    I'll tell you what, of all the automotive TH-camrs I follow, Brent absolutely deserves the world. He works his ass off and works super hard for his boys. I really wish the algorithm pushed his channel harder to get him some good bank.

    You don't need to cut the frame rail. The starter you have is a volkswagen type 1 automatic starter. If you search for starters for type 1 volkswagen, then you'll find a starter you can clock in different positions that will fit straight in the frame. If you want to use a volkswagen original, then you have to find a saxomatic starter. It has the solenoid clocked the other way, but you need to run a bushing in the transmission because the starter doesn't have an internal centering bearing like the automatic starter.

    • @boostaddict_
      @boostaddict_ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The starter on the old transmission is a HiTorque, it might already have that adjustability. May not need any new parts even.

    If that's a MD4S it's a 4 speed sequntial gearbox. The smaller Mendiolla which is either a MD2E which was their economy gearbox or a MD2D which is a heavier duty having wider gears on the stack.. The Mendiolla you took out normally takes a high torque mini starter. Can you get a high torque mini starter for the new MD4S. would probably slide right in.

It’s a given that the transmission mount will have to be repositioned so might as well raise the engine and transmission to a height that will accommodate the starter.
