    • @gregholland11
      @gregholland11 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would love to hear about how you like the remote compared to the more traditional wowgo/backfire style. Could you do some closeups of how you hold it in your hand and how it feels to transition that long throw from acceleration to breaking? Would also love if you could do a torque/acceleration test in the 4wd setup with some big wheels - something like 105+mm. Very curious if 4wd with big wheels would beat out a wowgo 3 with the stock 90mm wheels in turbo mode.

      @subarufamily 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@gregholland11 Hi Greg: I can answer most of your questions. For 4WD with big wheels, watch this...th-cam.com/video/JrtHKtUgiTU/w-d-xo.html
      In my experience on the forums, almost every Revel Kit owner prefers the Kit remote over all others. Its a fantastic remote and that's coming from someone who also owns and loves his two boostedboards.
      The 4WD Revel kit is going to beat the vast majority of boards in a 100 to 200 meter race due to its top speed. For a 2WD drag race, watch this video: th-cam.com/video/iX44_m5Tpq0/w-d-xo.html
      The Revel Kit enforces a gentle start so a Boostedboard G2+ will pull ahead for the first second. But the 2WD Revel kit blows past it before the 100m is up. For a longer race, its like watching the road runner pull away from Willie Coyote. There are not too many boards that could beat a 4WD kit except for a custom built monster DIY board or a Lacroix. With the 2WD Revel Kit I've raced a few Evolves including the fastest evolve models and Evolves with motor upgrades that are suppose to be much faster than the stock GT Evolves. The Revel kit wins for multiple reasons including its strong acceleration curve, higher top speed, fool proof start and high speed stability. I suppose an expert rider on an evolve might win a 100M if he could handle the full power of a GT off the start. I doubt even an expert on the fastest Evolve could beat a 4WD revel kit. I think a Raptor might be able to beat a 4WD kit in a short race but only maybe. It could be a tie -- or the 4WD Kit might even win. I've been looking everywhere to race a Raptor. I just can't find them in my city. The 4wD kit with larger wheels has a higher top speed than a Raptor so in a longer race, the Kit would certainly win.
      Large wheels do tone down the acceleration of a 4WD kit just slightly. But the larger wheels also add alot of top speed. The Larger wheels on the 4WD kit also transform the brakes into something wonderful. The Revel kit offers three different brake settings. 100% is perfect for 2WD. 70% is a good setting to use to get yourself accustomed to the stronger 4WD brakes but you will want to switch up to 100% as soon as you have master shifting your weight. But the 110 mm wheels soften the 4WD's 100% brakes to perfection.
      Regarding the Wowgo, if it can't beat a BoostedBoard G2 + in a 100m race then it can't even beat a 2WD Revel Kit. I don't know if the turbo mode helps the Wowgo to do that. But the Wowgo 3 top speed in turbo mode is 39 kph. My 2WD revel Kit drag race shows the Revel kit finishing the race at 45 kph. So my gut tells me the Wowgo 3 could not beat either the 2WD or 4WD kit in a 100 m race. Reviewing my own video footage, the 4WD kit on 110 mm wheel reaches its top speed of 53 kph in 15 seconds, so it would probably be doing very close to top speed at the end of a 100M race. This is all based on a 215 pound rider. So a lighter rider would likely be finishing a 100 m race in 9 or ten seconds

    Hey Ronny!!!!!
    I am absolutely in love with that Anonymous Tummyulous model of board. That deck is sweet looking. I honestly never heard of the brand being a Florida boy. But watched all the videos and will keep it in mind as my long board is getting rather beat up. And now that I am 45 years old I am entertaining the electric skate idea and watching all your reviews...... I subscribed if it helps!!!!!
    Keep up the great work! How about a multi kit comparison. I'm impressed with the Revel Kit and 120 foamy wheels for the blown sand piles around here. I wouldn't need much of a high end complete board. I usually just push my way to the beach, watch the boy shred some waves, remind the boy mom said dinner is at 5 then catch a quick beer with a buddy. LOL.....
    My kid would be so jelly if I just electric rolled in, I would need to buy the 4 well drive kit as I know he would want one also. LOL ........ Do you have any other comparable kit reviews in the future coming up? Thanks for your time and keep up the great work.

