A Short History of Timber Harvesting in Ireland (Garvagh Forest)

Filmed at Garvagh forest in the North of Ireland, this video looks back to a time when the local logging industry harvested trees with saws and horse power.
Through this video we capture the change that has occurred in this industry, showing the hi-tech, diesel powered harvesters machinery which now harvest the trees.
This short film follows the cycle from planting the trees, though cutting them to the timber being taking to the timber yard were its turned into wood for commercial use.
