Speed Queen Top Loader water valve changeout

Here is a video showing that the hot water does not work on the commercial speed queen top loader, and how to change out the water valve. On top loaders there is only 1 water valve that operates the cold and hot water.

I don't understand why you took the top off.
I have what looks like the same machine and the valve comes out the back after removing just 1 sheet metal screw.
Also, Speed Queen warrantee is worthless. My water mixing valve died after a few months and I had to buy the part myself because Speed Queen ignored my warrantee claim.
They may have saved themselves a few bucks but I will remember it when I buy more equipment.
Even if they did react quickly the failure rate is horrible. 2 out of 4 top loaders had problems within a few months. That's a 50% failure rate for equipment that is significantly more expensive than comparable GE or Whirlpool.

Is there a load counter that can tell how many loads that machine has washed?

No load counter that I am aware of. Of course, if you made it cashless, and had it wired in for the card system, then yes you could tell how many loads that particular machine has washed I believe.

In you’re estimation how many loads can these washers and dryers run before major problems begin?
I have an 8 series commercial set that I bought mid 2016. And so far they’ve been very good. My load count pales in comparison to a large families load count.

@@dmc31405 It is really hard to say, because it would depend of the type of loads people put in. Of course, you aren't gonna get the mileage on these soft mounts like a front load hard mount washer.

Does anyone have any idea why when draining spinning water spills from top between balance ring and cover???

you may need a hub and seal. Sounds like a bearing maybe?

I need to replace the whole agitator in a SpeedQueen. How do I get past that nylon noodle just below the softener cup? Pull with plyers or lefty-loosey with plyers? TIA!

@@splashemoutlaundromat Thank you for the response. I did repair the machine. The agitator comes out as one piece. Nothing in the top needed to be removed. I removed the whole agitator by looping 2 different ropes under the bottom and lifting with those. The replacement agitator basically snapped down on a pin-like mechanism.
