    In this video I build an electric skateboard as close to the original boosted board as possible. This board has a top speed of 28 miles per hour (45 km/hour) and a range of up to 17 miles (27 km). It is powered by two massive 6354 2,450W motors for a maximum combined motor power of 4,900W (6.5 Horsepower!). The best part of this board is the flexible loaded vanguard deck, which gives this board a fun springy ride feeling that emulates the classic boosted board.

    Listing the prices and where you attained the parts would make this video perfect.

    *So nice to see this form factor again* 🤩

    Nothin beats this OG esk8 design, it's what made esk8 go from a quirk that hardly anyone rides to the phenominal community and variety we have now.

    A stl file for the 3d electric parts would be awesome, yes please

    Man, I love your company and your products I'm a huge fan of the Demon series. I'm about to start a build on an old skool Powell Peralta deck so I will be getting one of those rkp mini mechanical kits very soon

    I have a dead v1 boosted board and I hope I can yank all the proprietary boosted stuff off the vanguard deck and use the ideas from this video to get back up and running.

    Nice! Would love to get access to the stl files for the enclosures.

    hey :)
    the wheel polly is also 3D printed?
    If so, what material did you use?
    Can you share what parameters you entered into the printer?

      They are injection molded. The prototypes were 3D printed though. I do not recommend 3d printed wheel pulleys. They will break from my experience

    Nice video... Do you have components info to build a hub motor version?

      Thanks! We do not sell any hubs, but there are some options out there. It would make the video even simpler

    I'm sorry if these are dump questions, but I think this is a really cool idea and am considering making one of these from a broken boosted board I found for cheap
    1. This is going on the assumption that I must use VESC 6, as that seems to be the only compatibility overlap between the controller and the ESC: Where is a good place to get a VESC 6 controller/sensor/receiver? (the thing that connects the remote with the ESC), never having heard of them before, I'm having a hard time finding a reputable retailer (and don't know what pricing to look for)
    2. I can't for the life of me seem to find the pinned link to the tutorial video on how to code the ESC linked in the description, only the video embedded in your demon 3.0 video which is a different ESC (not sure about how much carryover there is between the two)

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi,
      1. MakerX has some solid VESC based ESC's at the moment. Flipsky has some popular remote (VX1, VX1 PRO, VX2, VX4).
      2. The 3.0 video tutorial should be pretty similar. A few specifications would need to be changed depending on your battery and motor setup.

    Is the bms built into the batteries? Any recommendations for batteries?

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, the battery has a BMS, yes. It is inside of the shrink wrap. There are a variety of custom builders out there that make nice batteries. Duck Battery Systems has great batteries and MBoards also has a nice selection

    Hello, I know this comment is really off topic, but I really wanted to know. What shoes are you wearing? The gray nikes. I keep searching for nice comfy fabric skateboard shoes with no success.

      Hi, they are nike Air Force 1 fly knit. The fly knit gives the "fabric" like feel.

  • @Mikeonabus
    @Mikeonabus 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thank you for the video, but I am still confused. Boosted as a standard is years below current eSk8 capabillity, so it would seem that building a better "boosted" is at best building a substandard board. It would seem that boosted as a brand was very iPhone-esc in fantasism, building loyality thru expensive exclusion of the poor. In this case Mboard, Meepo, Evolve, etc all of which in practice blow boosted lack luster performance out of the water. Not to mention Casey appears to have moved on as well. So I guess my question is, why hold on to the past?

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This video really goes after the boosted ride feeling and aesthetic, which is what I think were the two best parts of the board. It does this while incorporating DIY quality components. Thus, it takes the boosted platform and elevates it to the modern perfjoamcne standards.

      @@DIYesk8Builders Your board is what a boosted board should have been... at a reasonable price of course. I saw boosted for what it was, just another high end company. Conversly I would buy a $1300 board from you without a thought. You demostrate everything an owner should be. THATS why I get butt-hurt when I hear someone comparing a superiour product like your board with a "just for the money" product like boosted board.
