Everyone has a story though. My 82 year old dad has been taking care of me for decades & he has watched every minute of every televised golf tournament since retiring from being a pilot (for Northwest - a real airline). He’s a golf nut like Kathleen. Brought me to a tournament in Orlando but wasn’t as excited. Ball goes up and people clap or go oh no. Couldn’t follow ball. Saw Chi Chi Rodriguez and Fuzzy Zellar and they seemed fun 🤷♀️ He went to a Masters practice round and is very proud of his hat. I’m more into NASCAR merch. Everyone has a sport not everyone enjoys. Kathleen seems to like them all. Long way to say many many people deserve good things. He’s a Navy veteran too. Sorry for what your husband is going through. Sounds like you have a good guy. ❤️

I’m a mail carrier and we have 2 turkeys and 2 different routes in our office that aren’t scared of people at all. They will walk right at you! They peck at the tires and one stood right in front of my vehicle and wouldn’t move. I was playing chicken with a turkey😂

Hi Kathleen! I am SO disappointed that you are coming to the town where I was born and raised while I will be on my first vacation in 4 years! RATS. I would really have come if possible. Regarding the Luther Burbank Center...that place was originally built as a massive "modern" church in the 70s, called the Christian Life Center. At first, it was a huge success. After 12 years, there was a financial scandal and the pastor was asked to leave. It sat vacant into the 80s, when it was purchased as a performing arts center and renamed to the Luther Burbank Center.. But that huge pillar statue thing in front, used to hold a cross. I was born just a few miles from there and, though I live in San Francisco now, I'd definitely drive up to see you! Please come back soon!
My mom loves chocolate covered Marshmellowo eggs and mallomars cookies which are only made in the fall because real chocolate and melt so she hid these from us kids 😋 because I love chocolate covered stuff too 😋

Here's a crazy/weird turkey story....my 22 year old daughter is almost finished with her law enforcement degree in Northern Indiana. She was doing a ride along with a state trooper last week when they were called to an accident scene. A turkey flew into a semi driver's windshield and broke it, sliced the driver's face with it's beak and was dead in the cab of the truck. They had to wait for medical to come and treat the driver's wound. Don't know who removed the dead turkey! Butterball??

Been going to The Outer Banks off & on for 40+ yrs. I also enjoy history & books. I’ve read a # of books about The Lost colony by local NC Authors. Given how extreme…And can’t stress how extreme both summer & winter were, I think the colony was in way over their abilities. I think that the Indians weren’t as helpful as we’d like to romanticize they were about these squatters & claiming their land. I’d put $$$ on the Indians reaching their last nerve w/the earliest version of “OBX Tourists”! I’d say they disposed of them. I’ve also sat thru’ several decades of performances of The Lost Colony Play in Manteo too going back to Summer of 1977!

The McCanns accidentally over-medicated their daughter, and she died. Bunch of doctors left their kids locked in their rooms while they went out and drank and partied for hours at night on vacation. Kids wake up. They had to drug them. Maddy probably aspirated and choked. They all lied to cover for each other. They were all doing it. Cadaver dogs alerted in 4 places: behind their couch, on a stuffed toy, on the mom's dress, and in the car trunk. It's ridiculous they weren't all charged with child endangerment. It's like the Ramseys. They will lie to the end to cover their shame, even though no one of age intentionally hurt anyone.
It’s breeding season that’s why turkeys and grouse will charge…If you have ever cooked or cleaned a wild turkey you’d know the bird is smaller than a store bought chicken.
I have never had wild turkey but am wondering about the taste, too. I think you could simmer a wild turkey in water for a long time or maybe pressure cook it for an hour to make it tender. I don’t know if it would taste too gamy. Some wild meats are way too gamy for me!
