Got the Galaxy A54 5G 256GB 8GB variant at 38K during the launch offer but I got the Galaxy Buds Live at 1K and free 25watt charging adapter. So the effective price of the phone alone came down to 35K which ( could have availed further 3K discount ) if I used SBI CC.
Been using the phone for around a month and half now. My personal experience is pretty good.
The design language, form factor and build quality ( except for the polycarbonate frame ) are off the charts for a mid ranger.
The display and the picture quality ( if you value and understand what I mean ) are outstanding. It supports HDR on TH-cam and Amazon Prime. Dosen't support on Netflix yet. I am used to OLED TV so I value picture quality and high refresh rates.
Yes the battery takes about 80 mins to charge from 0 to 100 and yes certainly could have been much better at this price range. Once its fully charged it has always lasted close to 2 days with light usage and more than a day with moderate to heavy usage. ( voice calls. Whatsapp video calls, hours of browsing, watching YT videos and streaming content from OTT , office calls on MS Teams, etc.) I dont play games on my phone. I didnt experience any lag or sluggishness while operating the phone or while switching between apps. Yeah it may not be the snappiest around but nothing thay I should be worried about.
Now I am an amateur photographer so as far as the optics are concened, I wouldnt say that I have anything to complain. There is a slight shutter lag during certain shots I have observed. The camera is just a tool remember. If you know how to take good photos the primary optics on this device will surpirse you with its capabilities.
Over the past month and half of usage It has fallen from a height of 2 - 3 feet at least 5 times without being in a case. Believe me not even a single scratch.. But Inhad put it the pocket with few coins and keys, it landed up with a slight scratch on the screen. I have now put a tempered glass and a transparent case just to be safe than sorry 😂
Overall I can say that since I was able to get a mid ranger from a non Chinese brand with solid looks and build, superb display, great battery life performance, capable optics and secure , reliable platform supporting 4 OS updates and 5 years of security updates at an effective price of 35K , I am a happy camper. If this was availabe at an selling price of 32 - 35k this would have been a no brainer in my opinion.

I've always thought Samsung phones were overpriced. The A54 might make sense in western markets which is home to MKHBD's target audience. But in a cost conscious market like India there are way cheaper and better alternatives available. Yes, Samsung phones come with a better update cycle and a more refined UI, but that does not offset the lack of a charger in the box ,the cost of which most people don't realise has to be added on to an already expensive phone !

i am using that same phone now. Just got it like two weeks ago and i have not seen the same issues that he has saw. Mine is a 8GB ram model. its ruining one U.I 6.0. Its a 90% flagship experience in my opinion. I am not a heavy user on a per app basis but i always have Spotify or TH-cam in the background and some kind of social media and even a video call running at he same time, but i have not replicated his cons. It might be due to the fact that, the phone has been out for almost 7 months and Samsung has had ample time to catch up on the optimizations. Never the less, shows you that reviewers need to be reviewed too. They often cover a product only at launch and never revisit or can revisit the product, genuinely , due to the short time they spend with phones relative to the expected 3-4 years a person MIGHT keep this phone and Samsung would keep it updated, a promised 4 years. until android 17. The cameras were a pleasant surprise especially the ultrawide. Main cam is a 50 Meg snapper with optical level stabilization which takes really nice day time shots with enough light and low light is also acceptable too if the subject is not in complete darkness. the macro cam is a feature i only used once so that is that. On the display its amazing! samsung known how to calibrate a screen. BTW i dally drove a redmi note 10 pro for about 2 years, i know what a good screen should look like.
All in all this phone is dope if you are considering this or a xiaomi get this one in the same price group. flashy specs dont mean day to day usage will be great in fact when a phone is marketed for one specific halo feature that means other aspects are often overlooked. The samsung brand is a brand that has been around for a long time, they know a thing or two about daily usage and they nailed it with the a 54. I will probably get the ultra phones they have next and wont switch untill Jesus comes to take me home.

Ok, let's be a little linient on the phone. Lets ignore the heating and performance issue because phone is still usable. Then also, battery life is bad. I need to charge twice a day. Though it is not as bad as my previous phone (iPhone 11) but that phone was 2 years old.

Samsung A series peaked when they released the A50/30 series.
After that they kept on pushing the price, using same chipsets, thicker bezels even at high prices. It looks like a complete joke to buy A series at any price points.

If I buy an S23 Ultra UAE/TRA version, activate it in Dubai with a local Sim, and then bring it to India, will the call recording work the same way it works with Samsung Indian phones? And will WhatsApp audio call work in India?

@@Alienfromgalaxy homo sapien I'm an old school guy. And I will take at least the microSDXC card slot as long as I get that over a great camera. Don't wanna whine over monthly cloud bills. The A54 might have an average camera. But Pixel will never have expandable storage. A54 doesn't have a shabby camera. Then again I am buying it for my father. He's pissed with the A33 he bought last year. Dads , you know. Will buy the cheapest for themselves but will get the best thing they can for ANYONE else in the family. I wish Chinese brands were trustworthy enough. But then I will never buy a Vivo or iQOO since they don't have stereo speakers and sometimes miss out on the microSDXC card slot too. That's why Xiaomi Redmi / Poco or even OnePlus Nord CE series / Oppo are still OK.
