Kkkkkk Precious we have those there in Zim we call them madhumbudya people eat them yes they have sessions if you grow in rural areas you have known them very nice
They are there in Zimbabwe but they come once in a while not every time like in Uganda. Here in Zimbabwe we call them Madhumbudhla. They are a type of grasshoppers. I remember eating them in 1967.they invaded this country.
My girl precious its not locusts but its almost in that kind of species 😂 but not the exact same one ❤ I love that so much in Uganda I don't miss the season 😂
Madhumbudhla in shona. If my memory saves me well the swarms used to come towards end of winter season, at least in Masvingo. We used to literally pick them up early morning because they will be immobilised by the cold. We would fill up baskets. When the sun comes out like around 8am and it's a bit warmer they would start flying away. Very delicious, very good protein source. 🎉
I used to catch them by the tower light after it has rained in Manicaland we call them tsunaruna. I even saw one live one in my house yesterday...its that time of the year to catch them
I grew up eating them in Gweru All my childhood 80s until I left Zimbabwe in 1994. They are very very very delicious. They are protein packed and very very good for our health. Thank you
Grasshoppers come from deserts in search of vegetation and morning condensed water in grass .. they lay eggs in desert sand when they hatch they fly to vegetated area.. around equatorial places during wet seasons.
@TheMawejjeFamilyChannel I can never get myself ti to eat them. It's just like I can never eat the Haruwa. It's a delicacy here in Zim that's eaten by Zimbabweans from the eastern part in Zim. Precious when you visit Zim next introduce our mukwasha to haruwa
Our wife, Nsenene is the present day mana from the Bible so it must be holy. I don't think you should worry about number two 😂 they only appear twice in a year.
