    Awesome! Just about to go. How was the turbulence? It’s the one thing I really get anxious about but was curious to see how it was on this? I know it’s not always the same turbulence experience but curious :)

      Hi Jack, Thanks for watching.
      Actually, I can’t recall having any significant turbulence at all. It was a very smooth flight all the way to DXB.
      Wish you a safe flight ✈️

      Why do people even care about turbulence 90% of the time it feels like nothing

    I am a New Zealander living in Auckland and really want to visit Dubai one day soon. Living in New Zealand, I am used to long flight times to anywhere apart from Australia and the South Pacific islands. The longest individual sector I have ever flown was Singapore-London Heathrow - a little over 14 hours long. I have flown one stop from NZ to Europe several times (via Singapore, via Bangkok and via Kuala Lumpur) but when I was quite a bit younger. I wonder what 17 hours is like now I am I my early 50s. I have flown on Emirates twice before but only between Auckland and Brisbane (at a time when Emirates flew up to three flights daily from Auckland to Dubai with only one of the services non-stop, the others via Brisbane or Melbourne). On the Brisbane-Auckland flight I treated myself to Business class (on a cheap upgrade deal which was offered for the 3hr 30 min flight, but with no chauffeur service or extra miles credit).

      Even just 12-15 years ago travelling between New Zealand/Australia and Europe via the Middle East was utterly unheard of. It shows the real recent growth of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

    Seems quite a backtrack to go via Dubai to India or Sri Lanka. The fare would have to be quite a bit cheaper than going via Australia or South-East Asia to India/Sri Lanka for me.

    Hello Shan, this is my dream flight. I also want to try on Emirates A380 from Auckland to Dubai. I have several questions 1. Is your flight was full or semi full (load factor) 2. Is Emirates doing some restristions on this particular flight from Aucland to Dubai blocking some economy seats due to Maximum takeoff weight 3. What was takeoff weight on this flight? 4. How many passengers was on your flight on each class first, business, economy?

    • @ShanMathotage
      @ShanMathotage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If this is your dream flight ✈️ just buy a ticket and fly!

      I had the same question before my flight.
      Honestly, it was way better than I expected. There is a decent leg space, plenty of options to keep you entertained on ICE, you can ask crew for snacks or drinks whenever you want, you can walk along aisle or go and sit on the stairs case at the back of the flight for a change.
      Wish you a safe n enjoyable journey!

    So you just took Emirates' longest flight they have, and did not tell us how you let the time fly? Like did you walk up and down a bunch of times to get the blood flowing in your system? Lucky that as a window seat passenger, you only had 1 neighbour sat on your section. Makes it a breeze to make several trips to the loo and for a walk.

      From experience I much prefer this long flight than stopping in Melbourne or Sydney - bloody painful those stops…crap security, crap food and chaotic boarding…would rather just eat and sleep.
