Doing at least 3 takes so is all flows well and is complete without a script.

It took me over a whole year of making videos before I felt natural enough to upload it. Putting in the reps and feeling comfortable was my biggest challenge. Great final addition.

Talking to the camera in a quiet airport is still one of the hardest things. Your tip about having something in your hands was spot on. Anytime I’m doing something besides just talking to camera, the words always comes out a lot easier.

Oooofff. I definitely try to get it all in 1 take and that jumbles all my words and it all comes out like, blaaaahhhhh. Thanks for the tips :)

Really good advice! All of them are things that I learned over time to do also. Scripting is important to keep you focused on what story you are telling or what point you want to get across to your audience - even if you don't use the script word by word and say it a different way when you go out to film - The script helps you stay on track and really helps in the edit. Thanks for sharing this information - it's going to help many TH-camrs starting out!

"Put in the reps" is probably the best tip here. I still struggle alot with talking to the camera, let alone in public. I probably just need to do it more.

Awesome tips! It is certainly not so easy as it seems. I am curious, do you usually memorize your scripts or you are reading them as you talk to the camera?

Hahaha… I just started filming again for my TH-cam channel last weekend and I made the mistake 2, looking in most of the shots to the flip screen! 😂

    Tip 8 (Maybe?)
Always check your hardware before recording - be it camera, mic , memeory card etc etc..
NOTHING demotivates you more and psychs you out more than recording a video and when it comes to the edit, something went wrong with the audio or the card died in mid record ... still happens to me these days .. not that I'm a create creator but been doing for 2 years now and still have this happen.. :(

Sign everything (wrong, what I wanted to say is: I agree on everything you say), even though I've been doing this for over a year now, it isn't so easy. It is not - as you said - take your camera, go outside and talk in 1 take and publish it. And tbh, recording the material is not the time consuming part. Scripting, Planning, Lighting, Editing takes so much longer. I think this video is also an eye opener for a lot of people. Producing videos is EFFORT - BUT it makes so much fun 🥰 Btw. I am also running a camera channel, just sayn'

    • @Herfinnur

Loved the video brother. Scripting is good, but if you’re not passionate about what you’re talking about, it won’t be believable. If you believe what you’re talking about, it will come out more natural.

I normally enjoy your videos but this one has irritated me. I lost count of the number of times you said "talking to the camera". Sounded like you were stuffing keywords for the algorithm instead of talking naturally. When you do this, each time you will lose a little of your authenticity I'm afraid. I subscribe to your channel so I wish to support you and I hope you take the comment as one of constructive criticism.

    • @TeppoHaapoja
      @TeppoHaapoja  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

My friend, I can assure you that Im not strategic enough to think about the algorithm. I should have thought of other ways to describe talking to the camera but its not easy 😂

@@the_mig of course it wouldn't have the same ring. All I am saying is that it's not natural to repeat the phrase as many times as he does. Teppo is a great presenter and I love his videos and insights but if you watch it again - just count the number of times it is repeated - unnecessary.

Scripting is so important, because few of us are able to connect all thoughts and information succinctly into a seamless take. I basically edit 50% of the video by just working the script.

Two things that do irk me is when vloggers look at the screen, and the other is when they have the camera pointing up at their face and you can literally see up their nose. Yuk

Talking to the camera in public... man, does it feel awkward! But I have a friend that does video, too, so when we are out together, I feel much more confident filming myself. Otherwise, I try to find a quiet place.

Love the tip about using a teleprompter app on your
phone and attaching it to your tripod with a magic arm. That would help so much with staying on track while talking.
Another thing was you changed locations with each tip. I’m so guilty of shooting a whole video in one spot out of laziness lol.

The focus should not be on covering Trump. We know what he is. The focus should be on ensuring we get out and vote. That is the only way to ensure he is defeated.
