491 and 494 visa processing time is more than 2 years and they keep saying they need immigrants in regional areas.

Thank you but what is point of punishing onshore students who are over 35,two years ago Australia put in measures to safeguard their universities, now they got the money they wanted from the people and now they dump them, now what is the difference between Australia and third world countries in terms of policy inconsistencies, this hour they say this in less than a year they say this.Look at Zimbabwe it changes policies and currencies will nily to its advantage now that country is in the same squad with Australia as they flip flop around these policies. Did these students hack into the home affairs system and award themselves Visas, most students borrow from banks to study in India now how will they repay those loans ,this is pure evil at least they should have exempted onshore students

For example studying aerospace engineering in south australia doesn't give scope to jobs in the same field, they ae giving jobs to either pr holders or Australian citizens, then how can the students apply for 491 or 190. So even if the international students are worthy enough since they don't get PR, they are forced to return to their home countries after spending a huge amount on studies. Previously the SA government had something like long term resident, that should be introduced again. That would justify the situation

All seems meaning less. 491 visa processing times are crazy. I have been waiting for more than a year but still no response from department.

Do you think there’ll be more allocations in 24-25 compared to 23-24 given the fact they want to focus more on regional occupancy?

I have submitted my 491 EOI in December 2022 for SA & WA till date no invite, what will happen? even they invite me tomorrow, then I need 2 more years to grand a visa? by the time My IELTS and Skill assessments will be expired. we wasted a lot of money in this process and left with only stress.

The invite will lock in your validity of most of your documents except your partner relationship and state sponsorship requirements. That is, even if those documents expire, as long as they are valid at the time of invitation you are fine.
As for when the invite will come though, last year is tough. Hopefully this July we will get more quota for invites.

@@luisalvarezsuarez6408 I don’t think so. Because current year is highly competitive due to lesser quota.
