OK, anyone who see this, go to settings and in the general area hit network settings. Then select the tap that says go offline. After that just sign in and it should work and then go back to settings and hit go online.

@darealstatic oh- I fixed all that but the xbox game core pass that I downloaded is completely shut down- I'm sure I'm not the only 1 dealing with this- making me regret getting an xbox- never had issues with my ps5- but thanks for replying- that was a pain.

I power cycled my xbox. it fixed it. hold the power button on your console for 10 seconds until it shuts off. then unplug the power brick completely, wait a few minutes till the orange light turns off, then plug everything back. wait another few mins then turn it back on.
