8GmhYZM/w-d-xo.html
