5 great albums. IMO. Played them over & over all week. Will continue till ten AM Sunday. Pete/ the album rankings as I said a gazillion times rules ! Thx for your time. Pete 👍💯
All 5. Phenomenal imo. For today anyway. Going. 1- V. 2- ll. 3- l. 4- lll 5- lv. But a 5 ranking in this to me is still. Fabulous Thx Pete for your time 👍💯
Thanks, Pete! Great band. After hearing about them on your channel, I went and picked up the whole lot. Hell, I even bought a tshirt. Looking forward to your review!
Lucifer Five is simply five star. Maculate Heart is one of the most “catchy rocky” tracks of 2024. A band deserving of a much bigger following. Great run through of their albums.
Been looking forward to this ranking, Pete, since this is one of the first bands that caught my attention when came to SoT channel over 4 years ago and bought III after some review of that album and your discussion about the name was a hindrance and not necessarily indicative of the music. Have enjoyed all the albums and though it is the most recent, V currently tops the following ranking [which is subject to periodic change] 1. V 2. III 3. II 4. Debut 5. IV Thanks again for bringing this band to the attention of SoT viewers. Encourage more viewers to give the band a listen.
Great Band! Been following them since their humble beginnings in 2014. Saw them on tour with Pallbearer and High on fire the following year and was blown away. That's also why their debut will always be my favorite, because i remember that it was rotating non stop in my playlist.
Great band. Gets better with each album. Ranking today is. 1. IV 2. V (I believe in time this will be tops. Great fall album, will listen to it then again.) 3. III (My entry point to the band.) 4. II (3 listens so far. Fantastic like the rest of the catalog.) 5. I
Amazing band! I love all of their albums. I really dig all of the musical ingredients they bring to their sound, whether it's blistering hard rock, doom, blues, or psychedelic rock.
1) II 2) V 3) IV 4) III 5) I Thanks for doing this show Pete. These were really hard to rank, and if you ask me tomorrow, I might list them differently. What a great band! I love the new album, and I can't wait to hear what they do next. Johanna may be my favorite Rock vocalist at the moment.
This is how they're ranked on my site right now, but when I get a chance to listen to 'em together, it could change. I threw in The Oath because it's an important album, kind of like a prelude to Lucifer, and a Must hear for Lucifer fans. Too bad The Oath didn't get to tour North America before breaking up. Favorite Lucifer shows were them opening for Ghost at the Riviera, and at Psycho Las Vegas, I think 2018. 1. Lucifer II (Century Media, 2018) 2. Lucifer V (Nuclear Blast, 2024) 3. Lucifer IV (Century Media, 2021) 4. Lucifer III (Century Media, 2020) 5. The Oath (Rise Above, 2014) 6. Lucifer I (Rise Above, 2015)
Huge Hellacopters fan here. Became awared of Lucifer when they released their second album in 2018, the first one with Nicke. Really happy to see a ranking of their album and specially happy to see that my favorite is also yours. For me there are 2 Lucifers: the first album one, with the guy from Cathedral as the musical director: very doomy/another production approach. And then there's Lucifer 2 onwards, when it became Nicke Andersson's baby (he produces and is the main songwriter). Just one comment, Nicke Andersson plays EVERYTHING on Lucifer 2: drums, bass, organ, rhythm and lead guitars (his lead guitar is very recognizable if you are a Hellacopters or Imperial State Electric fan - very Ace Frehleyish). Only half of the guitar solos on Lucifer 2 is played by Robin Tidebrink. The only albums that are easy to rank IMO are Lucifer 2 (still their best) and Lucifer I (because is kinda different), anything from Lucifer 3 to 5 may change position in any given day. I get the people who likes the first one better, they're probably more Doom fans than 70's Psych/Hard Rock fans. So it would be: 1- II 2- IV 3- V 4- III 5- I Cheers from Brazil.
Lucifer is the best "newer" band I've discovered watching the channel. As good as III and IV are, V has surpassed it. It's just so damn catchy and never overstays its welcome. II is good as well, I is the only one I haven't heard. Great band.
Thanks I listened to both and ISE definitely more my style as a poppy type Beatles sound vs. the Hellacopters more garage-y (Martinism) sound though still not bad.
One of my favorite contemporary bands. Great catalog here. The debut is my favorite because I love the doom vibe, but any of the others could be my number two, to be honest.
They’re a great modern example of an “album band”. They really do need to be experienced as a full catalogue, and they deserve that. Great ranking, Pete!
Great ranking Pete of a great band! I have all five albums but haven`t played most of them that recently so would need to have another listen before ranking myself. Whilst saying that I can certainly tell you my two favourite tracks and they are `Abracadabra` and `Izrael` both from the first album. I love it when `Izrael` settles into that slower, sparser sound. One of my favourite doomer tracks!
All these albums are fantastic!!! all the non album singles are great too! II was my favorite until V came out then I really got into IV even more! 5. I 4. III 3. II 2. IV 1. V
Great vid of a really good band. Their debut didn't click with me but I liked it enough to get their 2nd which I though was brill. I would like them to mix up their production a little because by IV and V, you are get a similar experience. They're good song-writers though. My order would be: 1/ II 2/ IV 3/ III 4/ V 5/ I
I can almost guarantee you have just sped up the band's process of releasing the next album by making this ranking. 😂 Thank you, Pete! The way I like 'em: I > V > IV > II > III
Awesome band! I love them. One of my favorite current bands for sure. Their new album, V, is a five-star rock classic. This band is as good as the 70's hard rock bands we all love, or better. My order is: 1. V 2. III 3. II 4. IV 5. debut
Tbh Pete before i heard you and I think either Karen or Ryan mentioned them i had heard of them but never explored went and got all of them incredible band and tbh very original
About 2 months ago I went through the catalogue +The Oath. Lucifer is easily the best ‘new’ hard rock band out. All 5 albums are hard rock gems. Follow Pete’s suggestion and check the band out. 5.I 4.IV 3.V 2.II 1.III
There are certain albums I enjoy more than others, but overall, Lucifer have never made a bad album! Plus, their cover of "Dancing with Mr. D" is one of the best covers I've ever heard.
I love the first album, it's the album I got into them on. Their second album felt like a 70's rock album, then the went back to doom on their third album.i find their music from their 3rd-5th album all has a sameness to it. While I love the first album, I only like their music after that.
I love the band but I HATE the name, they could have used another demon name instead of going for the typical, Anyway I still cant believe I missed them when they came here to Argentina a couple of years ago.
5 great albums. IMO. Played them over & over all week. Will continue till ten AM Sunday. Pete/ the album rankings as I said a gazillion times rules ! Thx for your time. Pete 👍💯

