    Brushing your dogs teeth regularly can really help prevent dental disease like this.

      Dental sticks for them to chew also help a lot.🖤🇨🇦

      @@theresarasche3173 You can teach them to let you with time. Would suggest looking on TH-cam for tutorials on training them to accept it. Is also helpful to be able to check their mouth if you need to in emergencies. :)

      @@tamarrajames3590 There is a lot of back and forth about whether Dental Sticks actually work, but in general it's no-where near as good as brushing their teeth.
      There are dogs fed Dental Chews daily but still will require a number of dental surgeries in their lives, so where is may reduce some dental diseases, you are ultimately still feeding a food to clean teeth and some of those chews will contain ingredients like sugar, which we know is bad for teeth.

      @@Kuro_Reaper I think that, like most aspects of animal care, requires researching the products well, and choosing the best. I agree that brushing is the way to go where possible, but well formulated and judicially applied chews can be a positive part of canine tooth care…and way better than nothing.🖤🇨🇦

    Why do you guys not use masks for the surgeries? Do you like spitting germs into the open wound of your patients and endangering them?

    • @tweets009
      @tweets009 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      they definitely do use masks for surgeries for obvious reasons so the fact that they didn't here means that they just didn't need to

    • @NoTrustBoy
      @NoTrustBoy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @tweets009 It's a surgery, you always need to use masks. I also am a veterinarian, and on numerous occasions, have I been told to use a mask and proper gear for ANY and ALL types of surgery. You expose your patients to possible pathogens for no reason and add a layer of danger that is unnecessary, no matter how small it is. This is a crime, and I have no doubt.

      @@NoTrustBoyinstead of making self righteous assumptions about the circumstances of the situation, how about you worry about YOUR patients and allow this seasoned vet do his job- a job he does just fine by the way!

    • @NoTrustBoy
      @NoTrustBoy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @saragrant9749 Not self-righteous at all. Did you know it's law to call out other medical professionals for wrongdoings? Not wearing proper gear for surgeries is a huge problem. As a medical veterinarian myself, I worry about every patient, not only mine. Which would be a self-righteous thing to do.
      I commented with no hate in my heart whatsoever, I did with worry for the patients that are being put in harms way unnecessarily. I know you'd love to be secure that your beloved animals are getting proper and top-tier treatment. This doctor does a great job, don't get me wrong. He is indeed amazing. But it does worry me he is not taking the correct precautions.

    • @saragrant9749
      @saragrant9749 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NoTrustBoy I’m well aware of that. There is NO medical wrong doing here. First off, this is the UK, not America so they may have different thoughts about certain policies. Second of all- again- you know nothing of the full circumstances of what was going on there. You’ll have to excuse the rest of us for knowing that the room itself is far more dirty and germ laden than any human being could ever be… and that is FACT the world over. I have no doubt this dog received absolutely fantastic care under a highly skilled veterinarian, and his owners are clearly very happy with the results. If he was doing invasive surgery, opening up the dog’s abdomen or chest he would have worn a mask, as has been proven. I’ve seen a multitude of vets who didn’t wear a mask for a small surgery like a lump removal. They thoroughly cleansed the site, closed it up and gave the animal an injection of long lasting antibiotics to prevent any potential infection. You’ll observe he DID wear one for the teeth work, which was substantially more invasive and dirty work.
