Haha Seattle is awesome- the only downside is the weather like you said! I'll likely be in Seattle long-term but looking to hopefully live internationally in a warm place for a year or so at some point in the next couple years@@kimgrod
Excellent video as always Matt! Still deciding whether I want to diversify my hotel portfolio or focus strictly on one brand (Marriott most likely). I applied for the Wyndham Business Earner but am in review. The Aspire has me in pop up jail, but taking this is a blessing in disguise with all the Hilton/Amex changes. Curious to see what happens with the Ritz before my eligibility to product change comes in September. 🎉
That is a great way to look at it- Amex is definitely alienating some of their consumers.. Just a matter of time before they had Lifetime Language to the bonuses on the Hilton Cards as well. I've heard good things about that Wyndham Biz Earner with the status matching! Marriott/RItz may be the way to go.. Thanks so much for your support as always Matt!
Would you say its better to hold out hoping the surpass will have a similar welcome offer like last year with points and a free night or just take the current welcome offer
Hmm it's really up to you. It's possible that bonus + free night offer comes back but it's also possible it doesn't. So just depends on how much risk you want to take on by waiting or by taking a solid offer now. That offer was incredible though so I hope it comes back! Thanks for watching!
Bruh. U not getting .8 Marriott redemption.Maybe if u get a ridiculously $$$ room. Maybe. But foolish tho. Partly because u couldn’t even get 2 nights at such hotel.
I actually just did on my trip to Panama & Colombia a couple months ago. My Marriott Property stay was 0.8-0.9 cents/point in value. Feel free to check out that redemption vid on my channel.

Domestically I don’t think Marriott is competitive, price or pt redemption wise (and not even gonna factor their crazy loyalty program) and for where I want to go. And plat gives Hilton gold and access to great stays at THC and FHR. IHG is my other complement. And the 4th night free perk is cool.
Did you say "conservative Points Guy estimate" four times?🤣 Isn't that an oxymoron? The Points Guy's point valuations are usually higher than just about any other published source, no?
Usually but I almost always can get higher than 0.5 cents/point for Hilton Points and 0.8 cents/point for Marriott points, so I would say those are pretty conservative values by The Points Guy. Thanks for watching Jose!

Hilton Surpass is the best hotel card hands down. Need I explain or do yall understand?
I think the Hilton Surpass is a great option IF Hilton Gold Status makes sense for your travel preferences.
