So all of those games came from a house that was burnt down. My buddy and his sister were offered the job to clean it out and anything they found that they could keep, they were allowed to do so. Well, unfortunately, this house had a HUGE retro game collection in it and A LOT of them were REALLY good titles worth good money. I told my buddy to salvage all the game stuff, clean it up as best as he could, and I was able to get him in touch with you. If anyone can move this house fire collection and make money on it, it'll be you Chase! It's awesome to see what all you're pulling out of the box because some of this stuff I didn't even see. Yea, by the end of the video I can TOTALLY see why you're reacting that way. It was an unfortunate situation for sure and definitely not one that you probably expected.
I actually had a house fire a few years ago, before I got into collecting retro stuff. I ended up tossing all my childhood Pokemon boxs and manuals for Gameboy and DS, among other pretty price cardboard games. I didn't know at the time what to do as I did not have stable housing at the time. One of my current biggest regrets.
We purchased a load of sealed PS1 games last year that where found in a loft but moisture had got into them. A few could be saved but most had to be opened up and it was heart breaking to see. Hopefully no one was hurt in the fire
What an amazing unboxing! Those vintage Pokémon cards are a true gem! And that retro game collection is pure nostalgia! Can't wait for the next video, keep up the great work! 🙌🔥
Before you sell that Strategy guide of BoF III you might want to disclose that it has incorrect information about getting through some parts of the game. At least that's what Capcom told me in a phone call from them after I ordered from them. I wasn't charged for it because of that, actually I was reimbursed. It's still one of my favorite games.
Have you thought to reach out to the art/painting restoration community? They might have some special products/processes that would be effective? Just a thought. Good luck!
Skyler, Mat, and Chase I was legitimately crying laughing so hard with the baby shark tubes, the reaction was priceless! 😂 Skyler I loved how you were just like yeah I had 4 sharks in tubes lol. Thanks for the great content guys, praying the people in the home are safe! God bless all and the people in the home!!!
I bought a big comic book collection that had that same black stuff on a bunch of them, I was able to get some of it off but can't do alot with paper. It smelled like soot and exhaust.
Interesting seeing the restoration. I came across about 10 ps1 games that had the cases melted. I wanted to find some new cases for them. the double disk ones im not sure if ill be able to find
Yeah it is one of my favorite GBA games. You gave it to me after brother Dave (who is my brother not yours) accidentally erased your save file. That was probably 15 years ago.
Have you tried using an ultrasonic cleaner? I clean disgusting used controllers that way. Just remove the electrical parts first , but betting you'd know that 😅
No, a stepson broke into his stepfather's home..shot and killed him..then set the house on fire. The collection, I suspect, was owned by the stepfather.
Shark in Jar Facts: baby sharks are not fished for this purpose; they are by-products of commercial fishing. At times, female sharks are caught with developing young inside of them; these are collected and preserved. The Shark in a Jar is one of our most popular items with kids! Preserved in a mixture of 30% isopropyl alcohol and 70% water dyed blue for a captivating “oceanic” aesthetic
This was a bad buy. Chase, that was so much extra work ontop of the work to test each game. I would have not done this deal and I'm sure the seller tried making this look better than it was.

Idea for chase and his burnt cases u could make a massive cd 💿 or sighn for outside by melting and moulding the cases with proper personal protection on like gloves and a mask then led behind it with some dollar store led strips aka a Skylar job
There is a lighter fluid that works on labels that won’t remove the ink it’s a yellow bottle called fertyal or something like that watch collectors luck latest video
I know if im selling a valuable collection or anythimg for that matter, i will take time to at least wipe them down quickly lollll i dont understad how some poeple think loll its like trying to sell an expensive car caked in mud inside and out..lmfao

Thanks again for the amazing connection. That meant a lot to me man
@@catrpcrew No problem! Happy to have done it. Now, do an entire WhatNot on moving the House Fire Collection. Lol
Where the house owners ok?

Microfiber towel with heavy duty dawn soap cleans really good. Ring it out completely so its just damp you could even wipe down the manuals!
We got in some fire damaged N64 games awhile back, they looked horrible. That said, we got every single one working.
You guys laying the blue print down!! Love the channel - daily motivation - check!! 🤘
powerbattles will forever be my favourite star wars game. absolutely amazing
That Breath of Fire III was symbolic lmao
There’s no way that Resident Evil Directors Cut is factory sealed. There’s no top sticker.

I remember not being able to get past the desert until I read where you had to go from an NPC.
That toploader friendly card box is from BCW. They make all kinds of great stuff (sorting trays, storage, etc)
Have you thought to reach out to the art/painting restoration community? They might have some special products/processes that would be effective? Just a thought. Good luck!
There a company that can make them look like the fire never happened
Probably sat on a shelf next to an oil furnace in a basement expose to mild heat and lots of black soot

removing soot with ash is an old time honored trick. dip a cloth in a little water and then ash and then you rub the sooty part. worth trying 😅
I love Skyler's deduction: So for there to be a 3, there must have been a 1 & a 2. 😂
I mean Star Wars episode 4 was the first one…
@@earlgendron4893 😂🤣 truth
I mean Goat Simulator 2 doesn't exist....but 1 and 3 do.
Good to see Skylar back !
Definitely deposited soot from fire damage
That is definitely from house fire. I had one at my house when I was a kid.
that new horizons is the best game ever spent hours and hours on this game. takes time very worth it.
I currently own Chase’s old Monster Rancher 2 for GBA
Paul!!! Haha let’s go! I can’t believe you still have it
Yeah it is one of my favorite GBA games. You gave it to me after brother Dave (who is my brother not yours) accidentally erased your save file. That was probably 15 years ago.
Looks like stains from think smoke from burnt house
You might test the games for mold just to be safe
Awesome video Pokémon cards

Spontaneous Combustion?
“The house fire was the end of it.” Wait, what was the BEGINNING of it?!
Grow house?
@@retrohollandia Ohh 😳

@@TattedCollector If that's true then I don't get why they were so giggly about it. That is horrible.
@@TattedCollector 😮😮😮
Is Jordan in the chat?
Anyway, good flippin job✌
90% of that stuff can be cleaned. It just takes a lot of time and patience.
Man that's soot is crazy 😢
Is that BoF3 guide still available?
I seriously do not understand how your logo/branding isnt yet based on the Caterpie Pokemon
I need bushdo blade so bad!!!!!
Oh no!
100% fire damage
Was there a copy of a black label Silent Hill that "survived" the fire?
If so, I would be interested on it.

Anyone know where I could get a box like the one those pokemon cards were in?
You ever curious if any of this items are stolen? General question not being a dick
AZURE DREAMS AND BLAZING DRAGONS!!!!
So what actually happened?
A stepson showed up to his stepfather's house, shot and killed him, and then set the house on fire. I suspect the collection was owned by the stepfather.
But how do they smell??
My thoughts exactly
I wonder if the heat has damaged the discs in any way
Thankfully it did not. They all work well
He says the discs work at the 38:21 mark
Ufffff, I see the disappointment in your face. Sorry!!!

You don’t use tcg app scan for value😏
Why do people sell you things for half of their value? I'm legit confused.
