I had this attitude when traveling first class recently in the Dubai lounge. It stated on my boarding card to be at the gate 20 mins before departure ...I took myself round to wait. 10 mins before departure still no show at the gate. I went over to the reception as this confused me as I was standing alone. I kindly asked if anyone is coming to the gate. The Emirates staff member was so rude, snapped at me and said 'yes there is someone coming, you just need to wait'! It left a bad taste with Emirates.
sadly I have to say - and I have lived in Dubai now for 20 years- that lately all this happens quite frequently on the EK flights. What I really do not appreciate is the "atitude thing" that you mentioned, which nowadays seems to be company policy at Emirates. The planes are full, so apparently they think they can afford that kind of passenger treatment, BUT: once a reputation is damaged, it is nearly impossible to repair.
Sadly this is true, I hope this makes the airline improve their service because I really believe in the quality they can give (I've had multiple good experiences with them)
I wasn't even aware one could select a business class flight on Emirates without lounge access. Was it an upgrade fare? Thanks. I could see how tired you were and know how things seem worse when you are. Thank you for your honest opinion and it's nice to see a woman doing a flight review. So many of them are done by men and it's great, as a woman myself, to get a female perspective
It's called business special fare it's cheaper and doesn't have chauffeur service and lounge access, also you cannot select the seat until it's 48 before the flight. Also the milage points are less than with a regular ticket.
I have never heard of having to buy business class lounge access ticket before. It should be included in your flight ticket... it was in mine back in 2019 plus chauffeur service to and from the airport
Emirates has different types of biz class tickets and the cheapest is one without lounge access. I discovered that a couple of months ago booking the flight to Istanbul. With a 100 mins layover, I opted the ticket wo lounge access. Save me about 150bucks
Absolutely shocking, in my opinion Emirates totally let you down with both customer services and there staff, especially the lady in the lounge area, they all need re training or removing from there jobs. This type of service for the price you paid was disgusting.
I’m delighted that you like Emirates. A couple things I don’t like. One is the 7 across in biz class on the 777. The second is paying for lounge access on many biz class flights. Good review!
It's another experience showing that the crew is important and can make THE difference. Sometimes the Emirates crew can be a bit haughty. But I've had great flights with them too. But yes, nowadays where ticket prices are so high, one can indeed expect excellent service. I can't comment on the lounge situation. Some tickets don't include access, and one should always check the conditions beforehand. And another tip: Not all travelers like to be filmed. But thank you for your video. Maybe it will help Emirates improve their service. Because nothing is better than a great business class flight.
It seems like the issue might have been a combination of factors. To be honest, I believe you might have had a similar experience with any airline on that day. It’s possible that you were distracted when booking the lounge and might have been a bit short with the host. Everyone has off days, and it’s understandable that your mindset could have affected your experience. Additionally, you mentioned Coke Zero when it was actually Pepsi, so everyone makes mstakes.
One more point. I don't blame a person for not being happy about paying major $$$, and having a rough time on the flight. But remember that as recently as 150 years ago people were still crossing the oceans in sailboats, and the trip could take a month, and a half.
I tried that same seat at the back!! Horrible noise!! Will never repeat, always chose front seats, of not available I would travel economy. And also its completely illegal to vape on the plane, I would have video recorder that and showed it to the police at dubai Airport as soon as landed. Horrible lounge lady, I would have taken her name and write an official complaint to emirates. Hope you have better experience.
Hey karen, do your research before travelling..the page of dubai business class lounge clearly sais: you can enter the lounge 4! hours before departure
It is disappointing when passengers don’t observe good etiquette like getting drunk etc. it makes flying long haul so unpleasant! Shouldn’t the business lounge be part of Emirates business class service?
The cheapest Special fare disallows the lounge access that's normally included (along with higher change fee and no seat selection until check-in), so access after the fact has to be purchased separately and these have a 4 hour time limit. May or may not be worth it based on how long you're in DXB and how much more are the full access fares (starting at Saver the next one up).