    Just bought this kit (I know they're backed up for weeks/months, but got it new off ebay so it will be here in a couple days suckas). Thanks this video is very very helpful, especially going through the remote controls. My only concern is putting it on a drop-through board, since I'm using a Tan Tien and have only ever used drop-through trucks with it.
    Jealous you get to try out so much stuff. This industry is so "early stage" right now, trying to do research is damn impossible, and you pretty much have to order and hope for the best. That's why I stuck with a deck I already owned and love and got this kit instead of buying one from China that LOOKS sick, but you never know.
    Anyway, It looks like Revel, unlike countless other dead companies, has actually delivered something usable.

    So maybe someone already asked this question but which of the two do you think is better overall as a quality polished product that will last: the mellow or the revel? Obviously the specs on the revel are better but the mellow is apparently built super strong. Something pulls me towards the mellow. I already have multiple boards but have wanted a drive system kit for a long time. I've tried the unlimited eon x loaded kit which is super powerful and fun. However the mellow still has something about it very appealing. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Not saying what I have is the best by any means but I have an Unlimited race kit and the motors are built into the wheel so it has much greater clearance. Top speed around 25 and 10-12 mile range. 1680 watts

    • @subarufamily
      @subarufamily 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No problem pushing when powered down. Like any lithium powered device, you have to respect the low power warnings. Whether its a chainsaw or a skateboard, when you get a low power warning you need to stop and charge up. You can't just keep squeezing power out of a depleted battery. Also not a good idea to try to push charge for a block and then keep riding. These are forms of battery abuse that will kill any battery.

      Until Ronnie comes out with his 4WD Revel Kit Video, you can take a look at this one:

    i want to ask all of you a question, that i got, since i first saw those direct drive solutions. i actually cant believe, that those motors last long. because they are so low to the ground, like less than 1 cm and in addition to that they are pretty long. imagine riding up on a little sidewalk with that kit. if you ride on it in a diagonal way, the motors will get scratches. dont you have to be careful all the time if you dont just ride flat streets?

    • @brycemcintyre141
      @brycemcintyre141 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah you gotta watch where you go but if you put bigger wheels on it the clearance increases. rocks and things hit them from time to time but there is actually a pretty thick and strong protective armor on it. Any belt drive motors that are under the board have the same clearance and that hasn't been an issue.

  • @CPLewands

    Can you recommend this kit over other electric boards in this price catagory?

    • @over1498
      @over1498 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very simple question, but that's what I'm really trying to find out. I'm very interested in direct drive boards, seems like the future. But damn, there's so little info out right now. For this price you can get a "great" quality hub motor board. But I've never been a fan of the hub setup. So many issues, it just simply doesn't work long term. Your motors take big direct bumps, and your paper thin urethane (in direct contact with the heat of the motor) comes apart . I know you can replace the urethane, but these companies go out of business so fast I'd never trust them for replacement parts in the future.
      And the best place for Eboarding information, reddit, is just blinded by whatever is the latest trend/best deal. Sorry for the rant, but I research my buys meticulously and have never had as much indecision as Eboards!

    • @over1498
      @over1498 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBlister69 I did. I got the revel and It died on me in a month. And long story short, they are unable to refund or replace it, so It's a $700 brick now. Would not recommend.
      I also bought a Boundmotor D1. It's huge but still running strong.
      Looks like the Exway Flex might be a great new choice too (and priced close to revel). TBH I would avoid Revel, just from my experience.

      @@over1498 Seems like you didn't take good care of your battery cells. These things last years and years if you don't go over +30 Celsius or below 10. As well as always keeping the battery above 20% and charging at least every 30 days. To go even further yu lubricate your motors and bearings frequently as well.
