He really tried to get into the root of the man's history (subsequently, his crime[s]), neither appealing to any subjective matters like politics or emotion nor trying to elicit any responses he deemed necessary to make the criminal look more evil than he is.

Modern day criminals giving interviews are brainwashed by Hollywood and the CIA mockingbird agenda. The interviewers these days are essentially interrogation artists. It is as if the interviewers/ show hosts today have a hand up the interviewees ass , they use them like puppets.

      @@PaulsTH-cam You haven't read very much old literature then. Try reading things form the 1800's. Their sentence structure was _much_ more complex than ours. It's a natural tendency to move from complex words diction, to simpler. We used to call it a taximeter-cabriolet. Then it was a taxi-cab. then it was a taxi. Then it was a cab.

    • @michaelrose93
      @michaelrose93 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@PaulsTH-cam So am I. My grandmother was showing my mom a bunch of old letters (from the very early 1900s or earlier) and she was amazed at how long and complex their sentences were. My mom asked if that's the way people wrote back then and she said that it was. Just look at modern journalists, many of them can barely write, they have no command of English whatsoever.
      Besides, even if you compare _professional_ writers of a couple hundred years ago to ones today, you will usually find that their sentences were longer and more complex, and if that was the case for them, we can infer it was also the case for the common speaker.
      P.S. Even in my own life, I have witnessed the English language devolve to an extent I never thought possible.

      @@hoodyk7342 maybe, but its hard to read someone in just a few minutes. Like, if you got into trouble VERY often it might become easy to keep your cool during interviews where as someone that gets in trouble the first time and didn't want to would probably flip out. He absolutely does have something mental going on but I'd say its hard to know exactly what, but i wouldn't say stress is the only thing that make that true or not since you can feel stressed but sound calm.
      Psychopathy is also horribly misrepresented by media as well, a lack of understanding of other does make it easy to be a bad person but some people also forget that some people with psychopathy or other anti-social things going on can sometimes get treatment that works well enough for them to stay out of trouble or even have families of their own. It doesn't quite relate to this guy but I did want to point out that what you think psychopathy is MIGHT be different then how it works in real life since it works on a scale, and isn't a "on or off" type illness.
      TLDR: youre probably right but i see a lot of people label every criminal they see a "psychopath" and it gets kind of annoying

      Good point! I noticed that too. I bet people sixty years from now will think we have an odd cadence in our voice.
      However, people are amazingly good at adopting the speech mannerisms appropriate to their environment - especially when they’re under thirty. After thirty, those speech mannerisms are kind of fixed and hard to lose.
      I studied languages in college, and forty years later I couldn’t possibly do that now. A new language? At my age? Extremely unlikely.

    • @thetooginator153
      @thetooginator153 6 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      John Vigil - It’s interesting to ponder why there was so little difference between the speech patterns of the interviewer and the criminal. The fifties had a good economy and a lot of resources for education (for most people), so, even criminals had a decent education.
      Today, you can tell a person’s social and economic status just by listening to them for a few seconds. I knew a guy who spoke like a hood in his early twenties and now you would never know he ever spoke like that. His “hood” speak was an affectation he used to fit in with his friends at the time though. People can affect speech patterns amazingly well when they’re young.

The gentle way to say would be "i dont wanna talk about it". In Germany we would translate "its none of your business" as "das geht dich nichts an". When you say "das geht dich nichts an" to the person you talk to, chance is high he/she feels offended. The guy with the mask in the video knew that thats why he chose this wording. It should underline his "aura". That leads to the conclusion that chance is high its an paid actor or a jerk.

It's not his business. but Today though, we would expect there to be follow up and Investigation into what was going on. we feel like it's our right to know, which is why people won't do interviews like this anymore. And also, the police would be waiting right outside.
