Well, I was able to successfully ignore Ducati for so long, because in other segments the competition isn't that ugly. But I wanted a pretty looking adventure bike. Was looking at the Norden, when this baby came along. If the Norden is the first decent looking adventure bike, this is as pretty as popsicles for my inner child. Absolutely nailed it!

Ducati bikes are always distinguished, strong, attractive, very practical and a strong competitor in all categories and this category in particular. I loved DesertX

they were always expensive and unreliable..good for posing or short term fun but not the first choice -> if you're searching something for travelling to remote areas

I picked up a '23 DesertX four months ago, have 4.2k Texas summer (HOT) miles on it already. Picked it up with the full race Termignoni exhaust (w/EVO tune) and a few other options.
As a DDX owner with significant miles (over 1k miles of Texas off-road), I can attest that Ducati nailed it with this bike.
Having ridden a few other bikes side by side with the DDX......
The GS simply cannot change direction with the finesse and accuracy of the DesertX. The Ducati feels like it reads your mind, and instantly obeys, almost a feeling of downhill/Alpine snow sking. The GS, by comparison, feels like herding an elephant.
The Africa Twin just feels around 200 lbs heavier then the DDX when compared off road.
The T7 is close to the DDX, but the T7 seems to carry it's weight higher then the DDX. In some off road conditions the T7 feels slightly better, but it seems to get unstable and kicked off-line in other conditions, needing MORE corrections then the DDX.
In all over 1k of the total miles on my DDX have been ridden standing on the pegs. My longest day on the Ducati has been over six hours, took a 20 minute break. Over half of that six hour day was on the pegs.
Just got the OE crash bars installed a few days ( the bash plate was mounted over two months ago). Going forward it's good to know that fuel tank is protected from a drop.😅

Ducati probably doesn’t make the best bikes out there… but they sure create the best films and stories - this marketing strategy is making them stand out and go to the next level. Great job on the bikes as well!

minus the dual round headlights the design has been copied from KTM LC series . Making dual sport designs is not Ducati's strong point . They should stick to super sport and sport tourers.

Someone need to explain to me why Ducati decided to talk in the Italian language in all videos. Yes we do have English subtitles but it dose not help us getting that feeling of low knowledge and poor engagement from Ducati employees. Or, perhaps, it is the top management needs to show their faces on the screen stopping the true knowledge people in order to uphold Ducati hierarchy. It dose not benefit me as a Ducati customer or the employees at Ducati. Why am I a Ducati customer outside Italy?

It's an Italian bike, ridden by Italians - should they speak in Swahili?!? Of course it's in Italian.
And you're a Ducati customer outside Italy if you like the bike not because one ad is in Italian.. 🤪

@@ozadv Swahili sounds as good as Italian. All international companies with som respect 🫡 for their customers talk on of the larger languages available.

I thought the bike was really nice. However, for a Ducati, Italian design, the rear is not pretty. I think the side of the seat and the rear of the bike were aesthetically poorly designed.
