You just can't knock Skyzone for the money. Great review. Glad you got the 03 dialed in. The only competitor now might be the Orqa.... but we will have to see if they deliver.
baughaninastorm yeah nearly pulled the plug on preorder but stopped myself. Sure they’ll be good but too much of a risk right now for me.

I think the real question for the target audience in this range is Skyzone 02X or AttitudeV5 with Eachine/Achilles module. That's a closer to fair comparison, that comes down to the same choice you mentioned - support after sales, or better initial quality and feature integration (of which I'd choose the latter).
I think a similar question you've already implicitly answered - Skyzone03s or HDO with Eachine/Achilles, and we can see what gets the nod - Rapidfire is nice (ditto for Clearview as a ground station), but those are really the cost-is-no-object answer for somebody looking to spend upwards of 2000 quid on the hobby, when you can run a really solid set of goggles for half that price all in.
tehllama42 . I’m sure the attitudes are a decent goggle but I’d just buy some used hd3’s. I’m sure rapid fire is magical, but I’m also sure I’d get a bigger upgrade by using antennas that weren’t blocked by a battery like most other people :) These are the sky02s with a fan - a goggle no one even liked beyond those who bought them. Now they’re on every channel and everyone loves them. Tis a weird old hobby. Sky03 for me is the best overall goggle on the market for the normal hobbyist - except for long range folk. Hopefully Orqa will end Fatsharks lazy ways and there’ll be something to be actually excited about, cos right now it’s tedious.
I have been using the sky 02 goggles for 2 years and love them, pretty much the same goggle without a fan.
Yup so much hype and users like us have been banging on about the sky02s forever.

I'm happy with my purchase. Best colors of any goggle!! I put the covered foam on top of the spongy foam & it sealed my face much better (had to cut out small sections toward the ends to fit inside) & is more comfortable, though maybe it holds the eyes a bit away from the screens where I already had the corners cut a bit. Have had a couple quirks I'm not sure about: Unusable screen one time where it was dark & blurry & then yesterday in flight a momentary sort of gray out.
FPV Flyriding that’s odd. I’d be tempted to look at the quad first although the first instance doesn’t sound vtx related. If you crack them open they’re pretty simple inside. Might be worth checking the ribbon cable if it happens again.
@@CoppertopFPV Okay, thx. It did happen when I did my 1st flight with 2 batteries hooked together with a 2 to 1 xt60 Y. But it worked fine when I went back to my ev800's.

If HDO is the Kia of the FPV goggles, I think I'll take my chances with a Lotus Elise with no warranty. It's about having fun, isn't it?

Good honest review mate, if I was just getting into this hobby now I'd definitely be looking at getting a set of these £232.49 is a great price for a set of goggles.

The reason I like watching your reviews is because you give us your honest opinion and you don’t seem to review anything and everything you can get your hands on for free neither, mostly always components that I’ve been looking at getting myself, or things that have caught my interest too.
Dav reviewing stuff is boring, other than motors and frames cos they’re always nice and fun to test. I wanted to make this review 20 seconds long and link all the channels who’ve called this fantastic, when I bought the bloody same goggles in a slightly different case 2yrs ago and nobody gave them a look. Just got mine today.... I don't know if I should be impressed or not.... Tho I did receive the 02x (with camera) ? but boxed and labled as the 02c? Clearly a camera up front..
First, I come from a Quanum box setup, which SUCKS ASS on a good day. Them damn things make me nauseous as hell..
These are the 1st fatshark style goggle I have ever put on. And that's why I'm in a mood, lol.... I have no other goggle to compare these too as far as fatshark styles go...
Clearly my ipd is wider than these can go. Must be a hammerhead shark... But my edges are cropped off unless I move them around. Screen seems far away to me. Idk... It's not the hype I thought it was gonna be. It will take getting used to for sure. Eye strain is non existent compared to the Quanum box garbage.
I appreciate you and Stu's videos. You have a no bullshit review method and I greatly appreciate that.
Edit: upon further examination, I have concluded that the thick padded face shield is too thick and if I push it on my face like a chic from the strip club, I can see the entire screen better.

