Did they do any other songs like Poem? Whatever album I start to listen by them, this is the most catchiest and the other stuff is quite different, even on the same album
I remember seeing them on this tour and at the end of the set the drummer threw a signed drum head in the audience, and I caught it, me, and my friend started walking through the crowd and out of nowhere see David the singer from disturbed and I had him sign it too. I had that thing hanging up in my room till I left for college and when I came back on my first break, my mom had thrown it away
There's been a few clips of this on TH-cam forever just one angle and maybe three songs. And here's the full show. You're the best bro. Might tune my guitar down to drop A to celebrate.
try drop #G or drop#f if you dare ...I've been playing on Baritones since 2005 I've tuned down to #G#D#G#A#C#F on my Ibanez Baritone the same exact model that Mike Dewolf is playing on in this set, it's a GREAT GUITAR
@@ChairmanPaulieD I have a baritone Viper and a Ibanez 7 string but I've never tuned either all the way down to drop G#. I do however have an octave pedal I use when I want to play Staind songs in drop G#.
HolidayKirk well #A and #G are ALMOST close in tuning that low but if you experiment in DROP #F it’s def a whole step down and A LOT MORE MUDDIER SOUNDING
I remember playing Tru Crime: Streets of LA on my Gamecube and Poem came on, and I instantly wrote the name down. Had it on my drumming playlist ever since.
Wish I got to see these guys live at one point, so thank you for uploading this! I love Taproot's music so much, one of the most underatted Nu-Metal bands of all time. They truly could have been the next big thing and its a shame they never reached that point.
Cool dude I also love this band. Mikes guitar style is so fn badass, also the way Stephen cold go from a perfect pitch singing to a fn roar without taking a breath.
Never really liked this type of singing but for some reason back when this album came out I fell in love with it (the album). For some reason I like the way he does it with this music. This album is severely underrated imo. I liked maybe 2 songs off the following album but Gift is amazing from start to finish imo. Haven't heard much from anything following their second album but wasn't really into what I did hear. But I'll always like Gift.
i got to perform live with taproot when tjey2played Buffalo ny in like 2005??? i was in front of the stage singing every song word for word stephen looks at me and throws me the FUCKING microphone!!!!
With this Ozzfest being the first show of the tour, Disturbed was originally headlining the Second Stage, that's why Stephen mentions them at 10:07. They wound up getting such a huge response that they were upgraded to the Main Stage for the rest of the tour, leaving Mudvayne and Taproot as co-headliners. Would you happen to have the full Disturbed set from this particular day?
@@CallMeJabber So was I! I remember Dave Draiman actually came out right in front of stage while Taproot or Mudvayne were setting up. Got his autograph but lost it in the pit lol.
Woah.. never seen a live show. Ive known Gift like word for word for 20 years but today realized I didn't even know what the dudes looked like. And singer sounds exactly like he does on record, thanks for the upload. Strange how they didn't play Comeback on this set.. that woulda been their radio song in 2001 right?
@@BradNolanVideography man just think of all the privately held live bootlegs out there... Tape trading was such a cool thing back in the day. I use TH-cam mostly for stuff like this.
@creekandseminole I record every show I go to. Not this one. I had 2 disposable cameras on me! That ozzfest was tits. Slipknot. LP was getting big. Early Disturbed. American Head Charge. Nonpoint. No One. Spineshank. Taproot. BLACK SABBATH!! (Ozzy, Ward, Butler & Iommi!!) Mudvayne. Spineshank. Drowning Pool w/ Dave. BLS. Marilyn Manson. Pops Roaches. Crazy Town I heard was supposed to be there but I think they got booted out. That was a decent year for Ozzfest.
Drop A on a six string with fatter strings never tuned up past A is just as fat and sexy as a 7 or 8 string and where i got the idea to use the same thing in my band Windupface. The EP is on my channel
Sucks that Taproot are no longer an active band...especially since they had some moderate succcess after the 'wave' died out. The Episodes was a stinker of an album to end their career, sadly.
Their first 2 albums were gold🤘🏻
Absolute, TRUTH.
Very underrated
Blue sky research was criminally underrated
their 3rd is pretty good but definitely their last good album
I agree. I was listening to it today. Half the album is very, very good. Definitely my favorite Taproot album.
Such an underrated band. They had some groove and finesse. Always loved the combi vocals of whiney clean and sick screamo, and the lyrics.
Makes me miss 2001 and my old nu metal band.
I was in attendance... amazing this exists on youtube.
I love taproot....original....like system of a down....they do their own thing in their own sub genre. Always original.

@Pierce Lennox Flixportal xD
@Trent Oakley Thank you, I went there and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it !
@Pierce Lennox you are welcome xD
I love this band. Michigan....represent!!
The dynamic duo of Mirror’s Reflection and Dragged Down!
that was such a good way to start a set

Mirrors reflection straight into Dragged down is fucking perfect just like the album
very ahead of the times

I remember thinking C was like shooting arrows with my guitar when learning some soulfly!! But B with chevelle and these guys.
I first saw Taproot May 2000 at Deep Ellum Live in Dallas with Primer 55 and Staind. Taproot blew me away instantly.

STILL listening to Taproot in 2022 since 2000 .. at least you gotten to see them LIVE, they’re one of the bands I haven’t gotten to see yet ☹
I was there too and yes it was an amazing ozzfest. Seeing Mudvayne on the 2nd stage was amazing.

I read that Jack Osbourne had discovered Taproot in his younger years and told his mother Sharon about them to put them on the bill for Ozzfest
I saw them at ozzfest in 2001@@ChairmanPaulieD

They were one of those bands that should have been bigger.
Thanks for uploading this 👍

Luckily got to see them on Halloween , all wearing ski masks. Opened up for Deftones and Incubus.
Did they say it was taproot or was it a surprise?
My son told me to add a comment.
Wore out these CDs
Never seen this before. Awesome!
Wish i was born for this i was born a month later lmao
Yup you we’re in infant diapers lol 😂
I saw them play at Ozzfest twice that summer in Camden. They had I in the setlist the first time.

Somewhere in his videos, I saw it coming through a few weeks back.

Does anybody know how is Stephen doing health wise?, he's been having some seizures for what I read and he's really really thin today :(
Checked the accounts. He is skinny but not that much. But he cannot hold a pick it seems. Do you know what disease he is fighting?
Saw these support Deftones with Linkin Park Manchester Apollo 2001. Linkin park were the best band that night. Great show though

This looks like it was filmed in 1985, I mean look up Metallica day on the green with cliff and it’s literally the same quality haha

Poem sounds a little different
Rather hear this than the new deftones that sucks now
Not only the harmonies on the album are not live but he can’t even sing the regular vocals… 🤦♂️
No
Then u try it bitch
wow .... they suck
