My Neo CD SD Loader is the discless console. I bought it from a professional however it has sound issues, when I leave the game on after 45 minutes the voice-overs get distorted and crackly. It's the most irritating buzzing like nails on a block of ice! When I mention the sound I'm talking about the sound fx (voice-overs, ambient sounds, hitting, etc.) not the actual BGM. Everything else on the console works. I sent it to a tech person THREE TIMES they said they fixed the sound but when I got it back each time the sound failed. I contemplated going to another tech person but now I'm at a point where I might repair the damn thing myself! I haven't made a final decision yet but if I was to self-service the mod this video provided some insight. Even though the console in question doesn't have a disc drive and yours does. I know how to open consoles I just never soldered. But your video was instructional as far as that goes. I'll look up a couple more videos so I can get it down pat. Either way, I spent a lot of money on this hardware. I'm gonna make it work! The question becomes where would I go on the board to fix the sound problem? Is it those CDDA cables you pointed to? If that's the case I may not need any solder work. I just need to unplug and replug them cables. In your expert opinion where would I need to perform the operation? Does something need to be de-soldered and re-soldered or is it those damn CDDA cables?
Could need a recap of the board, if a failing cap is at fault that deals with sound output. Also, the RCA jack inputs could need reflowing (check continuity first with a multi meter) and check the CN3 header area for the CDDA.
It's a shame that here in Brazil, consoles were already expensive before this retrogame boom. Now the prices are completely insane. Here at least when we wanted a new console we needed to sell the old one. So it's pretty rare for anyone to have kept an older one. I've always been extra careful with my stuff and I still have a PS3 FAT (I think it's the CECH01) and a black gamecube (DOL 001), both immaculate, plus a good collection of games equally in almost brand new condition. Unfortunately, the more prices go up, the less courage I have to take even a single screw out of them and the more I consider selling them. Otherwise I would really want to install some mods like that on them, but I believe their value would drop compared to in original condition. sry my english .. great video as always!!
I totally understand that. I was actually in Brazil a few weeks ago and it’s true that the video game market there has gotten very expensive. Glad to hear that your systems are working well though! Thanks again for watching the video!
Can't buy this damn thing anywhere. What is the point in releasing when there's the demand but the product doesn't exist anywhere. Anyone can help where to find this for sale I have the Console with a dead lazer 😔
Hi. Can you tell me if all NeoCD games are playable on this ODE without any patching needed? Or do some/all games need to be patched for it to run. I have the redump set. Thanks.
@@matterhorn5617 You still need to patch the protected games from the Redump set. The redump set has the OG files, so non are modified, as I went the long route and ripped the patched files from already patched sets (non redump) and added them to the Redump files that needed them using CDmage. You could use the non redump sets that have patched files but there are either ISO, WAV, or IMG, which is why I re did my own using redump because they all work properly.
Both YTers that I watch that have covered this have completely omitted out shutting the case. I've got the front part of the top on but the back feels like I'm pushing up on something mushy and will only close with a little bit of force. What could that be?
Hmm there is a piece of plastic on the top that might bump into the pcb that’s soldered on the Saturn av connector. My only suggestion is to see if there’s any plastic nearby that it could be making contact with
i have a question for you good sir do you have a discord room that i might be able to join. it doesn't have to do with this mod, its about the nes RGB mod.
it'll be great if they ever figure out how to boot regular roms. that'll make the value of these jump and remove the need for AVS/MVS unless you're a collector
THIS KIT IS BADASS !!! you will rediscover your console, and have great fun to play with 4x speed loading and in game menu... this is INSANE !! I install it myslef and it's easy , just except the pin to solder on the TOP SPI-2 chipset ! the reste is not that hard ....
Happy new year! I’ve just uploaded a very quick video of an issue I have with a neo cd sd loader. Not sure if you can shed any light on it please? Thank you
@@LIRetroGaming hey buddy, I’m solved my issue. It doesn’t show any interference with the framemeister. Guessing it’s my OSSC settings, the neo geo cd does seem more sensitive than my other consoles with RGB settings etc.
My neo-geo cd console play burn game as a colector item i prefer it in original condition. I play emulation only as in scared the capacitors will fail 😂

Thank you! I have bought 2 of this, but never had time to install it. Now I definitely will do so.

The Doctor does it again!
No LEDs are turning on when I power on the system
I’m currently looking at the Neogeo CD to fill out my retro console station.

I've been watching for one also. My laser works yet, but want this extra toy. I can't find it anywhere either.

Yes all neo cd games are compatible

I looked at the website and Neo Geo mods are not on the list... I would really like to have this done to my top loader
Message me on the website and I can help out with the installation
@@LIRetroGaming I did. Thank you
How much do you charge to install one? I’m local from Long Island??
Best way to reach George is to shoot him an email at info@1uprestorations.com :)

I don’t have a discord but you can feel free to email me
Can the Neo Geo CD play ROM's for the OG Neo Geo? Beautiful work, BTW!!
Nope!
Can’t you just put the foam directly on the mod board instead?
I think that you could, but the shielding is a very flat surface so it sticks quite well to it
Is this mod compatible with the Frontloader and CDZ?
I believe there is a version of this compatible with the front loader. But not the CDZ

Can you install aes games on it ?
You are limited to Neo Geo CD games, but there are a lot of AES games that also made it to this platform
Long Island Retro Gaming lame 😒
Long Island Retro Gaming someone needs to port them.people have ported CD games to the aes carts
I really love mine to be honest

Actually, can you add a link to this conversation? I just tried looking and I had a hard time finding it
