    I love Hasselblad’s design language, all modern cameras should look that sleek.

      I do like how they look, but I disagree about wanting all cameras being that sleek. I think all camera brands should lean into something design wise that makes them unique from others. That's just me, as someone who thinks most cameras all look the same.

    A couple of questions in my mind. 1 - Does it do what you need it to do for your use case? 2 - Does it inspire you enough to get out and create more? 3 - Did you keep it? 4 - can you look past the price?

    Such a sick camera - I'd love to get my hands on one. For me it's the 16-bit colour and the much larger sensor that appeal to me most. It doesn't appeal to my wallet though 😅 Great video as always bud!

    Happy X2D owner since launch (sold my X1D II to fund it) and agree with your points! Ultimately I'd like to see Hasselblad make it faster to focus, without asking us to buy a new generation of lenses to compensate. The focal range now feels like it has coverage at all necessary ranges, but took a while. I'm excited to see where they continue to innovate, but I do get the feeling the camera is best used as a lesson to 1) slow down, 2) pay attention, and 3) capture the art of life.
    (Would also love to see them, now owned by DJI and presumably with its financial backing, do whatever it takes to partner with Capture One. It is frustrating and awkward that Hasselblad is essentially the *only* manufacturer they either cannot or will not support.)

    Crazy how because, even though it's on a big monitor, I'm watching this in a TH-cam videos, unless you're showing the close crops, the images still look the same as your APSC Fujifilm stuff. And that's probably more of a compliment of your style rather than a criticism of the camera.

    • @henlolneh
      @henlolneh 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      interesting you bring this up because it is how i also felt viewing the shots from the x2d in this video. with that being said, when i watch other youtubers who have specifically reviewed the fuji gfx line, the shots they present from the medium format fuji bodies seem to scream "medium format!!" whilst these x2d shots are a lot more difficult to tell what type of sensor said shots were taken on.

    • @rf8221
      @rf8221 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@henlolneh That's because he was shooting a higher ISO to reduce motion blur, and the edits/presets he applies. You can see less of a heavy handed edit towards the start of the video and as he starts to loose light and "crank" the ISO he looses dynamic range. If anything you can see the benefit of a bigger sensor and high megapixel because the digital grain looks pleasant and unobtrusive.

    Here, in germany, the hasselblad X2D is lower in price than the Leica M11. I was analog photographer and in search of a digital camera that „runs like a analog“. First have a touch on the M11, but give it back and buyed the X2D with XCD 2.5 55v.
    Absolute stunning, I use it for every occasion. The handling, quality and image quality are phenomenal. I use phocus on mac to import and convert to .fff files. I’m 100% satisfied and love this camera! Best camera i think.

    One thing that is often overlooked with the X2D and other 100MP cameras is the ability to crop fairly severely and still end up with a primtable image. The X2D is slow, but it's not slower than the film cameras that a lot of NYC street photographers use - so why not in that application... From an X2D owner.

    The camera is so beautifully made and feels so good when you hold it😅. But the problem is, that in todays world, where we mostly view photography on a tiny screen, one can’t see if a pic was taken with a smartphone, an APS-C camera, a fullframe camera or a medium format camera … unless it’s a portrait. If I would be into professional fashion-, product- or portrait-photography, I would probably think about buying this camera or the GFX 100 II from Fuji. But as a mere hobbyist who shoots street and travel, I need something small, light and unobtrusive. So, given all this, the X2D still is a wonderful camera, but for my use case it’s total overkill. Anyway, thanks for the nice video😉👍!

    I don't understand why they sent this camera to someone that is primarily a street photographer. The ideal user for this camera would be for in studio work and / or landscape photography.
    The price tag is also not in the realm of "most" peoples budget.
    I think they make a fine product but it is a luxury item that is for a specific end user.
    I think most street photographers are not going to want to carry around a large camera, risk being robbed and do not likely need such large files.
    I still like your channel and find your videos informative.
    I think the manufacturer missed the mark / target audience of your subscribers.

  • @simon359
    @simon359 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    How is the auto focus on this camera, the speed for getting accurate shots on the street?
    As far as use for me in street photography, no way and that’s specifically because of the price! I can see this camera used for nature, photography, or like you say studio work.
    I use Fuji XT5, and with 40 megapixels have more than enough to crop easily!
    have to admit I’ve always looked at Hasselblad, but it’s always been way too expensive for my budget. Plus Leica cameras are already a magnet for criminals, I can imagine they would be even more interested in the Hasselblad!

And the coloring is on its own. That can make you look different and at extra layers to your street photography. Example the b&w picture with the lady with the long knit.

I would be interested in your opinion on whether you felt like the 55V was too tight for street photography. The XCD 4/45P is smaller and lighter with a 35mm equivalent field of view, and the XCD 2.5/38V is even wider at 30mm equivalent.

I experienced the same heat issue when shooting on a hot day. With all of that said, I love the camera. It takes incredible images with explosive colors, and the ability to punch in with little degrading is helpful. So, as a hobbyist, I am happy with the camera. Personally, I found the GFX50r too cumbersome for street shooting and I really don't see any point in buying a 100MP camera to use for street / documentary shooting as 20-40MP is more than enough to have for posting on the web or printing.

I never though printed larger than 1m long by 61 cm wide, which even my fuji xt3 can deliver a high quality print of this size. Still not decided to either go for this one or pull the trigger on Leica M model, hopefully they come up with an M iteration with IBIS.
    But hey love the images you have pulled here and as always love your street photography work and noticed that i have been watching many of your posts without subscribing. Just did now :)

    Why would you use MF for street photography ? Because you'll get a much better rendering of things you will only understand the day you have done it. I did it some fifty years ago and it was a different world, so much more pleasing in the results as well as the pleasure to use.....even compared to the Leica M. For me MF for street photo, yes any time !

    No offense but 12 minutes of video and nothing special. This is a medium format camera and you could show much better photos instead of shooting mirrors or a park. Usually your videos are much more cinematic

    Bro gives cinema feels talking about cameras and casually calls it a camera review video. Smh.

    Dude, i love the content of your videos but the music choice most the time is too much. Maybe turn it down and it will be better. Just my opinion of course.

    stop doing your voiceovers like you're an english teacher reading poetry to class it's so forced

      I guess you're new to the channel. If you don't like it you're free to watch other things, but I actually miss the voiceovers when he doesn't do them. To each their own, but maybe don't be a dick about it. And no it doesn't feel forced.
