I read somewhere that Henry Rollins owns a lot of property. When he started making big-ish money, he just banked it for a few years because he wasn't sure what to do. Asked around and was advised that it was hard to go wrong buying land. So if he's sitting on a few million in property a $200k speaker isn't too bad as a ratio of his overall finances. some rich dudes buy luxury cars and rolexes, Rollins drives a subaru but splurges on his audio system

The best speakers money can buy are Klipschorns AK6 series, the great big corner ones. The back is angled to actually fit fully flush into a corner of a room, thus incorporating the third principle of dynamic acoustic resonance of wavelength defelection, which is the only speaker system fully based and built soley on the Newton-Laplace Equation.

I got lucky and stumbled into a home theater store in Scottsdale. There we listened to many different speakers and the only Wilson's (what those are) I heard were a set of bookshelf speakers, and man were they good. The owner of the shop was explaining those speakers Henry has and the angle is perfectly set with tension wires or something like that. It sounds crazy. But then, I got to listen to a pair of Sonus Faber Fenice's which are pretty much the same price and man did they sound amazing. But I think I'll stick to my yamahas and Maggie's for now, and maybe hope to afford some linns or cheaper sonus' in the future.

Henry is very publicly open in speaking about his preference for seclusion and being left alone when he is home. He spoke to Joe about that very topic when he was on the podcast. I'm sure that's why Joe is hesitant to ask. I'm not a Rollins expert or anything. It's just how Henry has spoke about this before.

    1000 albums isn't a lot of albums.
I have about 600 albums on vinyl and about 1400 albums on CD.
Joe, do yourself a favor and go and listen to a well setup stereo system.

Specs. I'll be the judge if they are worth the price.
Anybody god the name or model or something? For that price, it better have all the bells and whistles.
...or maybe I need to get a job...

I cant imagine speakers being worth $200,000. at some price point there really cant be that much improvement to sound quality, especially since the human ear can only pick up on so many frequencies. So even if the speakers can outplay what a human can hear, how does that help you. I think this is more of a status thing, like a Rolex. at the end of the day it just tells time.

Most speakers produce a piss poor facsimile of the recording, most Wilson speakers would astonish you as to how well they actually sound like a real performance.Volume and dynamics like having the band in your listening space.

While I cant AFFORD either, I still prefer the aesthetics of Magico speakers to Wilson Audio, and the former finally made a speaker that the peasants among us can at least aspire to. 10K USD isnt chump change, esp in these COVID-afflicted times, but compared to the seriously high-end speakers both companies make, its considered 'affordable'. The Beolab 90 is in a whole other class of 'weird looking speakers' but some of the large horn speakers at that end of the market are just as mind blowing. Ask your partner if you can move these into the living room .....

I got a pair of Bose bookshelf speakers at a thrift store for $20. They sound great. I would take the $199,980 and by a lambo and a whore. But that's just me. You do what you want with your money.
