    I love that V doesn’t just give us beautiful songs, he gives us small perfectly formed dramas that make us laugh, cry and think deeply. He is the real deal. So, so talented, original and creative.

    V is really a very good story teller and he has this creative way to elaborate his perception of things. The MV was like a dream, his emotions were portrayed in a exaggerated way. But damn, can we talk about his subtle facial expressions throughout the video? This guy just made me believe he's not the adorable Taetae that I know of in BTS. 🤧

    I loved your take on this. As usual Tae create content that gets us interpretations pinging in all direction, all valid and can be true. It’s very multi faceted content if we can see so many different interpretations.
    First of all, his vocals are amazing, he is showing us yet another side of his vocals. Tae gets me thinking of so many different interpretations of his MV’s and music. ONE of the many interpretation I got, is that it’s a witty, but a sad sarcastic take an idol’s life. They are lonely and they can’t have relationships only friends therefore everyone loves them but the pressure can cause ‘death’ and the second part is when they do have a relationship, then there is hate. And at the end of the day, they only have themselves to rely on until they stop being idols.
    I love that he is so experimental in chapter 2, trying so many different things and styles. The vocals with a soul choir at the end was a match made in heaven, it will be amazing live with a choir.

  • @fresser28

    Very good, thoughtful analysis. My view is that this is a sort of an actor's demo reel, rather like the video he made with IU. Taehyung has made no secret that he wants to be an actor; his friendships with successful, well-respected SK actors Choi Woo Shik (one of the stars of the Oscar winning film Parasite), Park Seo Joon and Park Hyung Sik (both very popular and well regarded K-drama lead actors) indicate that he wants to learn from the best and perhaps network through them. So in these MVs he's showcasing his acting skills. The song itself is a good R&B slow jam which shows his English has improved since Layover. He has featured an beautiful British actress as his female lead, which casts him as a viable male lead as did his appearance with IU in Love Wins All ("Look! I can be in a dystopian film just like Song Kang!"). Taehyung is nothing if not ambitious and a canny self-marketer, and as a member of an aging boy band, he's looking beyond pop music and modeling to expand his career options after he leaves the military. He's a very smart guy who wants to showcase all his talents.

    • @user-eu1qd6cp8j
      @user-eu1qd6cp8j 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      An aging boy band....it feels like a stab at the heart but it is actually true. I'm sure they all realize that by the time they come out of the military, most of them will be in their 30's. Even though they will retain their singing skills, pretty soon, their knees (and hips and ankles, etc) will not allow them to perform such intricate and high level choreos anymore. So I agree with you. Tae is looking ahead and is preparing to do more acting in the future. I will speculate that Tae's choice to go into the SDT unit is also part of the acting plan. He wants to develop extra skills and credibility for action films! (Again, my speculation.) I know many of us cannot wait for his next music release, for the BTS comeback and for Tae's next movie or drama.

    • @tytrack95
      @tytrack95 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You both make very good points. I also feel that Taehyung has a plan and he's laying down the foundation of it. One aspect is the acting: he's definitely preparing for his future as an actor through the medium he's always known which is music. Love Wins All and Fri(end)s are that and he has been praised for his acting skills in both works. It's also interesting that in both works he portrays a relationship and destiny and it's outcomes. I think that we will see more of V in different works other than music with his band and some of his choices will be just as (pleasantly) surprising as Layover album, Love Wins All MV and Fri(end)s MV were. Borahae.

    Thank you for tackling this one. I interpreted it much the same way ... as well as the humor in it and almost felt him trolling us a bit at the end... especially that smirk.
    So many commented after the trailers and asked WHY Tae always seems to have a death scene... and here he gives us TWO. So you have to see the humor in that.
    I reminded one distraught fan after the trailer who asked WHY "they" always kill off Tae's characters. I told her to remember that "V" is our "dramatic little coffee bean"... This is my personal nickname for him: Dramatic and full of energy. Sometimes dark energy. Sometimes smooth and sweet. It is so ironic that the one member who hated coffee and called it poison... is the ambassador for a coffee brand. Irony & duality should both have Tae's picture next to them in the dictionary. 😅
    I expressed that no one "did this TO him". I've done a little acting... and as actors nothing can be as interesting or fun as a good death scene. So what was better than one but TWO death scenes!? 😂 That is just Tae being Tae.
    From early on in his BTS career he was interested in developing various stage characteristics and personas; practicing even small gestures in order to give variety from stage to stage. He was the one to tackle rehearsing and performing both with BTS and a K-Drama at the same time... exhausting himself in the process. He's made many friends in the acting world.
    I find it highly likely that much of the concept for the video came from Taehyung himself... especially the ending.
    The only promises in life are that it WILL change and it WILL end. The story of the video has both... with the fact that in the end (no matter the path) we are left only with ourselves and our perceptions of who we are and our actions.

