Seemed like a missed opportunity for Lego to remake the TIE Crawler for the 25th Anniversary this year 😢 The sandspeeder is definitely one of my favourite sets in my collection and I hope the rumoured Jedi Bob's Jedi Starfighter re-kicks the trend of Lego releasing more Jedi ships instead of always being Anakins or Obi-wans! 😂
Sand Speeder is from the (late Empire era - post “Battle of Endor”) Battle of Jakku. One of the pilots helmets matches the one Rey has appropriated by the start of TFA, suggesting they perhaps didn’t survive their last expedition.
I got the sandspeeder a few years ago off ebay for the growing tatooine shelf at the time and love it. Didn't they make up some lore for it to be from jakku? Anyway, in 2024, my star wars shelf has the midi super star destroyer and probe droid. Disney put half a dozen containers off it under the bed. Will it ever come back? Don't know.
To be clear, Disney didn't cancel the Expanded Universe because they didn't like the things in it. They just wanted a clean slate so that they would have more freedom in creating an original story for the sequel trilogy (for all the good it did). In fact, Disney is so detached from the creative process that they probably don't even have an opinion about anything from the EU, even as they are re-releasing EU content as part of the Essential Legends Collection. Also, I would say that the buildable figures from the mid-2010's are less like the mechs and more like the buildable figures that are currently being made for the DC and Marvel themes. Which makes me feel like LEGO Star Wars will inevitably get figures like those, too, whether we want them or not.
There have been two motorized AT-ATs! The first one being part of Mindstorms. Also, the idea of swamp/airspeeder has been mentioned in a few eu-comics, the sand speeder was pretty obvious extension of this template. (Surprisingly Lego never released a proper airspeeder though)
I remember when the first SW video was released. I'm surprised I'm not running around on a Zimmer - thank God for Lego to keep me feeling youthful lol - Have an awesome day!💥From Fun At Home (supporting content creators)☮
I feel like this list should have waited for later because there’s a rumored dark side millennium falcon and combinable X-Wing & TIE Fighter set coming this year. Those are very weird!
Combing parts of an X-Wing and a TIE fighter to create a new ship is definitely something that happened in the old Expanded Universe. And since Lego is all about modularity and reconfigurability, this makes total sense as a set concept!
The rogue shadow was my first Lego Star Wars set as a kid. And I just recently bought it again as an adult. It’s one of my favorite sets of all time. And it makes me wish we got more Star Wars video game sets. I just want a Lego Ebon Hawk from KOTOR
Genndy Tarkovsky's Clone Wars is some of the best Star Wars content to ever Star Wars.

Surprised you didn’t mention the Republic Fighter Tank with Mace Windu and the purple clone troopers! Probably the most recent set in this whole list.

Great vid, would've been great to have seen Jedi Bob on here! Or those weird technic sets, like the Jango Fett or C3PO ones from early on

Love to see some old EU love in the Lego community 🥰

Man, DIsney really screwed up when they are taking things from Legends, and making them worse.

Fun video. Good stuff!
The Darth Maul head still gives me nightmares lol
I turn him around so he’s facing the wall when I go to sleep😅
@@Dr_dog_frog 😂😂😂 good idea! 🤣
That was not Anakin’s Star fighter with Anakin fig. That was Admiral Akbar’s Daisy Mae with Anakin fig. Admiral sold separately.🤠
