Immigration is welcome as long as immigrants are willing to integrate into Danish society and uphold Danish values and culture. Al Jazeera, owned by Qatar, which has one of the lowest rankings as to how immigrant workers are treated, is offering a one sided report on another country's immigration problems. But, like all agendas it's one sided. Clearly, there are multiple sides to the issue.
One, the segregation of the immigrants, both by choice and maybe cultural issues.
Certainly, the Danes have some re-thinking to do, but this is unclear because we only hear from one point of view.

Danish taxpayers pay large sums to non-Western citizens.
When these citizens receive benefits from Danish society, there is no question of racism - but when some of the same citizens have to provide something to Danish society (dissolution of ghettos/parallel societies with social control), then it is racism.

Out of the net expenditure of 31 billion for non-Western immigrants and descendants, persons from the MENAPT countries account for 24 billion kroner (77% of 31 billion).

If people don’t like the law, they can leave. I completely support Denmark in implementing laws that immigrants need to assimilate. I live in Canada and so often see people that don’t speak a word of English or French. And I would bet my life that they have no intention of ever learning to speak English or French. If they aren’t going to do that as a minimum, they have no business living here. Many immigrants in Canada make no point of learning English or trying to assimilate. They expect us to change everything for them. I’m really tired of doing that. And I find it completely disrespectful.

So, Al Jazeera, should Denmark accept parallel societies where residents have their own laws and live by them, or should Denmark once again try and integrate these people who do not want to be integrated into society? Danish society is built on the basis that you have to give before you can enjoy; i.e. do your part and get to work and pay tax to those who for one reason or another cannot work.
Over the years, Denmark has received many from other countries. Let me name just a few: Hungary in the 50s, Chile in the 70s, Vietnam in the 70s and the Chinese. These groups are integrated and contribute to society. But it is people from the Middle East and other Arab countries who make gangs and crime with shootings in the streets. Totally unacceptable. I must say in all decency that the vast majority of Arab descent study, get jobs and contribute. But they also settle outside the Arab ghettos. So now Denmark wants to do something about the ghettos. What's wrong with that?

I also stand with Denmark. Cultural ghettos everywhere breed trouble. Though many of the majority in a country may feel racial dislike for some minority, the main problem in Denmark and countries like it is not race but culture. Disliking someone else's culture seems to me logically and morally defensible. I think everyone who wants to immigrate, but doesn't want to join the culture of the country they want to enter, should not be allowed. And to help a melting pot, ghettos should not be allowed.