Thanks, Pete! Great band. After hearing about them on your channel, I went and picked up the whole lot. Hell, I even bought a tshirt. Looking forward to your review!
I've seen Lucifer three times live. Great band and have all 5 of their albums.

II was my introduction to the band and I have it #1. The new album is so terriifc. Like you said, it could be tops over time.
@@tomp4053 Cool. Entry point albums are favs a lot.
The first album is by far my favorite. The rest is ok, but the debut is on another level
Amazing band. A hard ranking to do because all their albums are amazing! My ranking, today, is...
5) I
4) VI
3) III
2) V
1) II
a great band i discovered from this channel a wile back. 3 and 4 are my favorites so far
Have been waiting for awhile for this one. Pete is unquestionably the devil's advocate.
Amazing band! I love all of their albums. I really dig all of the musical ingredients they bring to their sound, whether it's blistering hard rock, doom, blues, or psychedelic rock.

@jimmypage2843 the 1st Hellacopters is too garagey, after that, to me, it's just like 70s rock. Paying the Dues just kicks it from start to finish.
You should rank the band called Katatonia next, Pete.
One of my fav "modern" bands. My take: 1 - II, 2 - V, 3 - I, 4 - IV, 5 - III
I have most of there catalog. Good band

exciting band. Thanks Pete for recommending it. Very thankful

Thanks Pete. I checked out Lucifers music and ordered three of their albums: IV V and II. Without your ranking I probably would never listen to them.
Lucifer is one of my favorite bands of today and in general. Fantastic sound, songs, and musicianship!
Great band that deserves more attention. My rankings for now at least:
1. IV
2. V
3. II
4. I
5. III
About 2 months ago I went through the catalogue +The Oath. Lucifer is easily the best ‘new’ hard rock band out. All 5 albums are hard rock gems. Follow Pete’s suggestion and check the band out.
5.I
4.IV
3.V

1.III
I only have III and IV, cool band!
Been following from the oath times, makes me wanna revisit all albums … quite the same favorites as Pete 😊
“Flanked By Steaks” is the better title overall. Great run down Pete, thanks!
i agree with the name… my sister would love their music but i couldn’t imagine her not chucking a cd named Lucifer
Mine would be 5) I 4) III 3) II 4) IV 5) V But all great not much in between them all..
The only one I own is... Lucifer 2. Seems I made a good choice :-)
There are certain albums I enjoy more than others, but overall, Lucifer have never made a bad album! Plus, their cover of "Dancing with Mr. D" is one of the best covers I've ever heard.
Lucifer and Alastor have great moments on their albums, more and more Females are stepping up Harder in the Scene
Pete, rank the Hellacopters and Imperial State Electric, two Nicke Anderson bands that have been around longer with more discs.
I love the first album, it's the album I got into them on. Their second album felt like a 70's rock album, then the went back to doom on their third album.i find their music from their 3rd-5th album all has a sameness to it. While I love the first album, I only like their music after that.
What a band!
II, V, IV, I, III
Great ranking, Tom!
Now do The Hellacopters
Really 5 number ones but just for today ranking;
1) II
2) V
3) III
4) IV
5) I
I just saw that a new album from Blues Pills is coming out in August. Is Lucifer anything like them? I'll check them out anyway.
Curious Pete if you've listened to Gary Jenning's one off band Death Penalty? They released one album and that's it, but it was a great album.
Have you heard the Saturday Night Satan debut? Wow...just played a couple of shows with Lucifer. Similar but different.
Love the 1st album. The rest are ok.
😄👍
Where’s Steven Wilson ranking with Steven Reid ???
I love the band but I HATE the name, they could have used another demon name instead of going for the typical, Anyway I still cant believe I missed them when they came here to Argentina a couple of years ago.
Never as good as The Oath.
@petepardo If you like Lucifer, Nicke Anderson's band's the Hellacopters and Imperial State Electric are, in my opinion better.
Anywhere Loud ranks up there with the classic live albums of the 70's
