    The one complaint I here about the Joe Pass is 45mm nut. Most prefer the 43mm nut. I love mine but prefer the 43mm nut spacing best.

      Where is your problem with 45mm nut?
      Difficult F barre?

    I had someone (a shop) restring a guitar like that. The why is unfathomable to me. I had such a hard time getting the strings off the tuning posts, and I actually pricked myself accidentally with a string and I cursed the shop and used every expletive in the book while spending 4 times as much time and effort trying to undo the shit winding job. NEVER AGAIN.

    I get some pretty filthy guitars here too, mostly the fretboard, used and abused lol good work here man!

    Min. 23:38, the Fingerboard is obviously offset to the neckjoint ??

    the only time there is a pad under the bridge is when it's new and should be removed... the bridge should sit directly on top. out of all my archtops, and i've got 2 that are over $5k, i always come back to my epi joe pass... i LOVE it.
    they are excellent jazz boxes!!! for $600, u kidding me??
    they are the definition of sweetness.

      Wow that’s real nice to hear considering I just got my Joe pass emperor pro a week ago…., right out of the box it looks and sounds beautiful. I am hoping to have the action lowered a bit. I wanna do it myself. Thanks man

    That was some fine decent camera work Eric, Although I think the guitar might have felt a little violated lol

    Awesome Eric. I'm at work and you have me itching to restring my emperor just to play it. I just cannot get past the B string buzzing. I too have a rosewood bridge but something is just not right about the notch for the B string. It buzzes behind the bridge. Annoys me something fierce.

      @zipzipson6556 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try rapping some foam in and out of the strings. Behind the bridge. Looks funny. But it works great for live shows.

    Another great video and I’m ready for the journey, if you don’t mine, where did you get this guitar and how do you shop
    For your projects. And would love to see a video of you on a mission to find your new project.

    Why would there be pads under the bridge ? It’s the main contact point for string vibrations onto the body.

    • @ericctheartofnoise8613
      @ericctheartofnoise8613  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its to protect the finish under the bridge.

    • @notecrackervideos
      @notecrackervideos ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, most times there’s a piece of white protective material under the floating bridge for shipping purposes, but this is obviously not a new guitar. Just to make sure that no one thinks that it under any circumstances would be a good idea to put any kind of pads under a floating bridge. That would defeat the purpose of having the bridge in direct contact with the body and reduce the sustain as it was meant to be. Peace man. 👍🏽

    You are messing with my brain by playing jazz tones and wearing a Megadeth shirt.

      I kinda like the tone I am getting off of it. Getting away from the distortion.

    • @ccjmusic
      @ccjmusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric C yeah I go back and forth tone-wise on the tracks I create. Sometimes you just need a change in tone to inspire something new.

    I had a model similar to this. That removal of the entire electronics was awesome. I've never seen that before. Thanks. Hey, on the bracing, were you checking for cracks? I've seen some crooked bracing in acoustics, but they played well. Eric, I don't want to freak you out, but I spent 35 minutes looking over your shoulder while you worked on this.

    • @ericctheartofnoise8613
      @ericctheartofnoise8613  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was checking for cracks on the braces and to see if anything was loose inside. Seems to be solid. Looking over my shoulder lol.

    Thinking of buying one of these .....

  • @ccjmusic
    @ccjmusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think that bridge was for a 12 string if it has more than one place for the strings?

    • @ericctheartofnoise8613
      @ericctheartofnoise8613  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no.. it would show marks on all the strings.

    • @ccjmusic
      @ccjmusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric C yeah I got to the part where you said it was just on some strings after I posted that.
