Well ok thanks for the teardown video. I think that the slop that you attempted to improve never mattered except getting that center bolt back in and cleaning the shafts and threads is always good. I have one and it's just not a precision vise but it does the job until the e-clip breaks. Then it sorta still works.

Enjoyed your video. Hope some young mechanically inclined folks watch it and understand preventive maintenance is a must, pay attention to disassembly so you can make needed repairs or adjustments during reassembly and look for ways to use tools to your advantage (i.e. placing the key against the outside of the jaw). Also I’ve worked with different Loctite products for almost 50 years and never knew they had threadlocker in a “glue stick” form. I’ll be buying my next batch in stick form since the liquid will dry up or the plastic tube gets brittle and busts. Keep up the good content.

Thank you John! We have lots of Locksmith friends who didn't know about the stick style Loctite as well. It keeps really well. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Thank you kindly for your Video! I have the exact same Vice, the thing is that mine does not open up by my twisting the handle. I need to manually push the metal inwards to open the lips apart. Any suggestions, much appreciated Sir.

Take it apart and figure it out. That's all I can suggest. Good luck with your repairs.

The E-clip he took off the shaft that went flying is what you need.

I have this exact one, and I'm trying to figure out what the black piece in front of the washer on the spindle is, that you referred to as the "clip", and is that a part that is readily available to replace? The one I have does not have one. Can you tell me if there's a specific name for it or what size it is? I can't seem to find any replacement parts online for this particular model.

I need to get one myself. They are called "E-clips".
