Thanks so much for your tutorial. I'm in the process of upgrading my computer. I know you kept the original battery but mine is gone. What battery would you recommend if you are upgrading?
I can only currently afford a 8GB (4x2) RAM. I'm running Catalina and I use the MBP mainly for browsing, writing documentos and watching movies. Is 8GB enough or should I save more and upgrade to 16GB?
Sure. You can use a used ssd. If it’s really old, you’ll still get the speed benefit, but I would keep any important data backed up. Thanks for watching!
hi thanks so much for the upload, quick question it states on a recent apple specifications list that the max Ram is 8GB for the 15inch mid 2012 macbook pro Mac Os Catalina i7. Im seen loads of videos with 16gb been installed whats the catch can you install the 16gb regardless or am i stuck buying max 8gb for the 15inch mid 2012 macbook pro Mac Os Catalina i7??
As long as it isn’t the retina model, you can install 16gb of ram. Apple only originally supported 8gb, but like you said, it’s been confirmed many times that 16gb works great. Thanks for watching!
Your videos have me collecting old MacBooks & restoring them. Great video!!
Be careful, you’ll end up with a stack six feet high, lol. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Didn't know you could upgrade RAM, and Hard drives on these!!
Great video, really informative ❤ New subscriber 😊
Thank You 🙏🏻
Hi. Love the video. My hard drive crashed on me. What hard drive do you recommend and do you have a link for the ram upgrade?
What ram did you use?
Do you sell the flash drives with the macos on them already?
Great machines.

8gb should be fine for your usage. But if the price difference is close to about $10, I’d go for the 16gb.
Is it possible to put a used ssd to a macbook pro mid12?

Now you just need to figure out a way to upgrade it to "Ventura" - no modern apps really work on these old bad boys.
Open core legacy patcher is the go to method
Hi ,can this computer take more than 16gb ram ?
