    I am definitely buying this book, Salman Uncle.
    I am deeply saddened by the pain and agony that arises in realizing how people who love each other, turn against one another guided by mob mentality. How frail is the human psychology, that gets carried away by ideas and discourses, which could be lethal for a society.
    I want to apologize as a fellow human being from the other side of the border. May the sanity prevail!

    • @salmanrashid8880
      @salmanrashid8880 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You are very kind, beti. Your apology means very much to me. But remember that Mahendra Pratap sahib had rendered an apology on behalf of his late father. One can only hope that we learn to live amicably with one another. The book has much more than this three-part series.

    Great courage, you are courageous that you explained the series of e ents unbiasedly. My forefather were Saadat of Narnol, now in haryana. 90% family lost brutally. My maternal grand father was ustad e shahar. My grand father side was spiritual. Now the shrine of my forefather went in a haveli, one is left - Hazrat Miran Tajuddin, sher Sawar rehmat ullah.

    While I had read the story before it made me cry again. Unbelievable. Hum kitni chutia qaum hain, ek doosray ko maara or kehtay hain qurbanian deen. Konsi qurbani? Nihatay logoen ko maar diya... Bay qasoor... Something now termed as hate crimes. Saw that in Rwanda as well... But continues in the form of hindu Muslim, shia sunni, ahmedi, Christian lynching etc. Nobody teaches ethics in our society. We are completely devoid of ethics as a nation... No parents ever consider inculcating it, much less know about it... We're all, hindu Muslim and sikhs all blinded by mere religious morals, which we ignore at will... Kummi kameen qaum incubated by colonialism and living under the yoke of foreign invaders for millennia ...

She almost lost her memory at the time of death even forgot the name of her children's (my mamo's and khala's) but she remembered the names of her 4 brothers till her last breath... Vinaashkaale viprita buddhi, all I can do now is share tears with multitudes of such people , who lost all sense of home and belonging. Events like these do something to a community, they become belligerent, angry , frustrated. And that civilisational trauma stays long after the victims are gone .
    A similar episode of madness did take place in Bengal too .
    Om shanti , to all aatma who lost life and livelihood in the partition of “our” nation.
    In India , we did have the paksha masa shraddh, in this we do shraaddhakaarya for all souls who have no one left. Maybe some of us will do kriya for the victims as well . Sabhi anaath atmaon ko moksh prapt ho. Sabhi anaath atmaon ko moksh prapt ho. 🙏🏾

    indeed it was. Once my paternal grandfather blurted out that we cut 7 necks while coming to Pakistan. He used to live in Kabootri Darwazah, Gurdaspur city. at that time, he was 17. He would wear turban in Gurdaspur style till he died. When he blurted out he was 76 . there was no further conversations after it. My maternal uncle grandfather, said that they killed a Hindu who was hiding in the bushes with spear. They were temporarily staying in Government High School Jaranwala. I was shocked, shaken, moved, etc., so couldn't ask details in both situations. He revealed it after or before one or two years above stated event. My maternal family used to live close to Mirza pur police station in Taran Taarn, Amritsur. Only three five elders told me that 'we' took killed people. Point is, I apologize to families of those killed people.

      Ather Sheheryar, you are a better person than your elders. This is an endemic sickness of the Muslim mind to take pride in killing followers of other religions. I have not met a single Muslim who committed this grave sin during Partition and was contrite about it. We are strange people.
