Nice video :D Here is a beautiful triplex that you share with us here and I notice that work has been carried out in recent months on these elevators, seeing the pulleys replaced on two of the three elevators, this shows that sometimes there are still elevators maintained and that the replacement will not be carried out any time soon.
Exactly. You may have seen the related short where the rims of the traction sheaves have been replaced (now yellow) together with the ropes. These lifts suffered from heavy rope bleed before and the machine bases were covered in metal dust. Now they're good to go for a long time again. also the controllers have been replaced and are now BP408 instead of 302, which is a lot better (302 is unreliable). Also the Variodyn drives are no VF88 and not 85 anymore. All in all these are really nice lifts again and they can last another 20 years. But because I do have so much old footage here I decided to portray the old state before the small extra mod.
It is usually down to customer's choice and often the customer may want a generic controller cause it's open and anybody can maintain it. Maybe it was also cheaper for Schindler to install a BP in the early 2000s than it was to choose a Miconic SX, which would probably have been their in-house controller for this job here. Schindler in Switzerland even prefers the BP controllers for these non-standard mod jobs faster the discontinuation of MX-GC 10 years ago it seems. I have never seen one with a CO-MX, only BP308 and 408. The BP302 installed in here did last for a bit over 20 years. When they were fairly new, they were used a lot by many companies but after time they've become unreliable. I don't really like them anymore because of that but the BP408 is a great controller with many more capabilities and a lot of really nice features. I would honestly prefer it over a closed ecosystem controller.
Very nice engineering work on those elevators! Schindler really did a nice job on this old modernization, these elevators are built to last!
Absolutely, this is some good electronics and great mechanics working together here. Thx!
Saubere und stabile Technik. 👍👍👍
So ist es. Dankesehr!

Gut gemachtes Video! Eindrücklicher Motorraum!
Dankesehr!

How about the bottom of the shaft?
There is not access door in the shaft pit, would have to climb down through the bottom landing door. That's why I didn't bother filming down there.
Fascinating. Why brands like schindler sometimes use generic components? here they used BP302 and in the short they modernized it with BP408 logic.
