There is always heavy traffic on Palava junction which causes major inconvenience to around 2 lakh travellers daily, that is why the flyover work is going on for many years by MSRDC to reduce the congestion, which was stalled for many years due to land acquisition issues.
KALYAN One of the routes of important Palava-Katai flyover being constructed on the Kalyan-Shilphata Road, which will connect cities like Kalyan-Dombivli, Ulhasnagar and Ambernath with Navi Mumbai, Thane and Mumbai, will be opened by the end of December, this year.
At present, 70 per cent of the work of this bridge has been completed and the railway has also approved the construction of the bridge. The work of preparing the steel structure of the flyover is in progress and after the launching of the girder, other works will be speeded up".
After this bridge is opened for traffic, it will help to reduce the traffic congestion on Kalyan-Shilphata road and help travellers from Kalyan-Dombivli, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Mumbai.There is a lot of progress in the work in the direction from Desai Naka to Katai Naka.But the work in the part opposite direction is very slow.It is expected that road will be ready by the end of this year and will be opened to the public.
