The Kahjiit takes the sword almost every night and raids the surrounding areas. The daughter then repairs the sword so nobody notices.
It was the abortion that really bothered me in that story. I at least understand that Imperial Law uses tongue cutting and death for theft, and neither of her friends were innocent. At least the punishment was rendered for an actual crime. Dagoth Ur made me realize, though, what that ending really meant. Barenziah APPROVED of her servant's actions, hence why she married him. The version I read censored the actual pornography.
I mean, yeah, the risk of an illegitimate claimant is present, but can't you just sterilize the kid? Who would back a aimant who cannot produce heirs? i actually love Barenziah's character. shes like the cool chick that is always out of your grasp and making you go crazy with some of her decisions, yet her charisma and likeability just overrides everything. plus the really sad childhood that she questions was ever even real. its actually well-written and especially when you contrast all that with her as a grandma in mournhold, shit is just fire yo. fuck skyshit and anybody who likes that pleb slop