Some elements of this are disingenuous. $5000 sounds like a lot, but for the ticket to not include lounge access it was purchased in a budget 'special' ticket bucket. Some context here would have been helpful and you could have cited to the "regular" ticket price as a reference. No excuses for poor passenger behavior, or poor seat quality. Emirates have different A380 layouts etc and no doubt the older frames get sent to places like Bali.
Sorry for what you have experienced on this flight but we've all had once that awful flying journey and some people even more than once but overall flying still remains a thrilling and pleasant experience...
Looks like Emirates is becoming complacent. Also Hiring of Hostesses seems to have gone wrong. I had bad experience from hostess on long premium economy. they are seemingly skimping on quality in hostess hiring. Business class should be about experience because you are paying for it. They. should not go overboard with fare class splits.
I know how it is, we had on our flight in 2015 from Munich to Johannesburg also an unpleasant crew on the flight from Dubai to Johannesburg in the Trippel 7, in the A380 they were all super nice.
I switched to Qatar which I had one incident in Dubai. I’m a just a silver class, but I have access to Dubai lounge. The staff, which I still remember her name, actually passed a rude remark in her native language which I understood that even I have access to Business class lounge..
It’s honestly quite absurd to own a business class ticket (directly bought and not upgraded into) and do not have a right to enter the business class lounge. At least have a service similar to Lufthansa where they keep business and senator lounges, which are on different levels but still offer you complementary accommodation while holding the ticket
101 Customer Service - never lecture a customer. State what should've been done and move on. You couldn't be the first to approach a desk for lounge access.. to be treated like this? To be vaping and drunk on the flight lounge has gotta be the worst. Thx for sharing.
Oh wow Emirates give you little plane shoes and pyjamas!!! I haven't flown Emirates since 2020 and they didn't give pyjamas and shoes back then! Flew Qantas 6 months ago and I although they give you pyjamas they don't give out plane shoes, I brought my own special rubber plane shoes to move around the cabin. If you're planning to fly business class long haul DO NOT waste your money on Qantas, they have been consistently getting worse and worse! Their little travel bags are literally what you'd expect to find in premium economy, lounges are just horrid, and service... I'm sorry, what service?! Emirates have now become my number one after my last Qantas experience! You have to show us what the Emirates pyjamas looks like!!! I can't wait for my next Emirates trip to Europe!!!
The first time I flew on Emirates was in 2015. I flew from John F. Kennedy to Dubai and then to Seychelles. I have not encountered “rude staff“ but I have noticed that some levels of the service that I expected have declined. For example: the flight attendants used to wear nice little flag pens that either told their country of origin or the language that they spoke. They stopped using the flag pins. I was disappointed about that. I am a very tall man. I’m about 6 foot tall. I originally flew in of the seats near the emergency exit that had no seat directly in front of it. Back then I didn’t have to pay extra money but the next time I flew with Emirates to Dubai and then to Thailand. They made me pay more money for that seat. Therefore, I stopped flying in their economy, and I started flying in business class. The flight that I took with them was to Dubai and to Maldives. I had no issues with that at all. My next trip is going to be on ANA business class “the room”. JFK to Haneda to Indonesia, BALI. I would have used Emirates, but it wasn’t as efficient a route.
This lady is hiding something. I have flown business class with cash. I was never asked to buy lounge stay during my layover. Also no difference when I bought business class using points.
What a well done video with excellent commentary and editing! You are right; even the best companies can have a bad day. But a poor attitude from someone in a hospitality or service role is one of the most aggravating things! ❤ NL. Tot ziens!
Whats the common denominator here in your issues. You! You bought the cheap ticket. You should have read terms of useage to buy access to lounge. Would have told you only 4 hours. You could have even updated your ticket which would have given you unlimited access for probably the same price. You didnt like the food. Thats what you picked to eat. People in bar noisey. Its a bar. You should have picked a seat in the first cabin. Not the smaller one closer to the bar. Lastly 5k for a oneway ticket Bali to Amsterdam. I call BS. You got an upgrade or used points. We fly backand forth from Singapore to Europe return on Emirates in BC. Twice in the last 8 months actually and constantly since covid. We have never paid 5k even for our return flights in BC.
I flew Emirates Business Class in November 2015 from Zurich to Sydney return, i paid Sfr. 4600, i had a great flight, great service, very nice staff. If i wanted to do the same flight now in 2024 i would have to pay Sfr. 6000 or a bit more, depending on when i want to go. If i am paying enough for Business Class then i expect good service.