    💜Thank you for that analysis! I really enjoyed it, and agree with it for the most part. I particularly appreciated how you drew the line between V the man in real life, and V the actor, the characters he was portraying in the video. Sometimes it's very easy to confuse an actor with the character he plays, and assume everything he does in a role is his personal reality. This is especially true when the actor is as good as V, and can really bring a role to life, and make you believe it! I sometimes have to remind myself, too, that this is just acting. Someone bringing the make-believe to life.👍💜

    Спасибо за анализ, во многом согласна с вами. Ким Тэхен неординарно талантливый актёр, вокал бесподобный, но он ещё тонкий психолог, и он растёт, как профессиональный артист. Акцент в альбоме и в этом клипе на то, что общество непредсказуемо, не все твои желания принимают и понимают и самое главное, что жизнь может внести свои прерогативы, также внезапно закончиться, и вывод, только любить и ценить её, любить себя, свою свободу, быть в ладу с самим собой, своей душой. Что очень хороший вариант для всех. Тэхен умница.

    I love joining you in these videos! You are so insightful. I am a huge fan of BTS and all the boys. I have 3 children and they are all in the same age categories as these boys, so I do not see them in a sexualized way. I see them as first children that were put through great hardships (criticized, having death threats against them, and being accused of wrongdoing). They have come a long way and have rose above their hardships to become men of integrity. I will never forget RM being asked what he would like to be in the future, and he said a dad. As an older fan of this group, I see the young men coming out of service maybe wanting to find a partner to love and have a relationship and maybe even a family with. I think our Army is the greatest fandom there is. Hands down. However, I feel worried that if the boys do fall in love that some may attack the person the boys have a relationship with very fiercely. This worries me, because these young men are just people like you, and I. They may want to have a partner, children, and family life. My hope is that our beautiful army can see that the boys love them as true friends, and anyone that they choose as their partner would also love army, if they were given a chance. Also, looking into the future if these men have children, they can introduce their children to army. And then their children can also love army. What a beautiful thing that would be! Army needs to grow with these young men as they decide what they want for their lives. I really believe that we need to support them so that they feel that they can have a somewhat normal family life, and that they can find true love without backlash. Army is a wonderful force to be reckoned with, and can change the world with their generosity. Let us be generous with these young men and let them have the lives that they desire to have. That way, they will not feel like they need to choose between having a family and having army. It’s a taboo subject, but I wish that you could bridge that gap explaining that these men need to feel as though they have army support if they decide that they want to start a family or whatever they decide to endeavor after they come back from Service. Thank you again for all your wonderful insight. I have subscribed and I like your videos. Thank you for making them. I will definitely continue to watch!

    As usual, I enjoyed your analysis very much. Your reactions address more than just one or two aspects of a topic. You give us lots to think about! I was especially pleased to hear your remarks about V's vocal range in this song.
    I still remember when the first song, Love Me Again, came out. A few people commented, "What? No show-stopping falsettos?" But it never was a big topic for discussion. V was giving us so much else to talk about! Still, I remembered, and with every new song I wondered, "Will this be the one when he brings out those high notes?" But it never happened. Layover was a mellow album.
    When I heard Fri(END)s today, I immediately noticed V's return to his upper register, but I didn't find anyone else commenting on it. I think the puzzling storyline and intricate visuals had everyone distracted, lol! So, when I saw "THE VERSATILITY OF V's VOICE" on the screen here, I felt quite validated. 😊 When I saw that clip of Stigma that you included, I thought, "Yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about!" Thanks for sharing all your thoughts about V's voice, and about the other aspects of his new mv. 💜

    Wiem wiem zaraz mnie zhejtujecie ale moim zdaniem sztuka ma do nas przemawiać bez analizy. To wszystko jest zawiłe koncepcyjnie jak wszystkie działania, które podejmuje V. Usiłuje zagmatwać odbiór ale zagmatwanie obrazu nie czyni tego sztuką. Pląta narrację, ale życie jako takie jest znacznie prostsze. Konkludując, każdy nasz wybór powoduje skutek. Raz lepszy raz gorszy. Ale to my wybieramy, czy to miłość, czy przyjaźń czy też miłość własną. W każdym tym wyborze będą chwile szczęścia ale i samotności. Z mojego punktu widzenia pomimo, że każdy z nas kończy tak samo, czyli śmiercią, trzeba choć raz w życiu doświadczyć uczucia miłości, bo co jest warte życie bez drugiego człowieka obok siebie? Mimo wszystko życzę V sukcesu bo jest częścią BTS, których wspieram z całych sił.

