This is an awesome idea! I just bought 8 "hazelbert" trees(which is a hazel nut hybrid tree) to plant this spring and often wondered what I will do with all the nuts once the trees establish. This I will definitely try! Sounds like the milk will be amazing!
This is fantastic idea. It’s easy to follow your step by step instructions & healthy as well. Thanks for sharing this video & keep up your good work! ❤️
@@LovinofftheLand Great idea! I've been looking into getting a small kitchen friendly chocolate refiner, which grinds and conches the chocolate, (I'm a complete chocaholic but knowing how ethical the tastiest chocolate and truffles are seems to be really hard). Either way apparently chocolate refiner's are also really good at making nut butter too. I wonder if they'd grind dry things like wheat or dried nuts too... By the way- one of your videos had some slightly sad looking tomatoes which I was going to comment on, but as I was a bit late to the party I figured they'd pop up again on a more recent video and they haven't. A really good tip to protect them from blight is to spray them with a mixture (1/4 of a dispersible aspirin tablet/litre of water) every couple of weeks, especially when they're young (aspirin comes from the willow family so there may be a tea or something you can concoct this year too but I'm not sure). This also helps other nightshade plants. If plants generally have mould, a whole head of garlic/litre maybe with a little bit of soap mixed in as well sprayed on is miraculously effective (smells a lot of garlic until it rains).
It looks like you have some great blenders. I saw you used a different one to grind stevia leaf in that video. It would be very helpful if you could do a video about your kitchen equipment, including even the nut milk cloth you used here, what brands they are and where you bought them. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks Donna, we have has a few requests for this so will be starting a page where we list all the equipment we use. Here is the grinder that we used for wheat www.amazon.ca/YaeTek-Electric-Grinder-Machine-Powder/dp/B07K9NXP61/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=grain+grinder&qid=1628633196&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzNE00UzhMWkdQQU5HJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUExMDIyOTcwMzNNTUVIVDdaS0lXUCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNDQzNzg1MllTMjNHTFpTV0tYRSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

It's not "living off the grid" but I like that you are using what you have to survive quite nicely. Keep up the great work.

You can dehydrate the left over pulp and then run it thru a mill and make hazelnut flour. Use it for baking
Amazing idea. We are desperate for more flour so will definitely try this!!!
Yes! I was totally going to mention that!
Hazelnut Flour!....what a great idea! 👍

Love this!!! We have a hazelnut tree out the back behind the boundary fence and I've often wondered when they'd be ready to pick.
Thank you. Their milk is actually pretty tasty.
Next time we will try dehydrating the pulp to turn in to flour as well :)

you can also save the leftover pulp and use it as an exfoliating facial scrub.
We will definitely try that. We have turned it in to flour too
I also want to go there
We are very lucky. Thanks

You can use the pulp as a "flour" if you dehydrate it :)
We are definitely going to try that. Thank you

How do you protect your hazelnuts from the squirrels and birds? Ours always seem to get picked off the tree by wildlife before they are ripe!
