  • Every summer at Depot in Regina, Saskatchewan the Royal Canadian Mounted Police puts on a series of Sunset-Retreat Ceremonies as a celebration of Canadian history. If you are looking for something to do on a visit to Regina in 2022 then check out this video.
    This ceremony includes cadets from the RCMP Academy, the dog handling division and the RCMP Bands of Pipes and Drums.

    I served with the 2nd Battalion Canadian Guards. We drilled a lot in order to do our duties of Changing the Guard on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, and it had to be perfect. These Mounties are second to none, great drill, great show. Very well done RCMP

    Very well-executed and typically-British in its splendour. That 29:16 Sunset bugle call needs serious work though.

      Ah the bugle! Having filmed a few of these I find that judging the cadet on bugle duty on effort rather than level of perfection is the best course of action!

    I have the same cannon from King Henry VIII., mine fires a 2" ball. I am a Thorne Family member and his great grandson.

    We Canadians are aware that policing is the RCMPs primary purpose and without doubt they are exceptional. However their drill needs a
    great deal of work and should be eliminated from any public display.
    They are after all highly trained police officers.

      The quality of the drill is often questionable.. but overall it is pretty fun to watch.

      @@conradhuhn4994 Correction: I have done quite a bit of drill, but not actually in the military nor the police. I'm currently in the air cadets (whom I do not speak for), and in the sqn drill team.
