This road and its surrounding is ideal to have a riverfront project. Nice greenary surrounding the road could be converted into gardens and parks adjoining Ulhas river. Residential areas could then be constructed on left of the road which is visible in some areas.
Any place beyond Thane, is cursed, not a single project can be completed within 1000 years - Kalwa: Kalwa-Airoli Railway Line. Mumbra: ROB expansion next to the existing one close to Mumbra Station. Diva: ROB next to the Station. West side has no ramp built at all, so trains on all 6 railway tracks are delayed. Kopar: WDFC. Dombivli: Palava city - WDFC and Flyover skipping Palava junction, being built for 7 years ( just to compare, MTHL took 6 years to build and that was 20 km over the sea) Thakurli: An additional ramp to the existing ROB near the station. Kalyan: Expansion of the existing Patri Pul, Metro Line 5 (Bhiwandi to Kalyan stretch), Kalyan SATIS Places beyond Kalyan - adding 3rd and 4th line. Honourable Mention - Diva Platform 1A, only built for roughly 6 to 7 coaches, instead of 12.

Markets of this city are beggars of this city...begging for their own rights. Poor infrastructure, education, medical and toughest daily travels. Kalyan Station bridge pe sirf 2-3 log dikhte hain hathoda marte hue, kabhi tak hoga pata nahi 5+ yrs hogaya hai. Full on traffic ho jata hai morning and evening me.
Ground work has not started yet. They will have to build a elevated station at Malad becoz of unavailability of space on west side. Constructing a elevated station will take a lot of time, if it follows the timeline of Kurla's elevated harbour line station (which is still under construction) the extension of harbour line from goregaon to borivali is easily 10 years away.
The various gaps in development of this road project is probably due to various landowners / parties approaching Courts for compensation and their cases are pending....It will take long time to decide those cases....
Don't know why but always ulhasnagar ambernath badlapur PPL are neglected...you may check the progress of Indian railways on these side for better understanding

All infra projects in immediate outskirts of Mumbai city are either delayed or executed in a low quality way so that it will break soon. Can't Mumbai's real estate sharks increase quality of living in Mumbai instead of making government to behave so badly to outskirts? I cannot think of any other reason this is happening in cities in immediate outskirts of Mumbai alone.
Looks like work is intentionally left in very small patches without significant reason looking from drone. I think it is simple case of unpaid dues to construction companies. Large parts of the shown road could be completed and started in a month if political will was present
It is a criminal negligence by the authorities. Why a special team is not deployed to remove and resolve the issues. People representative from that region is sleeping I think. 😮

Why only 2 lanes each way?? Navi Mumbai se inspiration/planning Leni chaiye year 2000 ke time 3-4 lanes each way banaye CIDCO ne.
Unlike railway line extensions land aquisition is not easy for roads. Navi mumbai is an exception because its a semi planned township