    When I saw this mv, I thought how often we wish we had a partner because that’s the goal family & others want for us. Or our perception is everyone has someone but us. Then, it continues to “we are not worthy “ and this obsession leads to a symbolic death. However, sometimes, we have that relationship but also lose ourselves in that other person, ending with symbolic death of ourselves or that a relationship has gone sour . in life, the grass is not always greener on the other side, especially regarding relationships. It’s best to love oneself first, be comfortable with oneself and be careful what you wish for. I can’t wait to see how this story continues. This is like a k-drama with its ups and downs, peace & violence, funny & sad and a very creative imagination. And the song is so different than I expected. He has such talent. I remember watching the rehearsal for the last BTS concert . They were all warming up their voices and V sang opera !

    The dreams in this MV made me think of the movie Inception (amazing movie btw.)
    But this would be “Inception Bangtan Style.”
    What is reality and what is the dream?
    I was looking for a “totem”, a personal item only touched by the one person, that will let the person and the audience know if they are in a dream or reality. (Also from the movie.)
    I may be wrong, I probably am, but in the restaurant there is a traditional red and white popcorn theater container thrown up in the air during the fight in the restaurant. (So maybe a movie clue?)
    There was also a sign with red letters beside that huge hotdog the said “Reception” in the last scene. The camera spent more time than necessary on this word for it not to mean something.
    The camera even reveals it partially at first.
    Reception/Inception would be funny. And just like in Inception, there is debate to this day about some parts regarding Inception perhaps V and/or director thought it would be a great parody?
    Then again, what if it’s actually “V Visits Groundhog Day?” The second day is just like the first except the emotions. The people on the bus and store are even in the same clothes.
    I’m going with V’s version of Inception. And yes, I have had entirely too much caffeine today!

    The message and concept is cool but is it only me who found the kissing scenes a bit too much..Like the whole mv was filled with that..Made me a bit uncomfortable😅(Don't come after me,just a pure PERSONAL opinion)

      No offence, but I'm not entirely sure that you paid attention throughout, distracted perhaps by all the snogging in the first half.
      But to answer your question - no I wasn't bothered at all. The exaggerated nature of the loving and the arguing was dramatic licence to emphasise the emotional uncertainty. But each to their own.

    There are some shots of a same-sex kiss, so does this mean that Kim Taehyung supports gays? I hope for an accurate answer

    • @ST-qv3hn

      Why are only the Arabs so obsessed with those shots? It's called "acting". Everyone there was acting. If you go to their personal accounts you'll see they're all straight & married with kids. They're supposed to make everything look "exaggerated". The MV's genre is "black humour". And don't forget the fact it's directed and produced by an English company

      @@ST-qv3hn So Taehyung does not support homosexuality, right? Can you explain the song to me, the Arabs say because of these shots that Taehyung supports homosexuality, is this true?

    • @ST-qv3hn
      @ST-qv3hn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@user-ku8pk8dy1i The song and music video have different meanings. Only some Arabs don't want to understand it and they didn't even listen to the song or watched the MV. The song is about him wanting to end his friendship and become more than just that. Meanwhile the story of the MV is :
      When he was alone, everyone was happy. Nobody saw or cared about him and he didn't care about anyone's happiness as well. Then he was hit by a car and didn't care because he wasn't happy with his life
      But when he was finally with someone, proud and loud, HAPPY, everyone was in chaos and mad but he didn't care about them too because he was too happy and in love to see anyone else but it k!lled him in the end
      So he ended up with being with himself instead. He's tired of waking up to himself but he accepted his reality and fate that he got only himself
      Mirrored life of an idol in the industry. The music video is "black humour" genre and the scenes are exaggerated by purpose because it's dark comedy

      @@user-ku8pk8dy1i weren't armys and kths wishing Tae to act in Hollywood, netflix, HBO or squid game? All those platforms include LGBT couples in their series. Even squid game had that. If he acts there someday there will be queer couples in the series or movies he acts in but it doesn't mean we make everything about him. This is the western industry