Oh no... my whole family is planning to go to vacation with Emirates very soon, and we want to experience the business class for the first time. I know its not every time, but this kind of make me think twice.
you thought you could get away with charming some hapless arab into letting you in for longer than you paid for but got owned by the female desk agent xD
I'm too dead ass broke to fly this way. But watching these videos for a while, I would say about the last six years many videos leave the impression that Emirates is losing the appeal it once had. Many say Qatar is the top dog in customer service. I can see a flight attendant having a lousy day, or four. Their schedule, time zone changes, and all the crap with hotel rooms must get old after even the first three years of it.
Very smart answer, if they receive same training then why emirates put rating in every check in desk and in every screen in the airplane , can you answer Mr smart
Emerates officers should get an action against that lounge working women. Clients or customers are the main key to any service. Why are they that much arrogant ??? Next time , try Qatar.
Unfortunately, I have found many TH-camrs are slinging around the F bomb. It is such a harsh sounding word and best to be avoided. That being said, I think the lady did a very fair review, and I did enjoy it, save for the language.

:,) Yes, I really hope it was just a one-time experience. I definitely was surprised about the quality of this particular flight.

I’m sorry if I spend $5000 on a ticket, you better believe that everything better be in order
Exactly 🥲
You can do the same route with Qatar in Q suites fir almost half the price and double the pleasure
And paying 150 usd for lounge access after paying 5k for business class is hilarious
5000 USD is affordable and a great price for 17 hours 🤦♂️
Sorry for what you have experienced on this flight but we've all had once that awful flying journey and some people even more than once but overall flying still remains a thrilling and pleasant experience...
Finally, Finally - through the magic of algorithms the female Josh Cahill. She's Awesome !!
Glad you enjoyed!

I just discovered a great aviation youtuber, on the level of Josh Cahill, Noel Phillips or Sam Chui.

there's a reason chinese look down on south east asain.
Can I ask you what nationality the person in the lounge reception
It doesn't matter. They all receive the same training in Dubai. They don't have different training in different countries.
Very smart answer, if they receive same training then why emirates put rating in every check in desk and in every screen in the airplane , can you answer Mr smart
next time try singapore
You should fly Qatar Airways instead. Different league.
I'd rather fly on qatar or singapore
Very attractive....

Yes ure right ✅️ emirates is gone down the in everything. Fly Qatar 🇶🇦 Airlines much better friendly staff 👌
u should definitely try Qatar airways
luc ur content😀
you were illegally filming people and they tried to stop you, not grab your phone!
Well then they could have asked politely for her not to film them.
Emerates officers should get an action against that lounge working women.

Emirates I am not surprised or shocked. Do not fly these airlines absolutely disgraced
NEXT TIME take her staff ID / name and she will get punished for this
not if they are Arab.
The staff are not Arabs for 99% dont put it on arabs people
Lol I'm gonna spend 2000$ for 2 pepole me and my bff
Your comment on entering the flight at Bali "empty as fuck", says a lot about you and your personality to review aircraft.
Unfortunately, I have found many TH-camrs are slinging around the F bomb. It is such a harsh sounding word and best to be avoided. That being said, I think the lady did a very fair review, and I did enjoy it, save for the language.
You should check your itinerary next time. This is a you problem not Emirates.
i will never fly with this lousy airlinbes esp after comfirming my experience with yours