Still rocking my Skyzone 02s v+, I've dropped them treated them bad and they're still going strong... Kind of wish they'd break to force me to upgrade! 🤣

Reasons to get O2X over O3: 1. LCDs not OLEDs. OLEDs will degrade over time (not burn-in, or use-dependent, but time-dependent) due to oxygen and moisture leaking in and degrading the organic molecules. Some OLED devices I have lasted only about 2 years before being completely unusable.. See OLED Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLED#Lifespan
LCDs will last MUCH longer and degrade more reliably.
2. Two independent receivers means you can send images from two VTXs, one to each eye for true stereoscopic 3D mode. O3 have only side-by-side 3D, at half the resolution, and requiring a 3D camera and VTX with that mode. O2X can use any two cameras and two receivers at 5.8GHz. This is important for robotics, fixed wing, and telepresence applications, not so much for drones.
3. Price.
Also, i doubt those google conpabies use samsung amoled screens, im pretty sure kts some cheap chinese amoleds, but dont quote me on this. From my Experience with ips and amoled is that ips tend to be sharper on same resolition due puxel arrangement, amoleds use pentile matrix, which adds noise to final image and looks kess sharper than ips. When i look to 1080p ips screen kn my old poco x3 pro, screen looks super clear, natural and sharp, as sharp as my 2k top of the line amoled on oppo x5 pro. At same time samsung galaxy s21+ screen looks less sharp and less clean... I dont know if in these googles those lcd screens is actually ips ones, but there are a lot of bad amoled screens you can buy, and only samsung is top of the line

I'm new to the hobby, however I'm getting the best goggles I can afford. Still need transmitter, lipos and drone. Ordered skyzone 03 after a cancelled banggood order of hdos, seemed the price was below what they could supply at is endless processing. Where are the skyzones at 310 I paid 360 on Ali. I paid 310 for mine on banggood. Offers finished now - if you read the description it tells ya. I had a discount code that i put on my review of the sky03 but it's sadly expired
@@CoppertopFPV Apologies I read the description after comment. Banggood with coupons offered hdos at 370, but as I said endless order processing. Banggood not what it was and I've been with them 10+ years. Not a deal if never ship.

@@CoppertopFPV I've never had problems, ordered countless stuff 2014-2018, built a CNC from components, my go to Chinese supplier. Not used (since 2018) until recently however and not impressed. Which is all well and good but doesn't leave many other options! Thinking quadcopters UK sell hdo £450, which is equivalent of Chinese stores taking into account duty and will get some customer service

Build quality and still lacks the sort of seamless integration that can clearly be achieved. If (when) they roll out with a 16:9 HDO-2 goggle I will likely buy it anyway, but that's a rough pill to swallow knowing I'm basically just buying a pair of screens, a case which fits the aftermarket modifications I need, and anything else I'm relying on the third party market to bodge it into something useful (XT60 cable, fan combo unit, newBeeDrone foam, RapidFire module).
tehllama42 if Skyzone got their act together the hdo would be dead already. Remove diversity, add oleds. Orqa will likely cause FS to actually do something if they don’t fold in 6 months.
I am sure Fatshark has some Orqa alternative in the back hand. I think fatshark will do one of two things. Release an HDO II when Orqa One hits the market or wait for real pricing and acceptance of the Orqa One and than get an HDO II. I don't believe they just let it happen. It's prestige to have the "best" on the market. Either way. It will be great for our community, more competitors equals better or cheaper products.
Dr. One FPV I’m sure they have prototypes of all the things people want, but won’t release until they’re forced to. Being able to buy a colour other than white would excite me from Fatshark

Hi, I have used the leather tipe foam, does your foam also have biger sice where the nose rests and has sticky part exposed from the front side? I have sticked it all perfect arround the goggles but the nose part has sticky part visible from the front of the goggles.
The nose parr is like that so you can adjust it. Stick it where it's comfy and trim the sticky side

Would you recommend these over the Attitude v5 for this November 19? The 02S are a bit cheaper than the v5's
If you don't want to use a separate module then yes. However if at all possible I would save up longer for the 030. The difference is huge
@@CoppertopFPV I see, I have a bit of fear about the support if I ever need some kind of help from them as I am from Brazil and everything is so damn expensive to send outside and we have no local shops for any brands, I will keep an eye on the 03O prices, maybe we find some good promotions now for the black fraud or something.
How does this compare to the eachine ev200d?
Haven't tried ev200. Friend has them and first pair had crap in lens. Got replacement and likes them. Suspect if you get a good set they're great but qc is awful like most eachine stuff, so it's a gamble
