[about me]
Hi my name is Rosie, I'm 26 and my life is a bit confusing so i'm writing this lol.
To make it easy:
- I was born in Northern Italy, in the region of Veneto
- My whole family still lives there (mom, dad and my little sister Marty)
- I moved to Toronto, Canada, at 19 all alone to ✨find myself✨ (spoiler: it didn't work, i got more lost if anything).
So, I live half my life in Italy and half my life in Canada.
Also, my mom is from Moldova (country in Eastern Europe) and my dad is from Calabria (region in Southern Italy) and both my grandmas still live there. So you’ll occasionally see me going there as well.
I hope this clears things up a bit.. or maybe makes them more confusing lol.

I hope your sister continues to find strength, in Australia studying economics and physics is not compulsory , so she is a lot stronger than most as they are very difficult subjects! It's funny how curriculums differ when it comes to countries all around the world. In Poland all high school students, nevermind the class profile, must learn Polish, one or two foreign languages, maths, physics, chemistry, biology, history, social studies and more :). The truth is we don't use most of the things we learn at school in our adult life but our general knowlegde is wide. Still, I am over 40 and I am able to help my daughter with all her subjects and my major at my university was linguistics ;). I had to have very strict teachers ;).
When I was in year 10 they divided each term into a science topic, biology, chemistry, physics, and geology. I passed all except for physics! It was really hard! They still let me go on to year 11 but my grade average for science went so low 😢 poor Marty.

Agreed its not just calming but very authentic and I can tell as I used to live near there before, but what all people loved about her video I guess it's the fascination of seeing a totally different way of living in such details! I was born in Padova, lived in Vicenza for a while and then moved to the UK when I was 16.
I'm now 26 and all I want to do is move back to my hometown... and these videos just make the nostalgia so much more intense 😂

The best part for me, as a traditional catholic, was seeing that some ladies were wearing their veils inside the church...and also the church is so beautiful! Also those stores selling religious things! Such a dream! Italy truly reminds me of my country, Spain, so your videos put me in a really good mood. I really like your vlogs. There are so many amazing Italian Catholic saints so I would love to tour Italy on a pilgrimage to the different areas (such as Assisi/Cascia/Perugia, Paola, Siena, and many more). Padua is one of the places I'd love to go, to see the Basilica of St Anthony (who technically was Portuguese I believe but lived and worked in Italy) and the different places he went to in Padua.
Yes, he is extremely popular here in Portugal and the patron saint of Lisbon (where he was born).

My cousin Rosie lived in Canada. We are both Italian Americans and everytime I look at you and your sister I remember being that young and eating our Nonna's food a lot.. Your videos really make me remember being that young.

I grew up learning about his culture, eating the food, and learning a little bit of the language.
