I have had the G3 for about a year now. One of the reasons I went with Force USA is due to your earlier videos. Thanks for making them.
Theres lots of things I love about the G3 and a some things I hate. The fit and finish is excellent. The quality and ease of build is excellent as well. I use it all the time. My problem is mostly with the accessories. They too are excellent quality but there are some engineering problems that really suck and you pay a lot for them.
First, when you add the leg press, it works as advertised but due to the black safety bars that are installed, it prevents the smith machine bar from being able to extend up to the highest position. This now makes a hell of a head buster when walking around it when not using the smith bar. I have to put pads on the ends and it's too low now.
Second, and the one that really pisses me off, is that with stabilizer bar attached, you can't use the smith machine for bench pressing because it prevents the bench from being pushed back enough. The stabilizer bar sticks out too far to lay in the proper position. And worse, you cant even come close to doing incline barbell presses with the smith machine due to this stabilizer bar. I had to remove this attachment all together because part of the reason I bought the G3 was for the smith machine in the first place.
The final thing is the lat pull down attachment. You'll find you can't really sit low enough on it to properly extend your arms using the lat pull down bar.
I do love the basic machine. Just be very careful about purchasing the attachments. I contacted Force USA about these issues. Nice people but I found them very unhelpful. They didn't seem to care much about the problem at all. Sounded like they had no way to deal with the issues because they are built in Australia I think? They were going to "pass my info on". A lot of good that did for me. I have some very expensive accessories I can't use.
If I were to purchase a smith machine again, honestly, it would be hard for me to go with ForceUSA again. I would probably consider the competition more than I did. The G3 without the attachments is very nice, but with them, not well thought out unfortunately. And If I did purchase again, I'd spend the extra money on the weight stacks. The 2 to 1 ratio on the cables on the G3 is a big pain. You have to put so much weight on it to do most exercises. And I'm not a big guy. You have to consider how many plates you need to buy to make the G3 useful.
I hope this helps others in their decision.

Thanks so much for the detailed comment on your G3 experience.
I did my first full workout on the G3 earlier this morning and I agree about the stabilizer bar. I can see the benefit for those who need it in certain situations.
I left the safety bars off the leg press attachment and find range of motion more important at this time.
I’ll be testing the lat pulldown seta and will pay attention to what you pointed out.
Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching the videos.

@@StevieRichardsFitness You bet. I appreciate the time it takes for you to do these videos. You do a good job. 👍
Another thing I didn't mention before, more of an annoyance than anything else, you'll notice that if you hang the lat bar and the other bar in its intended storage spot, the bars won't hang there properly with the plates stored in it's proper place. Just another strange design/engineering thing.

Thanks for watching, commenting and emailing support.
That code can save you some money too, so definitely see if they can do that.
      Enjoy the G3

I had a G9 loved it and really enjoyed it until I saw your G20 video....bought that and sold my G9 and regret nothing. Really enjoy that fact that Force USA puts quality in every function. Im surprised that you went from stacked weights to plate loaded but to each his own. I hope you get everything out of it and it meets all your expectations. Take care Stevie and God bless.

Agreed about the weight stacks. Most people who go with plate loaded to save money end up getting tired of loading and unloading weights and wish they sprung more for the weight stacks.

Brotha, Thank you for your very informative videos on the Force USA G3. Based on reviews, and your videos, I purchased the G3.
I used your discount code and got a nice amount off my purchase! Thank you!
I included the leg press accessory and wanted to know if you have a suggestion as to when I should attempt to add the safety bars in the assembly, so I don’t have to do twice the work.

From what I’ve gathered, the safety bars get installed before you finishing installing the smith machine bar.
Everything is hand tightened until near the end of the assembly, so you’re good to get them on the G3 in little time.
Thanks for using the code and subscribing to the channel. Keep me updated on how the G3 is working for you.

Great video. I wish there had been something like this for my G9 (spoke with you about it on another post).
Mine came in the plywood "coffin". It took a while to get off the delivery truck, but I have a garage, so it was OK. I was impressed with the packing.
After unboxing and laying everything out, I only got to work on it about an hour because of work. The instructions are not well detailed. This was fine for me, as I am experienced at reading schematics, but I could see how they could intimidate the average person.
I see that you have a discount code, which i definitely would have used, but I couldn't have combined it with my military discount.
I'm looking forward to your full review video.

Thanks for the comment and sharing your experience on the G9. The packaging can make a difference depending on where it’s being delivered.
Most importantly, thank you for your service.

@@StevieRichardsFitness finally got the g9 together. It's a beauty. There really isn't much that I can't do on this thing. I have the G9, a set of 5-50 dumbbells, a FID bench, and 600lbs of Olympic weights. I tried to find you on Twitter to post a picture, but you were nowhere to be found on there. I don't feel like there's too much more that I'd need to have a full gym. Maybe a rogue echo bike in the future.
Thanks for the videos, thanks for recognizing my service, and I hope you're enjoying your G3! I look forward to seeing your video review of it! By the way, one of my favorite videos is the 2 part series on the letters at the Bush funeral. I've been what could be known as a "conspiracy theorist", or someone who uses my brain, for 20 years or so. I'd love to see some future videos like that, if you're still into that stuff. I do understand that it could get your channel demonetized, though, so I understand if you don't go into that realm again.
Anyway, take care! And again, thanks for pointing me in the direction of the G9. It's been a lifelong dream to have a home gym.

Thanks for taking us through the process. Can't wait for my G9 to arrive! Wish I could use your code but I'm from Belgium, it's a 3rd party dealer.

I rarely see people going from a weight stack to plate loaded, it’s usually the other way around.

From what I see in the instructions, assemble as directed and only hand tighten everything. You’ll probably have to double back a little and remove the front box tubes. Just get the safety bar before everything is tool tightened.
