When you had sunglasses on on one of your videos I was 100% sure you are Pete from "Friends" (Jon Favreau)
Very nice set up. My first exposure to flaperon implementation.
Glad we could pop your flapperon cherry ;) It's a great mod on full length aileron equipped planes.
Brian you are super cool! Thanks for a great video.🛩 I enjoy your completeness in review, and candor.
The only way to make it work with true flaperons is to jailbreak the receiver, yes you can turn off AS3X and safe and it will all work ok.
Nice plane very nice video
I wish Horizon would supply metal back plate spinners.
I love this stuff
Thanks!!!
Dubro tire/wheel are great .
Brian, how did you do your flaperon setup? I have an older dsm2 spektrum receiver and the ailerons are connected to the receiver via a y harness. it is 6 channels. Don’t know the exact model because the sticker came off a while ago.
Edit: when I followed along the flaps just made it do left or right roll, instead of doing flaperons.
Balsaaaaaaaaaa 😍😍😍😍
Great video as allways!
Integy makes a ball link/clevis tool. Works great on plane clevis's too
Did your wing sit well? Mine wobbles
Another missed opportunity to re-release the EC1500. I have high hope for a summer release.
I forsee the 'V2' being the 4 motor/esc version. FMS had a video of a pre-production one a yr ago.
Hi Brian, my brain is spinning after watching this. So much important information. I'm about ready to begin unboxing my Ultra 1.1 so I'll be referring back to this video often. Thank you for your efforts to educate us. I have another question relating to Spektrum programming. I also fly gliders and just completed a 2m V-Tail glider with only 2 control servos - for the vtail left/right ruddervators. My first experience with V-Tail and I'm having great difficulty getting it programmed so that both up/down and left/right are on the right stick. I have an NX-8 and the web seems to have very little step by step help for Spektrum Tx controlling a simple V-Tail. Is that anything you might be able to help me with? If so, i can provide my contact info. If not, I understand... jerry g
Dumb question or 2. I want to set up the two servo setup to include just flaps and ailerons. I don't want or need spoilerons. I also set up reverse thrust already. From your video I was getting confused with the changes because of the factory reset and all the forward programming changes it appears that is necessary to keep AS3X and Safe working for both control surfaces. Help !!
Thanks
You can do this NO PROBLEMO, all you need to do is check out another PNP plane we've done an "Unbox Build Radio Setup" on recently...Here's one - The FMS P-51 1.45m Unbox Build Radio Setup - th-cam.com/video/lnzUfTsZHQ8/w-d-xo.html
Thanks
Hey Brian , could you share where you got that plane stand that you use in your video's and a name or model number ? Thanks to you and "camera crew " for all the great video's.

Just curious what happened to the stick part of the airplane?
Question, would this be ok for a beginner since it has those safety features?
I wouldn't suggest it, but there's lots of people (trying to sell you something) that would say SURE...I for one, think this is a great plane for an intermediately skilled pilot, and even better fit for a skilled pilot.
Here's our somewhat shortened "Beginner list" to help you get a feel for what we typically suggest...

Reminds me of the 25 size US. Would like to mount my 25 size flogs to it.
Neither thrust reverse nor programming is through the extra lead with the single yellow wire, that is a carry over from the factory for something else. It does literally nothing on Spektrum systems. Programming and reversing is all done through the normal throttle lead (reversing is part of the Smart system).
so my owners manual says that flaperon dose not work w bnf receiver programing must be rest w pc and usb cable to reprogram where can i find the files
Well, we did it.
Brian what is the name of the harden mm drivers you are using.
have u ever flown any flex innovations planes why not venture out and review there rv-8s the 60 and 10e models both r 6s planes
We have one in the docket, but to date, we haven't been able to raise them to reply to an email...one of our subscribers was so desperate for a review, he bought one and shipped it as a gift!!! Our audience is so good to us, but we're so slammed, we haven't even gotten a chance to work it in...BUT it is coming soon!
@@BrianPhillipsRC my has one ailiron higher the other slightly but there lined up prefect with the tip donno why mine is like that
The Aileron and Flap control surfaces must already be pre-joined if one does not wish to install the "outboard aileron" servos ? So coming out of the box, the inboard servos are serving as aileron servos, instead of traditionally being flap servos and if one wishes to have flaps, you have to install two more outboard servos, which normally should be traditional aileron servos and cut apart the joined aileron and flap control surfaces. Correct ? ......It should be the other way around. They should have made it much simpler by just adding Flap Servos where they are suppose to be and add the aileron servos and keep the control surfaces unconnected ! Your set up on the computer radio is too complicated to simply enjoying flying. FM is much simpler. forget all the complicated setups, just get out there and fly !
Your complaints (the stock setup is too hard and I made it too complicated) are non issues...
This is all VERY, very simple. IF you want inboard flaps...
1) Cut a hole in the OUTBOARD Aileron's servo pocket
2) Separate by cutting the dowels between the OUTBOARD Aileron from the INBOARD Flap
3) Pull a servo wire back from hole to center
4) Land wire at Aileron Pocket end
5) Mount Servo in Aileron Pocket
6) Repeat for the other side
7) Change wind type in Wing Type
8) Change wire landing points on Rx
8) Go back through Forward Programming
9) Verify Flap Modes are still good, or adjust as necessary
10) Test controls
Study the wing for two minutes and come up with a different plan if you wish. I'm not making anything more complicated than it has to be, I'm making it EXACTLY as complicated as it needs to be to get the job done.
The Stock setup is not too hard it's just that they should have included Flap Servos.@@BrianPhillipsRC
