Great reaction - it was weird seeing Ren spitting so hard walking down the street in Calgary (my hometown), but also, super cool... I'm not a rap guy, never really been a fan of the genre, but seeing some of what he's done, and his respect for the craft changed my mind a little - sucked in by the musicality, and brought an appreciation for the bars, the double and triple meanings (this is so full of that) that he employs - not just employs, but brings attention to in other artists. Still not a rap "guy", but I appreciate it more than I used to, and enjoy it a lot more (when I was a kid I was exposed to artists like Will Smith as the Fresh Prince, Young MC, Beastie Boys, where there were songs and tracks that hit, but friends were rock, family was country, surroundings were classic rock and metal, so it wasn't heavy exposure). Love that he's bringing it in a way that promotes that culture and influence. Not sure how much of it's coming out the Van area, but I'm for sure more open than I was to checking it out than a couple years ago even - it's pretty amazing.
Stuff like this he usually pins the lyrics in the contents for when you go back & relisten. There are a million and one easter eggs hidden for the Nas superfans to find as well - have fun!! 🎶💜
🔥 🔥 🔥 I watched an in depth analysis and there are TONS of hidden double meanings through this, such as Nas called himself Kid Wave when he started = Waviest guy lyric. 😊
Ren was born in 1990 and wrote a song called "1990's" about growing up in that era filled with nostalgic fun pop culture references. I don't see it on your playlist yet, but I think you would appreciate it.
I didn't see this in the comments, The time for this video is half the time of the original (Halftime). Ren dropped this on 3/14 that is Pi Day, He mentioned Pie rats ( pirates) Crazy details not everyone gets.
Im 41, grew up in Cali during the West Coast/East Coast beef. I listened in secrecy to Onyx, 👐u-tang, Mobb Deep, and others cuz my friends would judge if they knew I liked NY hip hop.
This is my first time on your channel. I’m looking forward to seeing your reaction and breakdown to this. Where are you from? The way that you say Nas is interesting. I never heard it pronounced that way. I mean, you sound like you’re from the north east so interesting. Because me and all my friends and all the people I know that love Nas pronounce it NAZ you’re the only person I’ve ever heard actually pronounce it with the S NAS. Anyway, yeah, Ren kills this and I appreciate your breakdown and knowledge of the rap game. I got you got some more.
The Ren fan group is working to get the song Sick Boi to 8M views by its 1 yr anniversary on Sunday. Can everyone hop over and give it a view in support of our Boi? Thanks!!
Only ren can rap about Mike Tyson, pirates, fast food and the physics behind an atom bomb in one song and make it sound perfect 😁💜🥹
So many miss he rapped an atom bomb lol
Facts!!
I'm so happy you found Ren. I enjoy your reactions!
Check out Ren's....What You Want (Beastie Boys)

"Breaking Atoms by Main Source"
"The Big Picture by Big L"
Ren puts so much effort into his videos. Notice the crosswalk countdown and he looks back over his shoulder when nailed it on zero.
pretty sure that was serendipity, but sick nonetheless
And the school bus going past when he's rapping about the old school.
just have to say , Ren did this in half the time , as Naz halftime full length , clever i say
What You Want if you want some early 90s Ren for sure 👍 Appreciate the reaction!
I love this track. My favorite line is "librarian brain pulling up barbarian slang".
You gotta check out Fire by Ren still! It’s like smooth criminal meets 90’s rock with a twist of Ren.
LOve this shit! Thanks for the reaction....catch you on the next live, brother!
yesssssssssss finally lessgooooo

This being Half the time of the original is just another detail Ren never misses!!!

What You Want or 1990s should be next! 🙌
Thank you awesome ❤❤❤
I swear every time I watch one of your vids I could swear you're Canadian! 😅
Fan fact: A part of the lyrics is actually a group of comments under Nas "Halftime" video on TH-cam. 😅 Ren is a genius. 🧡
Yeah What you want a nod to the old school!
Thanks for your reaction. ❤

Thank you bro 🙏
Respect
He's just awesome
Serendipity: Besides the crosswalk timing, the coincidence of an empty old-school bus passing by as Ren sings about losing the greats
