We can’t please everyone. Communities want cities cleaned up but not how we are doing it or we aren’t doing enough. People just don’t understand the foundation of these issues. Not all homeless people are addicts and not all addicts are homeless. Look deeper!!! 😢😢

Thank you for taking the time to put together this information as it applies to Toronto and Canada overall !!! It's too easy to view this problem as something that is only happening to a few larger cities in the US !!! Unfortunately, it's showing itself throughout north america including in our own backyard !!! Thank you for opening our eyes that it's happening all around us ... 😞

You make a very valid point that the professionals should be allowed to just get on with designing solutions. We wouldn't stand for the same level of social/political interference in hard infrastructure.

Take a look around. Nothing is like I remember it. There are some positive things, but others negative. One of the playgrounds I used to visit, I went to decompress on the monkey bars, and it was torn out and now has unwelcoming looking jagged steering wheels hanging upside down… I left there depressed. Everything seems to say “don’t sleep around here”… and I kind of get why when it’s the suburbs I grew up in feeling like I owned the place, and now there’s a bum sleeping where I used to ride my skateboard. And he doesn’t know my story but he tells me something or looks at me crazy for disturbing him and I just don’t like it. Or the entrance to the expressway and there’s a showercap hanging on the banister over the canal bridge like he’s been showering in canal water and now means to taunt me about it. I get really mad sometimes. We’ve been paying off this damn house for twenty years, to suffer shitty neighbors and a booming bum population just smoking spice and being weird.
