In case you havent heard other songs, man just give it a go. Seriously. This band has some of the most beautiful, meaningful lyrics of all time. I could recommend some if you like, but just give them a chance.

@@EkkoTheGekko i think for me its "gone away". I lost a friend, so that song means a lot. It makes me break down so much, i try to stay away from it on the happiest days lol. But other than that wrong side of heaven, coming down, and so many more songs are so good and emotional.

I hear ya man and I was born in late 70's
I'm only 25, but have always loved rock and heavy music. I got into it from my mother, who is a really big AC/DC and Guns N Roses fan, so naturally I am to. There's something special about 5FDP, they have somehow managed to catch that feeling of the old legendary bands, but also put a modern twist on it. They are truly one of the greatest bands of the 2000's, let's be happy, that they are still around.

I'm 65 and most of my records are 60 thru 80s. This group is the exception. I've seen them 3 times. My daughters husband got me right up to the front. I got a pick and a drum stick. I had a great time. I'm fixing to get this as I write this. I'm glad records made a comeback. I always get the CD and record package. I love these guys. Blue October is another good one.

4 years ago, I had a friend that loved country, but always loved rock, she was my best friend, my best mate, my angel from heaven who always had my back, and I always had hers. We met in high school, beginning of senior year. We would draw, hang out at my grandfather's backyard, and lay down on the grass, and just talk. We both never wanted to part ways. 1 year later, I'm working on the weekend, and she called me, and just said " we're going to prom, and we're gonna slow dance to our favorite country song. 😁" and I replied with "😳 HELL YEAH! 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻" we slow danced to "Remember When" by Alan Jackson. Then when we got back to her place, we saw "Gone Away" by 5FDP on the recommended page. We loved it. But then she said "if I pass away, I want you to play this at my funeral." It kinda made us a little sad, but we didn't think too much on it. A few days later I ask if we can go for a walk. We walk to the park, and I ask her if she will be by with me. (Not Merry, just be in a relationship with me) she grabs my hands, and says, "I would love to, but im scared of hurting you, I don't want there to a argument to where we don't want to be with each other anymore. I will have to think about it. I promise to give you a answer." We both continued back to her place, and we hung out. A week later I get a phone call.......it's her parents.
They called me and told me that she died from a asthma attack, they called 911, but by the time they got there, there was no puls. I broke down, and I had to leave work, and meet with her parents to arrange a wake, and then a bariel. I didn't want to accept the fact that she was gone. I got back to the truck, and asked "why God? Why her?" My heart felt like it was ripped in half. A few days later at the wake, I played our prom song. "Remember When" by Alan Jackson. When I said my goodbyes at her grave, I left her angel statue at her grave. When I got home, I played "Gone Away" and then this song came on my notifications, and I EMEDIETLY thought "she would love this song." And then bursted into tears. This song will always remind me of her.
Her name was Amelia.
August 27th 2019.
She was 19.

I am tired of holding all this in shielding myself. I’m tired of protecting myself to the point I’m scared another person might see me. I know it doesn’t make sense but I don’t want anyone in here because it hurts so bad. i’m ashamed of the anger rage scars. Of my mangled existence

Isolation can be such a fucking son of a bitch, especially when you’re trying to deal with shadows wounding and healing. Things that have added or caused isolation. It’s a vicious cycle, you’re hurt because things force you back into isolation . But those same things keep you in isolation. Did I mention isolation extremely fucking sucks. I mean this is not a little isolation this is nothing to be minimized. I’ve lived 41 years of existence this way. with no seeming way out.
i’ve heard it all. I get it I’m doing nothing wrong here. But how could anyone in their right mind not feel like what the fuck am I doing wrong. Not only that how do I change it. The universe has held me in a state of isolation my whole entire life. every attempt to break free of my isolation, I Bear every scar for that. it’s fucked me up so bad, I don’t even know how to relate or connect to the outside world or another human being, i’ve never had a healthy example of anything. It scares me, I see examples every day in society how people are just discarded and thrown away and forgoten .
My will my human spirit refuses to be broken. Refuses to just end it all.  I refuse to be just another statistic just another casualty just another life wasted. I refuse

This and "I apologize" are my favourite songs, they're both sad, heartbreaking yet calming and they make me feel okay, I am not as good as Ivan but also singing them (without the scream because I can't even scream while talking) makes me feel free and someway relaxed.

Accidentally, youtube suggested to listen this song on 04.06.2024 in the evening.
As always, like on almost every single evening, our cat was resting in our arms, enjoying the warmth of the home, our company and some good music.
He has been fighting with two fatal cat illnesses and probably he knew that it was his last evening with us, together.
Listening to this song it touched my heart.
It sounded like the lyrics was written exactly about our lovely purring fur of love losing his strength as he has been fighting with the viruses, slowly weakening him week by week.
He was so strong. Even on his last moments.. he always was like.. that.. there is a light of hope.
The next day he passed away.

I can’t imagine hitting dislike on anything by FFDP. The new music in the last year has helped me push through one of my darkest and most difficult periods. I doubted myself and felt like the light at the end of the tunnel was infinitely far away. Having the relatable lyrics to come back to helped me feel just a little better each time. I graduate this week. ✊

Hey guys. Not sure if you remember this, but back in 2010 you all did a tour through the army bases in Germany. You hit up the big ones of course, but there was one place way up in the mountains you guys came too. A little place called Baumholder. That concert you all played in the parking lot was amazing. I doubt you remember me but I was one of the soldiers you met. Be well you guys. Your music has gotten me through not only my deployment, but through my homelessness when I came home and all of the other hardships I’ve endured afterwards. I said this back then and I’ll say it again. You guys are amazing, and I’m sure I speak for everyone here who has gotten through with your help. We love you Five Finger Death Punch!!! This song actually cures my depression and sadness, my mind is always telling me that I’m not worth living because of the things I’ve gone through in my childhood
I hadn’t been talking to my dad for about 3 in a half years because of what he put me through (same as my dad’s wife) and hadn’t been talking to my mom for about half a month, my grandma passed away on April 2022, my main focus was trying to end myself
My medications are working, but I don’t think it’s working if I keep vaping my lungs out to death hoping I would pass away
