The big problem is that we are still thinking like people of the 19th century. Enough of Marxism and capitalism. They have also deceived us with that of "democracy", which is not the power of the people, but of politicians, companies, churches, etc. We need a radical change, like the Resource-Based Economy, like the one proposed by Jacque Fresco. There are no politicians in an EBR society, there are public administrators who are experts in what they do. They have studied administration, various engineering, mathematics, sociology, psychology, medicine, other sciences, etc., but none of them have studied political science or that thing that they now call economics and pretend it is a science, nothing could be further from the truth.

His views aren't extreme. He talks a good rhetoric game on domestic affairs though in the end he is the carrot on the stick to bring phony liberals who lack critical thinking into the corporate capture of the US state while he stays silent in the back row when it comes to action. Talking and action aren't the same thing.

Those who have a vested interested in keeping the status quo i.e. 1% billionaires own and controlling everything

    • @joevignolor4u949
      @joevignolor4u949 ปีที่แล้ว

People in general aren't capable of a balanced perspective on anything. It's always one extreme or the other. Capitalism or socialism, liberal or conservative, left or right, it's always one extreme or the other. Instead of replacing one with the other, capitalism and socialism could be combined to produce socially responsible capitalism. Instead, the pendulum just keeps swinging back and forth between both extremes instead of reaching an equilibrium in the middle.

I am a Canadian , living in Eastern Ontario on the St. Lawrence River at Brockville . Bernie lives in Burlington Vermont , about one hundred miles east of my town . I think that living in Vermont , on the Canadian border has had an influence on Bernie as regards to our social safety net which is non existent in the States . Citizens there can lose all their savings and property due to medical debt because they had the misfortune to become ill or had someone in the family fall ill . What the hell is that ? If that doesn't sound like Orwell's ' Animal Farm ' where the 'Pigs ' are in control of everything , then what does ? A good interview by Sophy , who obviously likes Bernie and employed non of the usual attack dog tactics of the right wing media on him .

As a dual UK/US citizen who knows everything about US politics and life, I was truly startled to move to the US last year and see the Market Concentration in each sector that Bernie speaks about. It really is true that it seems that in every sector, some 2-3 companies basically dominate about 60-80% of the market share leaving any sense of competition or price controls in rear view mirror. I'm a free market capitalist like anyone else but left unchecked there is no threshold they won't cross. As Bernie so thoughtfully explains, it is not radical at all to want workers to be paid fair wages, to fight inequality, provide health care and good education, to want peace in the world, fight hatred and protect the planet we live on! What is however, extremely radical, is to seek to undermine all of those things, as we see all the time with the radical right and billionaires that fund them. The group dominating all others easily dictates the public consciousness. When we had a wasp elite culture reflected their values and mourned their historical sufferings. With a Judaic elite, we collectively adhere to their sensibilities and obsess over their historical sufferings, their villains are our villains, etc. Change will only come when a different group seizes power at the top. A new culture filter changes our perception of normalcy and history.

That process should be sent to the United Nations and the United Nations should send in OSCE observers (and possibly peacekeeping forces) to oversee a credible referendum on Scotland's independence referendum. Having a neutral international organization to oversee these things allows both sides to recognize the results of how the referendum plays out. It's crazy how its the most moral thing to do yet every country is against it for its own interest. It kills the facade of democracy.

Fun fact, wealth inequality is primarily a result of being paid in fiat currency while companies compete for the thriftiest workforce.

      1. Centralization of business.
      2. Centralized currency backed by nothing.
      3. The Fed
      4. Business collusion with government
      5. Vertically monopolized media
      6. Too much unskilled immigration too soon, increasing the “supply” of workers and driving the “demand”
      7. Inaffordable education
      8. Lack of social welfare policies due to government corruption
      9. Military industrial complex
      10. Stock market bailouts
      11. Hedge funds algorithmically stealing money in circular investment schemes (BlackRock)
      12. General economic ignorance - and deliberately so - amongst even the college educated
And the most important: financial sector deregulation.
