  • This is a more heart-felt video that i've wanted to make for almost four years now. Collecting is something that can be incredibly fun, but can easily become dangerous. In this video I detail a time in my life where I was completely overwhelmed and stuck. Not sure what to do. And honestly just unhappy. Little did I know that happiness would come in the form of heartbreak.
I hope this video helps someone out there who may be struggling with the same issue I was. You are not alone. A huge thank you to all who have supported my channel so far. And I can not wait for what the future holds.

incredible video, love this arc for you loool. i really understand where you are coming from and suffered a similar issue a few years ago. I have really come to terms with collecting what truly matters to me and what i find to be valued in the communities i enjoy taking part in (the jurassic toy one definely being the most kind, resilient, creative, and dedicated community i've witnessed) i appreciate you sharing this story and really giving insight on what you think of the matter. i'm interested in more of your takes of these toys down the line :-)

yeah this struck home to me. I used to be super into collecting star wars, legos, you name it. then disney bought the franchise and I was kinda done. I looked at my need for gas money and decided to part ways with like half or more of my stuff. like you said, I do wish I'd kept like 1 or 3 things, but on the whole its been fine. Shockingly, I don't miss the majority of what I sold so what's that say? It means we really don't need any of this. Memorabilia is for remembering, its in the name. Like you said, if you don't really like a movie why do you want something that reminds you of it? Kinda defeats the purpose. So I agree 100% with everything you said. That was chilling though, "or will you let life pass you by". That will stick with me forever, thank you. Amazing video man.

Nice video! I think that knowing what you want to collect is better than falling in the mainstream river of buying everything with nonsense.

I’m with ya on that! I also collect retro video games and have sold off most of my toys. Too much stuff! I only collect the Dino figures of species I REALLY want or ones that are tied to older movie canon with the Kenner line or some non released previous species. Aside from that I only collect newer Mattel line if I find it dirt cheap at the thrift store or garage sales… I’d rather save the money to buy retro Kenner JP 1 & 2 stuff that I never had as a kid. I grew up in the 80s and 90s so I remember wanting JP1 stuff so bad but never asked for it because I thought it was too expensive and we didn’t have much money growing up…
But I decided to ask for The Lost World line for B-Day/X-Mas gifts and I actually acquired a decent collection (including the mobile command center) which I still have to this day!
    I also don’t really collect doubles…
